We were stuffing it in a whisk, tied to a steel cable. Dude that was swinging it was in his early 20s and had a few beers in him, so it didn't bother him to get a little burnt :p

The wads we were using would only burn ~10-15s. Doing it in an abandoned concrete tunnel with nothing around was fine. I wouldn't do this in places where there might be combustible stuff around - sparks fly everywhere.

just testing out a feature on my camera that I knew about, but never really used because it only works in JPEG. It's call "Multi Frame Noise Reduction" or MFNR. This was handheld @800ISO, straight from the SD card.

It makes sense to use multiple exposures since noise is random... The images must be aligned, and doing that in-camera is an interesting feature!

A couple of ways to do it manually using photoshop:
http://www.digitalphotopro.com/techn...multiple-shots
http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tut...ging-noise.htm

I've never tried it... I'm either using a tripod or shooting moving subjects in dark environments, where this would presumably not work.

^^^ Cool

Speaking of Flickr Explore, another one of my photos made it last week, but now it's gone, not listed anymore, does the status change?

yeah, they drop off sometimes. I don't know what that depends on. but if you use bighugelabs.com Explore tool it will show you all of your Explored photos, regardless of whether they dropped.

A very bright full moon tonight. If only I had something that zoomed a bit more than a EF-S 55-250mm lens. Someday...

Are you shooting with a crop body or full frame?

I really should try some moon shots with my 55-300 on my crop body. Never tried it before to see what it would be like.

to be honest 300mm on a 1.6x crop was too short.

but i was still able to get alot of detail out of the moon.
