As for the stopping distance, if you look at the test sheet, it's from 70-0mph. Still that's nothing impressive at all, not only do the brakes suck, but the tires are also another reason. If you refer back to some tests on the TL, you can find how the TL 6MT with crappy Turanzas would take 189ft, while with the summer tire option, it can stop in 160ft. Sources:

I have no idea why Honda/Acura continues to use mediocre tires. Not only do they make the braking distance longer, but they also pull much less g's. Based on those sources again, with the Turanza's, it can pull 0.81g only, with the summer tires, it would pull 0.89g, and with the A-spec model, it would pull 0.9, and with the Type S, even higher, at 0.93g.

I don't for one minute think that C&D is a very credible publication, especially after that recent shamble. But then I guess I'd be reading 3 mags and thats it - CAR, EVO, and Topgear - who don't even review a lot of the models we have in the States.
And that also doesn't mean that there aren't some credible writers left @ C&D. But now I approach their reviews with more caution.
If you like the article, read it. If you don't, don't.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
EDIT: I like R&T too, so I guess that would make 4 mags.

I recommend Automobile magazine. It has a bright red banner at the top with "Automobile" in plain font at the top. They almost exclusively cover cars that are available in North America. Its rare that I read Automobile, then say to myself, "wtf were they thinking?"

I thought most reviews have 60-0 stopping distances?

Yea, that's possible, but we won't know for sure. Besides 15000 is only for the TSX, that did not include the European Honda Accord, all they had to do was rebadge the car and make some minor changes, so at 15000, it might sound low, but they should be making money.
lol, yea, you are right about the stopping distance, but C/D does it differently, probably because most people speed nowadays :P

I feel the need...
I finally got around to driving an '09 6MT. It just doesn't feel like enough of an upgrade to make me compelled to purchase. I did like the interior a bit better than the pics, still think the exterior is meh.
And to repeat a common refrain, it's getting porky for an NA 4 banger.

saw a new 09 TSX that on a regular street not near any acura dealership, so i guess i saw my first purchased or leased TSX on the road. you can tell it's a TSX from a mile away cause of the unusual grill that no other car on the road has.

Stand out by being ugly = bad (Acura)

But for the grill, the new TSX is typical Honda - elegantly bland with a dash of sportiness.

I've now seen two on the road, both black, and both driven by attractive women
Anyways, I too, think it looks GREAT! A SHIT ton more road presence, and an awesome combination of elegance & aggressiveness.

I think it looks great, it's just the details that are lacking. The brick pattern grille inserts where it should have been honey combed. The halogen taillights when it should've been LEDs.
And I love the girlle.

It's the interior that I can't stand. In the old TSX, even with the fake metal, you really couldn't tell at first glance. And even if you could, it was pretty convincing.
But in the new one, it's a no brainer. They definitely went cheap with that in the new one vs the old one.

Even with the fake aluminum trim, I think the interior overall looks great for a car in that price range. Nicer than the 1G TSX which I think is great also. I like the gauges, but I like the Honda/Acura blue backlit gauges more. Very cool, doubt the new gauges are the same... are they?

IIHS Top Safety Pick
http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/23/a...-pick-by-iihs/
While the last model (2005-2008 with side airbags) scored "good" in frontal, and "acceptable" in side impact testing, the 2009 model received the highest scores ("good") in both tests. When combined with the improved rear crash test results (seat and head restraint design), the new TSX earned the Institutes's "Top Safety Pick" rating.

Article from Temple of Vtec...
Rumor: TSX diesel delayed indefinitely; V6 is coming, though
Earlier this year at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, Honda CEO Takeo Fukui announced that 2009 would see Honda's first clean diesel engine to be sold in the USA. Though it was stated that the diesel engine would appear in an undisclosed Acura model, it was all but common knowledge that the TSX would be the first model to get the diesel engine.
Fast forward nearly 10 months, and we've received an anonymous tip asserting that the i-DTEC TSX has been delayed indefinitely (if not cancelled outright). According to the anonymous sources, the 6MT version of the i-DTEC TSX has successfully cleared emissions certification, but the automatic-equipped version has been unable to pass certification. According to these sources, Acura believes that the demand for a TSX diesel would be greatly compromised if it were only offered with a 6-speed manual, so the decision was allegedly made to put the TSX diesel on indefinite hold.
That's the bad news. The good news is that a V-6 version is said to be coming soon - it's supposedly being "fast-tracked" to make up for the missing diesel. We're still seeking any details we can uncover on that powertrain.
