Finished up registering for a track day on this Saturday @ Streets of Willow.

The event organization this time is Speed Ventures. This one is supposed to be much better than Extreme Speed in terms of track day management. And they let passengers for the session, so I'll be taking my wife out to the track for a lap or two for fun. And my 86 track friend who is much faster me will be in my car giving me advice for a session. That will be fun.

I was going to post a track map but Google found me this. I remember this comparison done by Motor Trend from a year back. Please nice chart done at the same track. Both are GREAT cars for the money!

Does anyone know if this is a magnetic number or vinyl?

I don't like putting a sticker and taking it off every time I go to track. Something small like that, I don't mind having it on my car.

I've got a 50% off on the next track day through Speed Ventures... so I'll probably go to Buttonwillow on December 20th or 21st.

Two track days baby! Can't wait to go to Buttonwillow. It's supposed to be one of the best in the west side!

Buttonwillow is nice but getting there is not. and you pretty much have to stay at the motel that is about 20 miles away.

many can get up to 100+ on the straight... so stay on the right side on the straight oh and that is where most of the bystanders are watching

Yeah, it's 140 miles away from my place in LA. It's not too bad. haha

I will definitely stay on the right side on the straight. bahahaha

But then again, there are a lot of people with suspension/wheels/tires who are lapping at 2:03.... which is pretty insane. I'm sure I'll be A LOT slower, but people really underestimate this car. haha

you can make up the times in the corners but in the straight where all the people are watching... there is not much you can do

I wonder what he thinks about the size differences. And weight.

I have yet to drive a Fiesta ST. I wonder how much different it feels from the Focus ST.

Get some pics!

Well...the funny thing is it's because of a family issue and having to turn the Mustang in and it wasn't cost effective to take the upside down on his 2013 to trade up to the 2015 directly. So, instead, he went economical and leased the Fiesta because the low payment with his upside down was reasonable. He also said that the residual on the Focus was worse than the fiesta since they are so cheap...so he opted for it. He says with head/exhaust/intake and tune he can get 60 more HP to the wheels. He's gonna do it for sure...
He works for Ford.

Yeah, it's pouring in LA.

SOW track is about an hour and half North. It seems like they will clear out by tomorrow, so I don't think it'll be a factor on Saturday! I hope so!

An open track like SOW is fun in the rain. A track with walls and barriers with little runoff = I'd opt out.

Yeah, it'll be fine! No walls on both SOW and Buttonwillow.

OMG OMG

Daniel, you should sign up for Buttonwillow on 20th. It's not THAT far from Bay Area.

Ooh, Ted's BRZ. One of my favorite builds. I've seen that car in person, that turbo looks real nice

I want to go to BW, but it's not gonna happen this month. It will more likely happen when I switch back to 91.

Yeah, he was at all the track events that I've went before. It looks sick in person.

Just got home.

So tired.

First-ever spin out. Nothing happened. Just some dirt on the wheel.

Shaved off +5 seconds from my last time.

Got to ride in that Turbocharged BRZ for 8 laps. I learned SO MUCH from it. My next session after riding that car was completely different. My time got improved by 2 seconds off the lap consistently. I realized I was doing so many things incorrectly.

And yeah, his BRZ..... is insane. The amount of grip it gets...is just mind boggling. And the car was surprisingly very smooth and fast. Thought it would be WTF crazy in the car, but it really wasn't.

He said he has been to +20 or 30 track days this year. His car was turbocharged for a long time.

There was a black R8. It sounded beautiful and was hauling ass on the front straight.

There were couple GTRs / +10 S2Ks / +10 FRS/BRZs / +10 Miatas and a lot of M cars and Audi S cars.

I got my GoPro vids. Will upload it tomorrow. My last session felt VERY nice. I was playing with everything off and TC off/VSC sports on. My times were similar, but it's so much comforting to drive with VSC sports on.
