So, last month I was trying to rent a waterproof P&S for my upcoming honeymoon.

An AZ member, Moeroon, has very kindly rent me his camera for free. I did get the package yesterday at work, and my fiancee was very, very happy with it as well.

Just wanted to share it here.

Moeroon (David), again, thank you very much for this and I'll take care the best of it while using it in Bali. My fiancee also said thank you very much, David.

The more I see of the Nikon V1 with the F mount adapter, the more I'm itching to mess with it.

Is it just me? Or does it seem like there are waaaay more "talk" about the release of the 5DMIII than Nikon's D4/D800 release? Almost my entire Facebook is about the 5D (between Adorama, Digital Trend, and friends' "sharing"). Also all the emails I've gotten from B&H, Adorama etc.etc just in the past 24 hours. This wasn't so when Nikon made their announcements. Is this just better marketing? Or the popularity is simply THAT much higher on Canon? (sorry, I don't mean to spark a "Canon vs Nikon" debate, just pointing out my observation)

Yeah I noticed that as well. I think its because the 5D3 has been in 'hype' stage for so long, whereas there wasn't much buzz about the D800. It might be just better marketing too. Also I think another reason Canon is more popular is because of the price difference compared to Nikon, although I think you're going to see the tide turn a good amount here with the release of all the pricing on this new stuff... The 5D3 and its accessories make the D800 seem "affordable"!!!

Well you probably have more friends that shoot Canon. Also all of the "fan pages" for photography posted the same about Nikon's D4/D800 just as much when they were announced.

maybe so with having more friends shooting Canons, but as for the "fan pages" goes... I don't think it was this much on my FB (with Nikon releases). And again... the emails from all the camera retailers I got this morning were noticeably higher (than the Nikon releases).

I follow B&H, Adorama and about 20-30 more camera pages. All of them mention the Nikon releases. I saw Nikon information for days before and after the release.

Yes there could be more, I'm not signed up for e-mails as such though.

I was desperately looking for some event photos I needed in my Lightroom (and unsuccessful btw, thankfully I had uploaded them all at fullsize to Zenfolio, and I am currently downloading them all from there - it's around 3.5GB, and that's just JPG's - they're here, somewhere... I just can't find em ) and so while in the process I hit "All Photos" and browsed the metadata and saw this interesting EXIF infos, basically showing the various cameras and lenses I've shot with over the past years. The library is very incomplete because I've had to incessantly dump photos onto DVD or other drives just to clear space on the drive but still I've left a good variety of photos on there enough to give a good sampling of the equipment I've used, whether it be owned or borrowed or rented. Anyways thought you might like to see. I would also be curious to see yours.

It's a pretty simple statement and should make someone think about the difference of the two bodies. Just to buy the 5D3, to have the latest body, when what you have works for you.

Damn pixel-peeper.com, they are always going thru my Flickr photostream for samples, I wouldn't mind it so much but they don't always pick my best photos to be "dissected" and then it leads to the damn Russian photography forums arguing over image qualities using something (of mine) that might not have been the best photo to be used in a debate in the first place

What ISO are those at, srika? My old Rebel had really bad noise banding at 1600 and is a large reason why I got rid of it. The 50D is much less noticeable, unless you go over ISO 2000.

I don't know about the sample photos but the HDR I posted is at 100.

I typically get banding if I try bringing up my exposure to much in post.

yeah, you'll only see it if you bring up the exposure or the fill light. hence why it rears its ugly head in HDR.

Have you tried Topaz DeNoise? It works pretty good on light banding from pushing the exposure.

I mention in here before about DeNoise and how it has a preset for Canon 5D banding.
