That being said, I hope they add turn signals on the mirrors, and a few other goodies to keep it competitive. The IS350 is more expensive by a longshot (at least in Canada if you get any options at all on it, it's about $8k more), and the IS250 is too slow but costs the same amount as the TL. Barrage from Lexus indeed. The ES350 is the only thing that will come close, and it's going to be a grandmamobile like usual. Nice, fast, but cushy and soft.

I cannot find the article but it was regarding luxury car sales of the past year. They commented that the TL was still the most sold midsize sedan & its sales blew up in 2004 but cooled off dramatically in 2005. They also predicted that sales would actually decline in 2006 - new competition from Lexus makes this probable IMHO.

There was a thread and someone asked what the refresh was going to look like, and someone posted the Chinese TL, and everyone jumped all over him for it...and rightfully so.
Can we lose the "STAR STAR STAR 2007 MODEL PICS PAGE 9 STAR STAR STAR" shiat at the top? It's wrong as far as I am concerned.
Acura MAY actually make the 07 look like this, but for now, that is just speculation. Similiar to the Inspire taillights on the 2nd gen TLs. First they were Japan only, then they made them here.

Can't say this China version looks any better at all and nice brake light on the bottom of the bumper, has to be great for safety having the third light on the ground out of site of higher up vehicles...

White lights are lower in picture cuz Chinese license plate is "Long" european style.
However I am positive we will get mirror blinker and clear tailight as well as 10HP increase from Intake/Exhaust mod

The Lexus ES keeps moving upmarket, and there's quite a price gap between the TL and RL.
They can keep adding features to the TL and move it upmarket.

Someone change the thread title. Please.
I don't think the J35 will be in the next TL. I have a feeling Honda is retiring that block. Look what they did with the Civic. Bye-bye old series and in with the R18 for that car. I have a feeling they'll develop a new engine for the Accord/TL/RL.
The Accord will probably go to 3.2L, and the TL will probably go to 3.5L, and the RL might up displacement to 3.8L or something.

YoungTL: I think the implication is that the 2007 refresh will get the J35 motor. When the 3rd generation V6 motor comes out, I imagine it'll be in the 2008 Accord first.

The 295HP makes sense, however if it could have been achieved from the 3.2L engine, it'd be better due to lower peak torque and how that affects FWD cars. Unless if they are thinking of SH-AWD for the TL also. Then we need all the torque and power we can get

I just wish Honda would come out with a more aggressive version of the J35. If they did a J35 with the Heads and dual stage intake manifold off the Type S's J32a2, then it would peak ath around 300 maybe some more, but the power under the curve would be amazing and keep the car ver quick.

It seems obvious to me that Acura is going by way of Audi and will be trumpeting SH-AWD all the way.
300HP and FWD just don't mix.

"Acura TL News **To get 295HP J35 engine for '07? (page 10)**"
WOW, sounds familiar considering this is the same bullshit that was pushed before the current TL was released. So 5 years ago ACURA TL to get 295hp, and it didn't and now we have the new TL to get 295hp, yeha. I'm so excited, cause other companies moved past 300hp already, it was called reality.

Something has got to give here right? I meant with more HP and likely more torque I can only imagine how this thing is gonna be off the line given how my current 6MT '05 behaves
