oh damn
Amazon has a very hot Prime Day spotlight deal on SanDisk Extreme SD cards. This is the latest version of their Extreme line, UHS speed class 3 topping out at 90MB/s. This is even faster than their previous “Extreme Plus” line. This deal is only available to Amazon Prime Members. See our Prime Day coverage.

I shoot people
When I was involved with Fashion Week, a bunch of models contacted me through Facebook asking for pictures, so I'd give it to them... then they'd post/share it on Instagram/facebook but AFTER they butchered the pictures using Instagram filters AND THEN they'd tagged me... At that point I usually untag myself

FML.
5D classic
the mirror popped out on the 5D... it was supposedly fixed.
Anyone know if Canon Irvine will still service it?
if not I'll have to find a place local in the SF Bay Area

So far so good, i can see stuff again thru the viewfinder. AF is working. metering seems to be working too.
Just cant take a picture yet until the glue cures more.
Mirrorless 5D
This is the back of the mirror, luckily it didnt break when I took off the lens and it fell out of the camera.
The arrows indicate where i put 4 small drops of superglue, the same spots where canon put their junk adhesive.

Following up from above, my fix has held up well during my trip to Europe. Took about 1200 pictures. No issues with AF or metering
If I can make it out to Laguna Seca, that would be the real test as I was shooting in continuous mode when the mirror detached

Anyone have any good suggestions for camera gear storage in my house? I've definitely out grew storing everything in my Lowepro Flipside 300 (which also needs to be replaced)
i currently have random lenses and gear laying around my room in my bookshelf, floor or desk.
doesnt necessarily need to be a hard case, just something to protect the items from dust/crap and can maybe shoved into a bookshelf

Get some cut up foam and a use a drawer. I use a Pelican insert on a armoire shelf.

Reminds me of the guy who strapped a Sony A7S to his helmet as an action camera

All that heavy hardware, and tie straps are the anchor of the camera..., sad dumbass!
A camera plate screwed into the corner bracket would work better.

it actually appears to be a pretty thought out rig...this is the kind of stuff you never see on behind the scenes of movies/show, etc...but this is exactly what the grip dept does and it gets the job done.

Bye, bye, 800e..., sad to let you go. Now, to wait until a XT-2 is in stock...... I had one on hold Thursday, told them to sell it. Didn't want to buy until I sold D800e, more pressure on me to sell it.

Damn. Not much more than I got for my 800

It's about what I expected. Saw the price of a used D800(e) drop $500, the day the D810 was announced. But it's $400 more than what my local guy would give.

That's awesome Jeff! Gorgeous shots! Did you mount and mat the prints yourself?

One thing I forgot to mention, my son was awarded as well. He was one of ten finals for the school aged competition, out of 160 entries. Was really cool to be up on stage with him!
