Acura has tried FWD coupes in the past and I think we all know how that turned out.

Not gonna happen.

I saw the 09 tsx today!!! i was going home from playing some ball at the park and at the end of the parking lot, there was a nbp debadged tsx! the rear was better looking than expected with great styling lines on the body but the front was uglier than i expected....its picture wasnt worth being stored on my phones memory so i just walked away.

I'll laugh if they make a TSX coupe.... I would take the Genesis in the 2.0T flavor any day over it and at a lower price most likely, barring any discoveries that it has terrible driving dynamics or is boring to drive, that is...

The gauge cluster could do without that big silver circle in the speedo. Otherwise I think it looks pretty good.

They're shooting themselves in the foot with that fugly ass grill though. It will NEVER grow on me

It appears you are out in left field.
The integra was miles away the better car than the RSX.

chunky like the US Accord? Wonder what the Europeans think of the new Accord/TSX then? they like their cars smaller.

true.

but i read something interesting in the latest motor trend, which previewed the new TSX. it said that the reason for the bigger size was for the europeans. i don't remember exactly what it said, but the increase in size was due to the diesel engine.

The diesel fit just fine in the old Accord - it's the same size as the gasser I4. More likely it would be for a V6. The size increase for Europeans makes sense since when compared to a Civic it was not that much bigger. In Europe the line up is: Fit - compact, Civic - mid size and Accord - full size.

A limo. The 5 series and E class are full sized cars in Europe. There are no cars like the CrownVic, 300 or G8.

So where's the pricing? We're less than 3 weeks from launch and nothing? Is this going to be like last time where we get a shot at a window sticker from Hawaii before the official news from Honda? Actually they should be arriving Hawaii by now.

That video has the exterior growing on me, but I don't see how I could ever love it.............. Let's see more chops of the front "guillotine grill" taken off. That was a serious improvement

The first two I'd believe but no way for the diesel - that should be about $1,000 above the base. Honda won't be stupid enough to load up the diesel and price itself out of the market - or would it?

So I'm confused has th type s TSX been confirmed? Will it be a turbo? The Design for the 2009 is not too bad however I would rather see a smaller version of the RL as the TSX with SH-AWD that would be hot.

No on the Type S and I would expect anything till MMC time. The definitely won't announce anything till the new TL is out because of power and pricing overlap.

Looking at it from a logical perspective, I am guessing we won't see the SH-AWD on this generation TSX either. The only engine that would require the AWD for torque reasons would be the 2.3 turbo from the RDX and it has be said by Acura that the turbo (or intercooler) is to tall for the TSX's hood and moving it would increase turbo lag time. That doesn't sound good.

The 2.4, diesel and any V6 they would put in the TSX wouldn't make enough torque to need the AWD and it would be a US only vehicle with limited sales. That is hard to justify the development dollars.

Honestly since Acura is deciding to keep that stupid ass grill I hope the TSX completely tanks like the RL is doing recently or even worse, maybe they'll actually listen for once and change it once its too late. Anyone who sincerely likes that grill without a single doubt in their mind or feeling of insecurity should be dickslapped silly

That seems about right - tho the diesel and type S won't be around till MY10 at the earliest.

The diesel is certainly not a US only drivetrain - the diesel would probably be offered world wide - certainly in Europe and it has already been announced for the US. The V6, who knows. SH-AWD seems pretty obvious, but then again many folks also assumed the 09 would get something other than the same ole 2.4 I4 drivetrain.

I just saw the review on Motorweek. Pretty positive overall. They mentioned a base MSRP of $28,860 (without destination?) - like current gen the same for 6MT and 5AT. No mention of how much for the tech package.

I guess I should have clarified that, I meant the AWD would be a US market only.

I think the RL is nice but for 52,000 with tech pacakge I would opt for an A6 or an E Klasse. Thats the same problem with the TSX I much rather have an A4 or 3 series for the price.

...but you gotta admit Motorweek is a "softball" review.

...they loved the powertrain?!?!...sure the manual tranny...but they made no comments about how the engine is pretty much the same?

Styling: The only thing they did not like was the rear?

i wonder if you could add another chrome piece to the bottom of the front grill as an option or accessory so that it doesn't look like it's bottom teeth are missing. also, isn't the chrome piece there for a shield too in case a small rock or debris doesn't hit something like the radiator or other equipment in the engine compartment?

For the mass market audience the review Motorweek does is about on par. This is an initial review - they didn't do the usual track thing and give 0-60 and 1/4mi times along with mileage - maybe there'll be another review later.

I didn't get that comment about the rear styling.
