Alright, I was at my local acura dealership (Acura 2000 in Brampton) today getting my oil changed for the first time on my TSX. I got to chatting with some of the dealers (my friends now, considering how often I go into the dealership, and I got some new TL info. (Official, I saw this printed up)
Unlike you Americans, we Canadians do not get 40 colour combinations. However, we will not be dissapointed. The following is an OFFICIAL list of the colour options for the 04 TL in Canada.
04 TL COLOURS:
TRIMS TL Nav Dynamic
Nighthawk Black Ebony or Caramel Ebony or Caramel Ebony
Satin Silver Metallic Ebony Ebony Ebony
Desert Mist Metallic Parchment Parchment Not Availiable
White Diamond Pearl Parchment Parchment Ebony
Anthracite Not Availiable Not Availiable Ebony
Abyss Blue Ebony or Caramel Ebony or Caramel Ebony
Redondo Red Not Availiable Not Availiable Ebony
Pearl Green Not Availiable Not Availiable Not Availiable
Apparently, the Dynamic package is being rumoured as being similar to the TL A-spec package. Rumour has it that the tires will be 18". I also overheard that the engine will be 3.4 litres, leaving room for a 3.8 litre for the new RL.
Now, in total, that gives you 20 different colour combos... No quartz leather though... Overall however, not to shabby.
Other new colour combos to report for Canada - RSX is now availiable ONLY with black interior, albeit with a new blue colour (same blue already availiable on the current EL). EL, MDX, and RL are now (some once again) availiable in WHITE.
There you go. More colour info than you could ever dream of... and yes, the proper way to spell colour is colour!!!!
J.
EDIT: Damn thing wont show my formatting job, so i had to colour co-ordinate the list. hope this is better.

I was trying to point out that the majority of the people on this board, if they were being honest, would want an RWD/AWD performance car in Acura's lineup rather than a car with Bluetooth and DVD-A. Would I pay more for AWD/RWD, yeah sure. Could Honda/Acura have done that with the TL and come in at a price point competitive with its closest competitors. Of course they could if they made it their goal! Infiniti has taken huge chances with the design of their cars. Some of their cars look butt ugly, but you can't help but admire some of the successes such as the G35. They took a chance. It seems to be working (judging from their sales).
And please, for you guys to be saying that "well Honda is a FWD company" like it is a company religion is not being honest with yourself. NSX and S2000 proves it's not their religion. It's a cost issue and Honda/Acura just doesn't want to take chances anymore. This is not the Honda/Acura we knew....in the 80's they said "why can't a Japanese manufacturer compete with the luxury makes" and came out with Acura and the Legend. That was when FWD was king. Now people want a little more and that slight performance edge is what they want, which is why it is so disappointing if it is true that the new TL or future models of Acura will not be FWD/AWD.
I think rumors that Honda wants to move downscale and start another division is an admission that internally Honda is having a debate over whether, with a predominantly FWD lineup, it is a more prudent strategy to move downscale rather than moving upscale. If this is true, it is a sad day for Honda.
I say this should be turned into an opportunity. Push the FWD designs down to the less expensive cars, use the Acura division to test and develop high-performance RWD and AWD systems, and recover some of those cost by implementing the Acura designs down to the Honda division so that Honda can have a mixed lineup of FWD/AWD/RWD cars that they can sell in higher volume. Will it happen? Probably not.
Lexus, BMW, Inifiti, Audi, Mercedes, they all have RWD cars...they aren't being stupid you know just for the sake of some phoney car philosophy.

But I am jealous, Wht with Ebony, we don't have that here!

You could always buy in Canada and import it to the US.

WOW!!! another peice of the TL Puzzle (the interior) finally comes to light. thats a nice looking interior!! look at the size of that navi screen!! im very glad to see that acura kept MOST of the styling elements of the concept with the production version, it looks fucking hot, i love it. the only questions left are the engine/drivetrain/suspension statistics

a new gate shifter... notice the difference, cam shift to 1 and 2? no more Gateshifting?
Also redline is still at 6900 rpms.. I guess it is the same Type-S engine tweaked to make some 280 HP.

WOW!! Shifters on the wheel it looks like. Sick as ever, Infiniti, Lexus are over in this division!!!! The back looks a little like the Caddy CTS. May give Acura the extra American market that was controlled by GM.

The inside is great, and the e-brake is off the floor. I hope there is an elaborate trip computer in the dash and I am glad it still has a four spoke steering wheel.

The side bolstering on the seats looks amazing, looks even more than the TSX. Damn the interior is nice as hell Lovin it. I think the rear end is very distinctive!!!!! Looks like an Autobahn killer!

Well, looks like I am not getting ventilated seats.
Also, no forward facing ignition. I guess there is no smart key.
Hey Lycos.... Does that cup holder have a cover?

Note to Infiniti: this is the proper way to use aluminum trim without making the interior look cheap..
