Here is my current set up. Just need a Mattebox and some should rig for handheld and it'll be done...just in time for it to be outdated...

New Year, new gear..really figured out a lot of stuff this past year. Most importantly what stays in my bag and what doesn't. Still looking for that perfect 'pro' bag...have a Lowepro Transit sling, but its a tad bit too small so I'm currently using just an Amazon Basics bag...doesn't have camera brand logos all over it AND fits all my important gear perfectly, just wish it was a little sturdier.

nice. can't wait to see the new photos. I tend to get bags used (only exception was the x100). that bag that you might be looking for can be just sitting in somebody's closet in most cases.

Got the word I'm doing the photography for a runway event in May, decided 200mm wouldn't be enough to cover it. I didn't want to slap a converter on the 70-200 so I bought a 100-400L I yesterday. Also traded in my 24-70 F4 for the 24-105. Got some money back on the trade to take the brunt off the 400.

Push pull is kinda weird, but I mastered that at a young age so I should adapt well.

I've shot several fashion shows and the 70-200mm is actually the preferred lens for just about every photog in the photographer's pit

sorry...runway as in racing down a runway, not fashion.

The 70-200 is mind bogglingly good, will never sell it.

I think you're going to be very happy. The time a shot with my 24-70mm, I was amazed what I saw on my computer. The 70-200mm f/4 would be my choice if I was buying today. Have actually thought about selling my 2.8 VR1, to get it.

I loved my Canon version, excellent weight, f/4 was plenty for what I shot and it was very sharp.

I had all four versions that Canon had out six years ago. The only one that I was really happy with was the F/4 non IS.

I rarely use my Canon 70-200 F4 non IS, but when I do I am never disappointed.

^ Curious to know if you lost much money in the switch. I'm considering it to get the awesome sensors in the Nikon bodies.

That depends on how you bought your first gear. I lost very little switching. I bought either used or refurbed on everything I owned.

With my N gear I'm using buying services like GreenToe or Canon/Nikon Price Watch. Plus I still bought 2 MINT used lenses. I've had good luck.

Any tech or electronics are going to lose value. Camera bodies more so than lenses. But it all loses something.

Nikon non pro lenses, come with hoods. With say a Canon lens like 10-22mm, if you want a hood, you have to buy extra.

Jup is right.

I think I made out okay in the switch.

I think Nikon's lenses are a bit more expensive, and I made a serious upgrade switching from a 24-105 Canon to a 24-70 Nikon.

However, I got seriously lucky with the 24-70. I was dead set on getting the Tamron 24-70 with VC but I decided to take a peek on Fred Miranda for a Nikon, to my surprise a guy was selling his literally brand new, not one photo taken, 24-70 for about $500 off of retail, I scooped that up immediately.

The 70-200 I purchased from Nikon's Refurb. dept.

The 50mm I found on eBay new for $178 I think, much less than say Amazon or B&H.

The Tokina 12-24 costed me $280 on eBay, very nice condition.

I'm happy with the switch, I think the Nikon's sensor produces much clearer pictures than my 60D's and it performs superbly at almost any ISO. I can confidently boost my ISO to 2000 with the Nikon where as the Canon I wouldn't dare go over 800.

I've been interested in these lights for some time. They are LED fresnels...very small with tunable color temp and internal dimming. They have a VERY high CRI rating, which is color accuracy.

Kinda excited about these.

I knew you would!! About to pick up my second one. Hard to not have two Fuji bodies when out shooting. Sold my XE-2 a few months back. And the June firmware update is going to be sweet!! Just as the past two have been.
