CF Roadtrip is $349.

lol good reason. I'm ordering the roadtrip in aluminum. I can't justify the carbon cost.

Yeah, if I had gone with the roadtrip I would have gone aluminum as well. The deal was too good to pass up, especially when one Samy's tried to claim it was typo and not honor the deal, but another one of their stores did!

And I'm going to return the PD Clutch. This camera is too small for the design, ergonomics suck because of it.

I can't wait to get a working 10-24.

Paypal decided in my favor and I'm just waiting for the package to return to that fucktard for my refund before I pull the trigger on another one, new this time.

Finally got the damned dispute resolved with that used 10-24 I had purchased. Fedex finally delivered it back to him today. So, paypal is closing the claim and reimbursing me the money. And that seller for all his asshattery actually made good and sent me the shipping costs.

Went to Samys and bought one because the rebate is still happening and Samys is having a no tax anniversary sale this week. Otherwise, I should have probably saved my pennies.

added some much needed flash equipment to the arsenal....

Godox AD600BM flash (2)
36" Octagon Parabolic Softbox (2)

Flash has lithium battery good for 500 full-power flashes and can be used outdoors as well. I will likely not need to use these at full-power much. Bowens mount, good bang for the buck. First 2 shoots coming up on Tuesday, I think these guys will do well.

Dude...I LOVE the Godox stuff! I've bought the models branded by Adorama with the X1 trigger. Totally impressed and loving the ease of use.

oh good to hear!!! Any quirks or tips for using them? What modifiers do you have???

nice nice, so many options these days. Truth is I had been looking for a portable light forever, I just kept putting it off because there was always something I wasn't content with - this flash meets most (all?) of my major expectations. I tested them out last night and was super impressed.

oh yeah, I have 1 Godox AD360 that I bought a couple years ago, the battery (Quantum 3) died several months ago and I have not been using it. That was fun while it lasted. Supposedly I have to send the battery in for service to get the cells replaced or something, I just haven't done it.

Got some followup on this.

Seeing how I don't have any kids, earlier this year I started loaning out my older stuff to kids I know on Instagram. It's been rewarding, it feels good to help the community, especially people who would not be able to use that gear themselves. It's only been the 5DC and 7D and some lenses so far, but both of those cameras can take fine pictures and are good learning platforms.

I don't have the 600's I have 3 360's and a couple of the speed lights with the trans matters built in. control everything with an X1 trigger....No issues whatsoever. I have various modifiers, all bowens mount no problems there either. I'm really impressed with everything.

If you get the 600's i know you won't need these, but I use these to mount the lights on the modifiers:

Damn... waiting for my 30L.!!! At first I ordered the 20L but then at survey time decided to upgrade to the 30L because i plan on using it more than as more than just a camera bag..

more like an everyday bag...

My only concern is that my lappy won't fit in the 20L but I also didn't want a gigantic backpack as it would look ridiculous on me. I'll bring my work one home and see how it goes. Quality and attention to detail with the little things is out of this world though. You can definitely tell it was designed by engineers and not fashion designers. Everything just works and makes sense for why it's there.

Now I just need to get a capture clip...

the MkI is worthy, I take it? I'm curious how the AF would perform on my a7RII using Metabones adapter

My opinion...no. It was a horrible design and IQ is not that great. The tamron is probably an optically superior lens.

It meets my needs - sharp as hell even wide open - I like the IQ quite much.

I got a good deal on it and it's just a void I always knew I would re-fill.

a big negative is it's weight.

so, this picture of me was taken back in Oct 2015... I loved this Think Tank bag... but as mentioned in other discussions, I got a bunch of my gear stolen back in Jan (of this year, including this bag)
Anyways, thank God for insurance... pretty much all the things that were stolen got replaced... They couldn't replace this bag because it's been discontinued so the gave me a Lowepro ProTactic 450 instead... which I love too... But I still miss that Think Tank sling/bag... anyways I found one at Amazon.ca, new one for $77 CAD, that's like $57 USD! I couldn't help it, just had to order it... Now, EVEY stolen piece of camera gear has been replaced

Well there is another Nikon D3s back in the household, but it's for my son. His 16th birthday is about three weeks away. Found a great condition used one at the local store, only 16k on the shutter.

The new backpack came in handy since the old Canon 200EG backpack I brought to Hawaii ended up falling apart on me during the trip.
Brought the Canon backpack instead of my Flipside 300 since the Canon backpack can hold more gear.
