Of course it's a Leica.
I know a couple of people that work at the Leica store in DC... the discounts they can give me are still not enough to make me want to dabble with them.

A few units were found to have a focusing issue with the left sensors...it was blown WAY out of proportion by the ignorant morons on the internet...mainly at dpreview....bunch of worthless jackasses with no lifes and no real knowledge.
I had two bodies at one point...neither one had an issue.

Playing around with a photo for a potential calendar for my car club.
Have at it....critique away.
My theme for the calendar is lifestyle. Not really centering on owners cars so much as the owners and what they do that involves their cars. This is a test photo I did (self timer) to help generate excitement with in the club.

Just a nice FYI for car people.
That white challenger in the background on the rack. Its one of the special drag strip only challengers sold through dodge. My guy just finished dropping the Viper V10 in to it the other day. SIIIIICK.

very cool - I'm a huge fan of the Viper V10.
btw if you're bored and/or feel like saying something, the person who mentioned the D800 focusing is the most recent post on my FB.... no pressure though

I like the lighting, I like the color, if don't like the beam on the left edge of the photo, and also I wonder how it would look if the verticals were straightened
edit: verticals partially straightened, if you completely straightened them I think you would lose too much of the image

I thought the Drag Pack came with the V10 from the factory?
I like the image a lot. The angled verticals don't bother me in an image like this. Somehow I feel like they help to give dimension and a sense of space - like your brain knows it must've been a wide angle lens to distort things and automatically gives that consideration when interpreting. Or something like that.
My eye travels it as it should, focusing mainly on the two people and the car in the foreground.
In a perfect world I'd wish for a little more separation between your heads and the background. I wouldn't want the DoF limited in an image like this, so you'd be left doing it with off camera lighting, and I realize that changes the whole concept - not suggesting you should.
I really like how much of the shop environment you included on the right edge of the frame.
Also, I have to disagree with Rubin about the bar on the left side of the frame. It completes that section of the photo, framing the car, and stopping my eye from wandering off the image in that direction. I like it.

The camera was reading level when I took the image...but I could probably straighten it a hair to the center beam near the guy on the left. But even with my 24mm supposedly being aspherical, dancer is correct again on the wideness of the lenses causing distortion making it nearly impossible to have all the verticals straight.
The color is what surprised me, I keep fighting with it being too warm or just right.

I just hope this gets the other members lit up enough to take action to get this calendar made.
I get what you're saying - that you wanted to preserve the beam to show the whole lift - and that is fine - I just don't like how close it is to the edge of the photo - if it was a wider shot with space in between the beam and the edge I would like it better. But I know there may be limitations with lens and space etc.

I hated the idea before... but then started to see some really cool shots with it... I think it's how they are used. There occasions where you can do some really neat shots with the fisheye, but then there are other occasions where it's just not right. I've seen people use it for weddings and the bride's face was a little distorted... Yeah, you don't want to do that to a bride on her big day

Agreed.
post pic plz.
fisheye is good, used sparingly and appropriately
I have an Induro carbon tripod I'll sell you. One leg is busted, it lasted me about 2 weeks. What a godforsaken piece of shit. Sorry I know that wasn't too helpful. Call it a moderate rant.
Ok, talk to you later.

Induro has a 3 or 5 year warranty for their products. A call to them would clear this up.
I busted a leg bushing a few months after getting mine. I called them up, and new bushing was on before the end of the week.
I'm using a Manfrotto 055XPROB + 488RC2 Ball Head now. beautiful setup
I also have a smaller Manfrotto that I use when I don't want to lug the big thing around - like if I'm riding my bike.
