Cherries and pears in the background are fake. Apples are real.
Very realistic looking even in person. Even the weight feels right. So much so that it wasn't until I realized I couldn't bite into it did I realize they weren't real.

Creepy guy in the mirror.
I did a little messing around with a backlit leaf... Generally I didnt get the results I wanted... I will try again.

I sandwiched the leaf between two uv lens filters. Then placed them on top of a plastic food container. I then set my strobe up at 1/64 pointing at the food container and triggered remotely. The food container diffused the light.

Some shots from my son's (he's in number 2 on the right) soccer games today. I never really shot action before so a lot didn't turn out as I had hoped. And it was freakin cold!

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
Kite festival in DC... Cloudy and hard to expose things... I liked this one although the exposure is still off and the tilt is a little too aggressive.

Not sure HOW much photoshop or post work was done...but there is horrible compression in the blacks of the car itself.
As far as how it was done....if there wasn't any sort of lighting effect created in post (and I think there was)....it looks like they either found a practical source or found how/where to hang a decent size practical source straight above the car.
More or less the way a car would be professionally lit on a stage.

you can tell someone is hating when they criticize something that has nothing to do with the actual photo itself (color compression). I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the original image does not have any compression issues.

thanks srika.
took me years counting pennies to get the stuff I have. I'm not spoiled or anything, and i'm certainly not going to let some 32 year old trash talker distract me.

If I am looking at it on my monitor (and both images he has posted contains it) And I look in the deep blacks and see compression artifacting. That IS a criticism on the photo itself.
It takes away from the image and trying to look at it seriously.
I had a black and white portrait I shot that i had the same issue with in post. I noticed and went back and fixed it. Any photo I am going to show anyone in a serious manner, or especially have printed, I check between both my computers to make sure I have no transparent issues such as that.
Doesnt matter if did not originate on the digital neg...it matters on what you are presenting people.
Call it hating all you want...When I see mindless defense of one's work rather than stepping back on taking everything into consideration, I just see lack of maturity and professionalism.
I've said it before...maybe people should actually read...they might learn something.

I dont trash talk a photo with some skill to it. I said nothing that inferred trash talk.
I think you need yank your sippy cup out of your ass. Not everyone is going to immediately say, "OMG thats an amazing shot" because quite frankly, its not. Saving your pennies for good gear doesnt make you a good photographer out of the box.
I could critique the hell out of it, but I dont think youre mature enough to even try and listen.

hey Johnny, what level of compression are you saving with your photos? I would be curious to see that same photo at the same size, with the least possible compression.
