Its not too bad on the Subarus I've seen... On a GD STi, you can use an assortment of swivel extensions and sockets

I probably don't need to change my plugs until 100k anyway.

What do you guys think about slightly used LS460?

I think I'll go with those for my wife's next car instead of going with a brand new car.

I love them. And they can be had for very reasonable prices.

Only bad thing I ever heard about the LS is that if the timing chain goes, holy shit snacks is a new engine expensive.

Why not a smaller GS? It's just the two of you and the dogs, right?

Shit snacks That's a new one.

Do they have a problem with timing chains failing?

I don't know to be honest. I have heard of them failing and it's catastrophic.

Heading to a new home tomorrow. Very quick sale.

The dark blue LFA came in today as well. However, her owners stayed with her throughout the entire service, so no pics.

I have some seat time in a 2008 and a 2013 F-Sport.. They're fucking tanks. Feels like your a captain in a cockpit. Very nice power.. very smooth. I think you'll love it. Definitely get navi with a backup cam. It's a good family car, very nice fit and finish, everything quality. I haven't heard of any issues with the LS engine although a handful of trans issues, not something you should be worried about. I drove a few LS400's and there were issues with some mounts but I don't think that carried over.

I almost pulled the trigger on a 2008 48k mile LS460 last month but the wife is happy with the MDX. It was going for $26k, and not a ding. Everything was still pretty nice. It had aftermarket wheels that I didn't care for, but the seller was pushing it as a bonus. You can definitely find a good deal out there.

Honestly, it's tough pulling the trigger when you don't have a car payment. It's like every month is a little extra bonus.

Even got serious and started a GT-R fund. Probably two more years to go.

The "cheapness" in you is pulling through. I'm proud of you.

But, I am itching for a new car. I won't lie.

So, in summary, this tour goes for 10 days. You start in Amsterdam and then over to Germany for a day at the Ring. Then, they take you to Switzerland and Italy for a full day at Monza. Stops are also at Monaco and Cannes. Yow.

Apparently track cars are included in the package along with 5-star hotel accommodations and a guest.

That is pretty awesome. Not a horrible price either, all things considered.

I could remove my water pump in my Camaro in an hour or less, even taking my time. It's really straightforward. I could teach a monkey how to do it.

Designing a car is a convoluted process. But there shouldn't be a disconnect between the designers and engineers. You shouldn't have to remove a tire to change a headlight bulb, or to change a battery. Or unbolt engine mounts to jack up the engine so you can change spark plugs. Or unbolt the entire front end, radiator, etc. to do a water pump + timing belt.

It would be one thing if it were difficult. It's another when it looks like a sadist designed it.
I had a 91 Infiniti Q45. Easily one of the best cars I've owned. About five of the eight fuel injectors were simple to replace - probably about 15 min. However, three (or something) were buried under the fucking intake manifold top so it turned into a several hour job. It was a simple design fix but for some dumb fuck reason it was a huge pain in the ass. I hate that disconnect.

Even on older cars - some of the 60s mustangs required the engine to be lifted for replacement of tune up parts.

How much can one expect for insurance?? I'm 23 no accidents, 1 speeding ticket that i took traffic school for so its not on my record.

I got a quick quote from esurance for a BRZ and i got quoted $863/6 months. I'm not gonna go to different sites since i'm not shopping for a car yet, but that just seemed a little ridiculous! Is insurance really that much?! That was also full coverage I believe with 50/100k liability?

I pay like 100 bucks per month for my BRZ.

I'm 29 with no points on my license.

Ask couple different insurance companies, I'm sure you can find cheaper rates.

just wanted a rough estimate so I know how to properly budget the car and make sure I'm still comfortable with going from no car/insurance payments to all that good stuff

What was the age when your insurance gets cheaper again? 25 or 26?

I'm on a multi-car policy, so that might make it cheaper. I pay $790/6 mo. for just my BRZ. But I've been the sole person insured on multiple vehicles and have no at-fault accidents, that might factor in some.

I had a 2 point infraction about five years ago. Weird thing is, my insurance didn't ever rise due to that ticket, but recently it started going up.

It will undoubtedly be a drain on your finances. It's not worth it to eat pre-packaged ramen just to have a new car.

Make sure you have PLENTY of rainy day money set aside in case shit happens. A car/house/etc. are all long-term investments of money. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

i didn't see much difference in my premium from age 22-27/28, i would say you will notice a difference when you are going to turn 30.

I pay about $1400 a year for my F30 335 or the 07 S2000 (so 07 s2000 insurance = 2013 BMW 335 )

and $600 for my 06 Accord, full coverage.

Haven't seen one in person with the tan top, hopefully it matches the seats at least, unlike the Camaros.

One thing I can look forward to later today is the awful traffic. You'd think living in the a perma-tundra year-round would teach some of these nimrods here how to drive each time a big-snow dump occurs.

Oh right, I forgot: Half the nimrods think their HEMI PICK-UPS with the 4X4 is good enough in knee-deep snow without snow tires!
