Its official I want a BRZ. I think when the time comes to buy a new car, the MK7 GTI won't be out and I dont want to wait like 6 months to consider it. Its really the only car I'd consider other than an FRS/BRZ. But I want a BRZ over the FRS so long as they dont mark it up! I'd never pay for that....

Theyve been getting more this year, it shouldnt be marked up at all. If a dealer does mark it up, walk out.

You should sit in it first if you haven't.

It is like sitting on a bleacher.

I will, I'll pass judgement when I actually go car shopping which is probably a year or a ltl less away from now. Depending on the job I get. Anyway, I did sit in the FRS and I do like it, it was nice a snug for me. I actually liked the seats and especially the driving position.

I'm sure the BRZ is similar.

I doubt this, but you think they would give out test drives. I know the Toyota dealer told me (this was a while back, sometime last year) that they dont really give out test drives to anyone, which sucks IMO. I'd just want a drive for amile or less, I just need that much time to see if I'd be comfortable.

They will when you are ready. It is tempting but when you are ready to buy, go in preapproved and they will give you all the test driving you need.

You shouldnt have a problem test driving it now, at a Toyota or Subaru dealer. Its not a super car.

BTW, the seats in the FR-S and BRZ are identical, the only difference are the covers.

FR-S gets the 10yr Anniversary version (the entire Scion line is getting that).

The important upgrades are:
-JDM headlights
-Keyless start
-Auto HVAC (same unit in the BRZ Limited)

It also gets some ricer shit like a glow in the dark shifter and light up Scion emblems Its only available in silver and they are making 2500 of them.

If you're waiting for major changes, thats 2015/2016.

No but they sure act like it. I showed interest in both at the dealerships and had to jump through hoops just to get a salesman to open the damn door.

And I showed up in my S2000.

Early on they were very skeptical about people coming in for test drives, but from what I have heard, they have no problem now that the car has been out for nearly a year. The Toyota dealer thats right down the block from me has two sitting on the lot, Im pretty sure they won't have a problem with test drives.

FWIW, one of the Honda dealers here wouldn't let me test drive an S2000 without putting a down payment down. I laughed. This was back in 2008, I had just come from work so I wasnt dressed like a slob, and I still had my work badge on me.

Went with my buddy to look at one in my car & they seemed more interested in getting my business asking what I thought & if I would trade in.

Probably because after they ran his info, they found out his credit sucked.

+1 I go to dealerships and tell them I'm pre qualified. They don't need to know how much and through who. I've never been denied a test drive, even when I'm not actually pre qualified

I also tell them I've driven this car and that car, and that I'd like to see how this car feels on the road and how they all compare.

haha I see. From going to the dealership and test driving cars I've driven both the Mkv and MKVI GTI

MKV is like when I first got my license and I was a ltl scared taking out a 25k car in case I get into an accident.

My MKVI test drive, the dude let me beat the shit out of the car... He insisted I do haha. Tried out launch control and went through a few nice corners. He even turned off TC when I was going through the corner I didn't want to push it anywhere near its limits haha, especially in a blind turn....

Had a similar test drive in a JCW Mini Clubman. Salesguy had to drive it off the lot & went about 1/2 mile before we switched. He got it sideways around a 90* turn & then turned me loose in it on a test drive area they call "The Racetrack" because it makes an easy loop & is rarely patrolled by local police.
Fun test drive for sure. He kept encouraging me to take another lap. He drove a 135i MSport & another Mini salesguy had a M3, so they like to go out there in their personal cars & play too.

lol salesguy called this place the "racetrack" too!

It was an area where there were just a bunch of warehouses that trucks go and it was basically empty

Jesus, Fifth Gear completely savaged the 300C in the show that aired last night.

Either they are complete snobs, the plant building the 300 in Europe is full of donkeys, or our standards are ridiculously low.

It's the bolded part. I like that show, but they really are snobs.

wow. at even the possibility.

http://jalopnik.com/audi-plans-to-in...ycar-472859296

Audi May Invade America Through IndyCar

Audi has a tendency to dominate in whatever motor racing endeavor it enters, from rally to LMP racing at Le Mans. The news that Audi is considering entering the IndyCar series, with its famous namesake race, may come as a bit of a worry, then, to Chevrolet and Honda, the current engine suppliers to the series.

The company's new research and development boss Wolfgang Durheimer told Autosport that Indy could be a big part in Audi increasing its presence in US racing.

An entry into IndyCar as an engine supplier is also possible, according to Durheimer.

"Another opportunity would be IndyCar, which I think is still very popular and the Indy 500 is an outstanding race," he said.

The ALMS And Grand Am Are Now Officially Called United SportsCar Racing
Yesterday we heard some rumblings that the merged version of America's two sports car racing… Read…

Durheimer also echoed boss Wolfgang (so many Wolfgangs at Audi, these days) Ullrich's comments that the Daytona Prototype class is the way to go in the 2014 United SportsCar Racing championship, which is a result of the merger between ALMS and the Grand Am series:

"I am personally in favour of Daytona Prototypes, because I think it is important to make overall wins," he explained. "Class wins [with the R8 GRAND-AM] are nice, but at the end of the day you have to win the race."

So there you have it. Along with the new DTM America, get ready to see nothing but Audis pretty soon flashing across your screens.

^^^That's the exact same police car copied into that picture multiple times. Look at how all the lights are flashing in a synchronized fashion, for example.
