anyone here use Capture One? I'm curious about it, I know there's a 30 days free trail, but I'm kinda worried that I'll like it too much (vs Lightroom), it only it wasn't $299

I've heard great things about it but it is kinda pricey.
The tethered feature is supposedly amazingly fast compared to LR.

what's got me intrigued is their "Keystone" feature... it's a better way of correcting perspectives especially with architectural stuff. I just don't know if it's worth paying just for that capability
from the comments looks like some people having issues downloading... but if this is true... it's worth getting (and it's free!). I use the Color EFex Pro and Silver EFex Pro a LOT
so, it's time to get a new computer... In the past, I was always a PC guy... but about 3 years ago, my old Gateway laptop (a tablet actually) started dying.... and around the same time, my wife bought herself an iMac, so she offered me her 13" 2010 MacBook Pro.... At time time, I was a bit hesitant to switch since I had no experience with Macs before, but I took it because at the time I was thinking "money saved NOT buying a new computer is more money for camera gear" But now, I've gotten used to it... so, I'm going to stay with Macs...
Initially, I was going to just get another 13" MBP, but then I got to thinking since I don't get new computers often (like I do with cameras), I might as well go with a 15" MBP instead... But here's my question... Is it worth getting the higher end model of the 2 15" MBP? Or will it be redundant for "my" needs? I AM starting to use Photoshop more, but even there, I'm not doing crazy multiple layers.... but then again, I "could" in the future as I explore more into different Photoshop techniques.
Can anyone chime in?
Oh, and as much as I'd like to wait until the next MBP's announcement, I don't know if I can wait that long.
I've been kicking the original rMBP as my main computer for last year in half. I use a Thuderbolt monitor. Since I put my W7 PC to rest. It's fully spec'd. And still running great, I just put El Capt on it today. It has i7 chip and 16gb RAM.

But enough with the hype, let’s get into the specs.The weather and dust sealed X1D sports a 50MP CMOS medium format sensor that promises 14 stops of dynamic range and an ISO range of 100 to 25600.As you might have already guessed, the X1D uses a new line of lenses, dubbed XCD, with an integral central shutter. Shutter speeds range from 60 minutes to 1/2000th of a second and the system offers full flash sync all the way to that 1/2000th mark. At launch you have a 45mm f/3.5 and a 90mm f/4.5 lens to choose from, but all 12 H System lenses can be used with an adapter.The camera also boasts a Nikon-compatible hot shoe, 3-inch 920K-dot touchscreen LCD, a 2.36M-dot XGA electronic viewfinder, integrated Dual SD slots, GPS, Wi-Fi, 1080/30p HD video capability, a USB 3.0 Type-C connector, and a Mini HDMI port. Separately, the 45mm and 90mm lenses will cost $2,295 and $2,695, respectively; and more lenses will be along “shortly,” including a 30mm around Photokina time.
