I think much of it is the colour. Makes those vents stand out much more. And when the C6 Z06 came out, that colour was whored out like crazy.
If I were in the market, I think I would always splurge for the Z06 of any generation Corvette. Makes the base model look so plebian.
Not sure if you folks have seen it yet. C7 Z06:

Still not sure about the all the black accents. Hopefully over time it won't look so polarizing (IMO). And it now comes with a removable roof

I love the C7, everything about it is awesome....and having driven one, I feel they did an overall great job...
Srika, if you want the Z06, they were heavily discounting it...I was at the Chevy dealer with Steven, and the guy was like, if you want to buy the Z06, I will knock of 25K of the sticker right now...
I was like "damn I didnt even start negotiating"

I like the other car though, partially because I'm leaning towards my next car being blue, & the Le Mans Blue on older Z06s is a great shade, imo. The black wheels & roof look great with it.

What does it mean to drive a Corvette Convertible in a snow storm...?

And since we're talking about Corvettes, you gents see this video posted earlier this month from the British folks from Goodwood where they test the 2014 version versus the "British greats"...? So, that'd be an Aston V12 Vantage and the Jaguar F-Type V8S...
Yes ... We talked about it. It was the same as the other video by CAR or AUTODERP or whomever ... They talk about parts of the car and in the case of Goodwood talk about how fast it is ... But not one of them said they'd actually buy the Corvette over the others. They just didn't say anything.

The cars just don't seem to be designed to be marketed to the same people who would buy them. Somebody with the money to buy a V12 Vantage S, but wants a Corvette would have bought the Corvette without ever giving the Aston a second thought. I just don't see people cross shopping these cars.
Not a bad review, but it's kind of pointless just like one someone did with the Corvette Vs. Carrera S vs. F-Type vs. something else.

No one is arguing (and neither are you, I know) that the performance of the C7 is equal or superior to cars that cost 2X the money. What makes me curious is if all these people driving the C7 and these other cars would pick the Corvette because the performance is so good AND the car as a whole has gotten so good that they no longer say, "It's quick but ..." or "It's an amazing car on the track but ..." like they did with previous generations.

Kinda like why the GT-R has that "it's fast but..." thing going against it too? Cuz, it's a Nissan...going up against a Porsche.
