I miss my 03 CL-S :(
I'm not sure whether I liked the processing I did on this one or not, but it was a boring photo to begin with...

thanks! your shots are awesome as always.
GF decided to dye her hair black, first time in YEARS, shes was kind of sad to return to her natural color, so I fucked around and snapped some shots
"make this one blue, because I am sad about my hair"

Do you ever have a shot sitting in the back of your mind, waiting to be taken? I do sometimes, and this is what I've come up with.
I am a total noob to cameras and pictures. I like working with funky angles and focus and manipulating my camera to do stuff (as much as I can with a P&S, anyways ), but I'm as amateur as you can get.
Pictures taken with a Nikon Coolpix L100, edited on picnik.com. Told you I was an amateur. These pics are more than a year old, so I forget what I'd done to them. Nothing too fancy.
I was going to take this picture out on the beach, I think the setting and lighting would've been much better. But... I kinda needed those boots.
This was a spur-of-the-moment shot, I was cleaning out my interior and decided why not? It took a ton of tries, though. I wish I could get cameras with manual focus on my budget
Another spur of the moment shot. I think I got away without the biker noticing Wish the exposure was longer. Is that what it's called? Exposure? How long it takes for your camera to snap a picture?
I like this picture, another spur-of-the-moment. But when you get down to it, it's a picture of my headlight
Nothing close to anything you guys have, but any C&Cs would be greatly appreciated.

your shots are good starts, you have the composition down, just need to practice on the manual controls.
I recommend this book to anyone that I know is starting off, its just that good. Best $15 you'll spend in your photog career, gaurenteed!

I'll second the recommendation of Understanding Exposure. The only downside is it's going to increase your craving for a fully manual camera.
You can pick up used DSLR's very inexpensively these days. There are so many models that aren't in production any longer, but are still great cameras.

thanks jay, will do!
thanks, for that shot I used two AB400's. One was high camera left w/20 deg grid. Then I had another one at the end of the hallway hidden behind her with a 10 deg grid fired straight at her hair. The reflections on the walls are from that strobe behind her.

nice, this is critical to staying creative/fresh. When I come up with an idea i'll just punch it in my phone or write it down somewhere and keep a list.
shutter speed. I think you meant for your SS to be faster so that you would've "froze" the biker?

Thanks for the link to Understanding Exposure, I'll be picking that up soon
I agree with everyone about the shots of your girlfriend. I love her expressions as well
Yes! And the one's I pre-visualize are invariably my favorites.

found this really cool spot for car photo shoots...
someone's random car... I just wish I had "car buddies" in Vancouver for this, or better yet... I wish I had my Infiniti here
this was @f1.4... out of focus in the back, it would've been better @f2.2-2.8
