Hmm, there's gotta be a catch. As in, they somehow need to have some kind of revenue coming in. My best guess is they're making it free now in order to penetrate the market, then do transaction later on.
Reason I'm saying this is that it looks very well made and not just some clunky software put together by a single developer. So I have a feeling there will be charges later on.
What is the best program for stitching panoramas? Is it PS? I tried Zoner photo studio and i'm sure their stuff works in some applications but it didn't work for the low light images I was trying to stitch. I want something that I can actually move the images manually to get them dialed in. Zoner tries to do a lot of it automatically. It might have more functions that I don't know about but I couldn't figure out how to make it work. LR won't do panos on its own, correct?

PS has it. It's does a much better job than say a few yrs ago. I also allows manual adjust as well. Though I've never used the manual part.

I find that by looking at other GOOD photography gets my mind working in various directions. Then I go see if I can duplicate it or twist it to make it my own.
I should check up on t again, but last time I looked when they posted an event it was last minute and maybe happening
Yea last event was May, then prior to that was a cancelled event in December

Man, there has got to be more than one, to be more active. In DC, on meet-up.com, I belong to at least 10 photo groups. I don't shoot with all, but they give me ideas for shooting.
Also being President of one of the local Photo clubs has given me contacts beyond thinking. As well as being part of the local yearly Photo Expo.
I will have to check out meetup.com for groups. I think part of the problem is my wife is kind of interested but we are very different photographers and I just need to carve out time to do it by myself. I prefer to spend a lot of time in one area or searching for something and she gets bored with that so I tend to feel stressed some of the time.
I have a couple of shots left on a roll of film that I want to expose before getting the film developed, maybe I will venture out this weekend. We are supposed to have some clouds so I can at least get interesting sky in some shots.
Well I wouldn't really want to photograph around SF anymore anyways.
There's been a huge surge lately in photo thefts here. In broad daylight or in crowded touristy places. Heck there was a story recently of a guy backing out of parking spot after putting his camera gear in the trunk of his hatchback. Thief broke the window into his trunk and stole his gear as the owner was backing out
Or a little bit back a news camera crew was robbed while broadcasting live on TV.
I will have to check out meetup.com for groups. Clouds??? Just don't take normal shots of them. Throw on a 10 or 15 stop ND filter and smooth the shit out of them.

Can anyone give a recommendation for a new camera bag/pack? This is what I'm using right now but one of the zippers is giving up and I don't think it will be worth it to try and fix it.
I also need something a bit larger, as it's a struggle to carry my camera w/lens + 2 extra lenses and external flash in it. Let me know your suggestions.

Think Tank..., they have a bag for just about any use. And have great customer service!
I bought a bag used from an online B&S board for my son, when it showed up, no tripod straps. I called ThinkTank to buy them, was sent to me free, no charge for straps or shipping.
By coincident I saw that same Tamrac bag yesterday at Winners (Canadian TJ Maxx) and it's pretty small, it's meant for a mirrorless body and maybe one other small lens.
I have a Lowepro Slingshot 302 and it's great, although I gotta admit, it's a bit big now that I've gone all mirrorless. You can maybe look into the smaller version like the Slingshot 200 or whatever it's called.
All that being said, I just want to mention something... A couple months ago I came across a great deal in craigslist for a Think Tank sling and I absolutely love it! I never understood why they were so expensive but after buying it, I realized the build quality is simply top notch. I looked into it and turns out, the 2 guys that started Think Tank used to work at Lowepro but decided to leave the company and start their own brand. They ARE pricy but worth the money, and especially if you find a deal like I did. The lady I bought it from didn't even use it, had tags and extra pieces still sealed in plastic, she bought it and realized that it was simply too much bag for her needs, so yeah... I got lucky on that find
don't get me wrong, Lowepro makes great stuff I just think the Think Tank bags are made a tad better and certain features are more cleverly thought out in design, I've owned several Lowepro bags, and currently still have 2 of them. I still have the Flipside 500 which is HUGE and I only really use it when I need to carry a lot of stuff, and as mentioned already, I have the Slingshot 302... and yeah, I think the Slingshot 202 would fit the bill (for you). Because the Slingshot 100 is too small, and I believe more or less for mirrorless, where as the 302 is big enough for a DSLR WITH battery grip, which you don't have.
