Yesterday I picked up one of those Vello speedboosters to adapt my canon glass to my Sony Nex-6.
it was on sale yesterday for $150, normally retails for $500
Canon EF Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Accelerator AF Lens Adapter
i have a non-optic Fotodiox adapter but I've been wanting a speedbooster since I rented the metabones one a few years back.
Just didn't want to pay $650 or so for it

Gear schmear. The more the merrier. I also continue to loan gear out to people I believe in.
Picked up this beast this week, Sigma 150-600 Sport, I am in love!!!! Build quality Canon L what???? This thing is a f*cken tank. Feels like my first real big boy lens. I gotta get it adjusted and stuff but right out of the box it is shooting tack sharp.

addition to the stable....
Sony RX10 IV
On September 12th, I purchased a RX10 III. The IV was announced 2 days later
I kept the camera for 14 days got my feet wet with it and was so amazed by its flexibility and daily-use power. But the improvements on the IV made me return the III and look forward to the IV. The biggest improvement is on the AF system, which was good but not spectacular on the III. The IV has the new Sony Exmor RS sensor and provision for on-chip AF. It has the same high-density tracking AF system as the A6300 and A6500 and it's autofocus algorithms are the same as the A9, with 315 on-chip phase-detection AF points. It's also the first Sony RX series camera with a touchscreen. Anyways it should arrive Thursday.
Also picked up another 600EX-RT

It came with a bag, a card, and an extra battery... for the same price as everywhere else.
Main purpose is to carry it in Disney. I could have done without the 55-210, but if I end up liking the camera, I'd probably end up picking up another lens anyway.

Should be good. I think I've seen it for a tad bit cheaper last years Black Friday. Or maybe it was the same price but they included a gift card.
but i don't recall any extra goodies like a bag or battery.

The Sony will be way better if you want a commuter camera. It's just smaller and lighter without sacrificing image quality which is exactly what people want to deal with on a day to day basis. It also has a much better build quality than the low end Canons.
Nice pick up.

Weight is more of an issue than money...
Nikon D500 DX camera body (no built-in flash)
Nikon 16-80mm ED DX lens
Nikon 10-20mm AF-P DX lens
Nikon 70-300mm AF-P DX lens
Nikon 85mm Macro DX lens
Smallest Nikon flash
Nikon D7200 DX camera body
Nikon 35mm FX lens
Nikon 50mm FX lens
Medium-sized, old Nikon flash
Nikon D300 DX camera body (not D300S)
Nikon 70-210 mm f/4-5.6 AF-D Macro lens with two Nikon close-up lenses to focus to 1:1. (This is an old lens that you may need to look up to convince yourself that there is such a thing as a real macro zoom.)
Tripod, head, focusing rack.
Two Nikon 90-deg. finders. One fits D500. The other fits the other bodies.
Misc. Nikon FX lenses, mostly zooms. I will fill in details as I can round them up. Almost all are in excellent condition, for sale, and will be listed on Nikonians by June.
Nikon F100 film camera
(Most of my photography happens when I'm either traveling--about 10 weeks a year--or doing macro work, often of plants, flowers, bugs, etc. I have recently cut the size and weight of the gear I usually take when I'm traveling to one DX camera body; four small and lightweight DX lenses (three zoom and one macro--all four have the latest version of Nikon VR, Vibration Reduction) with protective filters and shades; the smallest Nikon flash plus a folding reflector; a small two-sided, folding daylight reflector; lots of fast memory cards in a small waterproof case; a couple of camera batteries with their dedicated charger; and two sets of batteries for the flash. All this gear fits in a medium-sized, 10-year-old Tamrac soft case that came with a removable and foldable waterproof cover--I trust it--everything stayed dry enough to work during a very hot and wet week in Vietnam. If I am going to a place I will likely never get back to, I'll take an extra DX body, a lens or two, and an extra camera battery charger as backups, in a larger bag that holds the waterproof bag as well--you can only get so many carry-on bags on airplanes these days. I have a decent tripod and head that are largely used for macro work, but they come along on car trips, as does the backup gear. When shooting away from home, I always take a small Windows laptop loaded with Lightroom Classic, two USB 3.0 card readers, two small HDDs for backups, and the usual cables, all in a separate bag.)
