thanks for the video! I've looked at a couple other ones, and they act like they're performing brain surgery or something, making it sound rather intimidating

It's very simple, just apply drops and swipe from on side to another. You may have to do it more than once, hell more than twice. Last time I needed three swabs to get it clean. Do not use one side more than once.

Thats why companies get away with charging what they do for cleanings.

Shame too. If you actually took critique and dropped the ego we might be able make a decent shooter out of you.

I have no ego. I actually take critiques pretty well. I learn from them, even though I don't post them. I don't care if you call me a liar or not, it doesn't phase me. I'm not here to make friends, life's full of them. I chose not to post up my pictures on these boards simply because they were the same style as my TSX, just different subjects. Every person has a different style/approach to photography and this, I suppose, is a new one. When HDR first came about, i'm sure people hated it and thought it was out of the norm. This is no exception.

I don't care about your approach, you aren't doing anything new or unique. .

Your compositions are elementary at best. You have no sense of space or balance, your choice of locations is weak, and your understanding of how to light a subject isn't there.

I could actually rip that s2000 picture to shreds, but then I'd be helping you.

Then why even be here, that's what this board is about?

I've made some great friends here. If you're not here to make friends, what are you doing, trying to brag? This forum especially on this side of it (Ramblings) is about making friends, helping them out and having fun! It you don't want that, might as well leave.

I agree with jupitersolo I learned a lot from being on this forum here and there I know back then I took some criticism pretty hard.. I knew I didn't like it it either but I did take what a lot of them have said and it has helped.

A lot great people in here and some great and interesting stuff we all get to shoot can be shared here.

This is far from a one-way street, we are a community that has been around for a long time and we have seen each other progress and improve, discussing a wide range of everything involved with photography, down to constructive criticism of our shots. If anything, I'd like to see us offer MORE analysis for our shots, Sarlacc has it dead on when he said this:

That's what this board is about, we don't criticize to make ourselves look or feel better, we criticize because we actually want to help. But if you are not open to receiving criticism, then this is probably not a good place for you.

I never thought I was a badass photographer with the camera phones, but I remember I was running around telling people:

"Hey, LOOK! I can take picture of you with my cell phone, and tag it to your number, so when you call me, YOUR picture appears on my phone!!!!"

Me, too!

And right on. All of it. This place holds a lot of responsibility for feeding my interest in photography, as well. It's all your fault, Dan Martin!! :shakesfist:

You've got multiple mis-spellings in that sentence, and you're missing a period at the end.

Does that help?

One thing I like about this sub-forum compared to some of the camera forums out there is that it seems nine times out of ten the critics are pixel peeping and have more to say about things like sharpness and white balance than the actual merit of your photo.

You end up on a hard run after technology and gadgetry instead of trying to be a better photog.

I just wish I had as much time to shoot as I do to step in here.
