I wouldn't've given them my insurance info, but if they do call your insurance, they should back you up. Sounds like they were just looking for someone else to blame for the situation, and you were the (second) most obvious choice.

Sucks to be them.

Got a great deal at X-Plan and then -$500.

Performance Blue ST3. Waiting on the paperwork.

Thanks RPhilMan for the advice!

I was able to get a good rate and payment where I wanted it with $10k down so I can go get the windows tinted and a pro clear bra job done.

The finance experience at the dealer ... FFS god it sucks. Guy started at 10% ... I was going to go to Pen Fed but they are taking a couple weeks to get approved. Finally got it down but the guy tried everything in the book ... Ford prepaid maintenance, extended warranty, etc all rolled in for very low rates. I took the Credit Union rate and told him to get stuffed. The least pleasant part of buying a car for sure.

Congratulations Dave!

Looking forward to seeing your pictures when you pick it up. The ST is a terrific choice.

I can't stand dealer financing departments either. Its so much easier going with outside financing.

Nice pickup...congrats!!

The finance guy is the worst . When I bought the TL, I was quoted a reasonable rate, but was told it was the best they had. Then they magically found a better one once I said I was going to use the loan I had secured at the credit union instead. The games they play .

I'm going to get 3M invisible shield/bra/whatever next Friday. I found a place that does high end cars near where I work. Lifetime warranty, blah blah blah.

Looks like it's going to be about $800-1000 to do the Hood, Fenders, Mirrors, Front bumper, Headlights, A pillars, Door cups, leading edge of roof above the windshield, front of rear wheel arcs, and trunk ledge plus some custom bits where I think my bike rack might cause wear.

Does that sound about right?

Closer to $800 seems about right for all that coverage. Anything more is a bit steep. Where are you getting it done?

Craftsman jack, stands, and creeper for $77 with free shipping.

http://dealnews.com/Craftsman-3-Ton-...ng/685629.html

The jack won't work for either of my cars, but its always good to have a spare.

I didn't get a pic, but I was driving up to Malibu on the PCH this morning and was in traffic with a 2013 Porsche RS 40...impressed because of the rarity of this one.

Thats definitely on the low end of the scale. I thought the late model V10s were still ~$150k.

That R8 is missing the front emblem as well as the V10 emblems on the fenders. Maybe it was in an accident?

Price sounds about right. They retail for somewhere sound $160-170,000 new I believe & that's a 2 year old model pushing over 15,000 miles, which is abnormally high for that type of car for such a period of time.

Anyway, I would come into work this morning & find a C6 with the Z51 package & 6-speed manual just traded in. Have to get a drive in it when our detail shop picks it up.

Also glad to help out.

The new one is about to come out so the price of the current gen is plummeting.

Anyone buy extended warranties?

The scumbag finance guy tried to sell me a 2/24 warranty for $1500 ... On Ford's site they charge $890 for the same thing. Again, scumbag.

Ford wants $2500 for their PremiumCare (highest level) warranty to go 7/125k on the ST ... Goes up $100 if I wait until 35,000 miles (which I'm gonna do since it makes little difference). Was just curious what others thought.

I've always told myself that if I were to buy a brand new car, I would get an extended warranty.

I would take the $890 price to the dealership and do it in person. I don't like doing important stuff like that online.

I hear you. I still have a bad taste in my mouth about that scumbag.

It's through Ford's ownership website so I feel okay about buying it online. I think I may wait until I buy it since it doesn't affect the cost that much to wait.

Thanks for the advice though ... 7/125k miles is a long ass time

I barely drive now too haha. And I think where ever I have an internship over the summer I'm going to trade cars with my dad if my commute is longer than his. I need this car to survive as long as humanely possible without throwing in money. Its only worth like 3k so I'm not gonna do work (like timing belt) if thats 1/3 of its cost. Especially when the tranny can go out at any minutes
