2013 Subaru BRZ Kimchi Edition
Yeah. With a Subaru BRZ, the car sits really, really low to the ground.
So tired from car shopping all day today. In short, I ended buying a brand new Subaru BRZ Limited.
My MS3 was Carmaxed for $15k.
BRZ's MSRP $29k.
Got it for $26k and 1.6% APR on the loan.
Wife said "no" as soon as she sat in a MX5. I could NOT believe how Mazda didn't have a Bluetooth in a Club edition. We are 3 days away from year of 2014. Come on now.
Wife REALLY pushed me to get a M3, but more I thought about it, it didn't make sense. Sure, M3 was a BEAST. I really wanted to get it in the beginning. After researching on M3 forum, E9Xs were fairly reliable. But still a lot of people with high mileage were looking to purchase extended warranty for their cars. And BMW dealers apparently can't put a Certified on any M vehicles. I thought if I get a M3, the fun part of "Let the modding begin" wouldn't really be fun since basically every mod for M3 was expensive. So, I walked away.
Anyway, all I wanted was a new car that had these: RWD/6MT/Light/Aftermarket support.
And a BRZ made so much sense. The deal was already done through email. Everything was processed very fast. I highly recommend Noema @ Pacific Subaru in Torrance.
Noema/Her GM/Me took like 2 hours for my wife to finally say YES. On the way back home, I asked her what made her to change her mind. She just said I looked so freaking happy when I was test driving a BRZ with her.
I'll update this thread often as I have already planned everything that I want to do with it. Hopefully, I'll take it slow.
Here's a quickie pic. Will take some nice pics of it when I get to back to work next Thursday.
The car drives like heaven. It feels so fast even though it's slow on paper. The driving feel is just.. awesome. And I can't believe all the magazine tests were done in this shitty ass tire set. It's amazing how this car gets very respectable performance figures with these tires. I'll probably get a sticky tires very soon for the stock rims since the tires are cheap as heck. Love it.
Can't wait to drive this car.. everyday.
Thanks guys.

The cars are Certified based on various requirements to do so that are not model specific.
Congrats on the car, though. Looking forward to your progress with her.

Congrats!! Glad to hear your wife approved, and you finally got it. Looks like it's time for another name change.
Also... Lower it.

Awesome! BRZ is the better choice, IMO. M3 is awesome, but could be a very expensive choice in the long run (anecdotal stories aside). BRZ/FRS twins are great and I'd definitely entertain the option of one if I were in the market for a RWD MT.

Congratulations on a fantastic car dude! I'd definitely go for the BR-Z over the FR-S as well considering its the more upscale of the two...
As far as the M3 is concerned, you did the smart thing financially. Plus its always nice to have a brand new car as opposed to a used one (especially an M3 which is almost certain to have been beaten on and is expensive to work on)...

Thanks guys!
Damn, I drove like 200 miles today already.
Never have been this excited just driving around. The car feels so.. athletic.
I'll be ordering a interior LED kits/license plate/back up light tomorrow.
Haven't really decided on this yet, but I may purchase a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport to swap out on my stock rims. Maybe I'll ride that set out then buy a set of the rims that I want.

haha yeah man. I'll get some pics tomorrow.
Have been playing with the car for so long.
And it's funny because I never had Navi/Heated seats/keyless entry on my car since I never cared. These are freaking awesome.
Doesn't fit. Different bolt pattern.
And I want to try some other style for this car.
Too many stuff to choose from. Have been researching on so many mods.

Congrats! Is it a 2013 or 2014?
Treat this engine like you do the MS3 engine - it doesn't like high load at low RPM in high gears. Skip the LEDs and go straight for tires. It completely transforms the car. After tires, I suggest sway bars. That makes for a very enjoyable daily driver.
Also, fix your sig

Just took couple quickies in front of our place with my Note 2. Sorry for the quality. I'll take some nice shots with 5D at work on Thursday.
Still undecided what to do with the mods. There are just.. too many mods out there for this car. Will probably research for couple more weeks first.
I usually ride on the stock rims for a year and half!
Thanks! MY2013. Which sways would you recommend!? I need to fix my sig and username!

I will probably go with the rims that I always wanted to have on one my cars some day.
Will probably look like this in a year or two in terms of rims/suspension:
Enkei RPF1 18 x 9.5
255-35/265-35
