Mine came out to 185 grand. But it would be $10k less if it let you remove ceramics. I like that you can get manual seats.

$183,750

Really nice the customization options, kinda surprised though you have to pay $1200 for floor and trunk mats and $125 for wheel locks. Woulda thought those be standard, maybe Acura is trying to emulate Porsche too much

Anyone else notice the NSX using wheel bolts (like the Germans) instead of wheel studs and nuts?

I understand Acura is trying to make the NSX more premium and upscale, but I find it incredibly difficult to pay 10 times more for floor mats and a trunk tray that are likely made of the exact same material and come from the exact same manufacturing facility as all other Acura mats

This is what makes a Ferrari, a Ferrari; or a Lamborghini, a Lamborghini.

Acura is trying real hard to build up its upscale premium brand image.

^^yeah seems like it.

Seriously though $1200 floor mats? dafuq............

Well I guess when you can afford a 200k car you don't really worry about chump change $1000 'whatever'...just tell your assistant to add it to the list and order the car!

, agree I also cannot see paying 10x for something that is given away for free on a Accord

Whining is the wrong word - I'm sure he's pointing out the fact that your post(s) were nonconstructive and really make no sense whatsoever.

But hey, at least Porsche throws in free floormats on a brand new $175,000 GT3 RS

So ... does that mean the NSX will have the first floor mats in a production car that are made of vapor?

its not some straight line drag race. so hp shouldnt matter. you can see the amount of tire noise coming and RS4 was floating to the other side of the road. i bet NSX was with all season tires and still it can effortlessly beat it.

RS4 has 420bhp with AWD sport differential and dynamic ride control. it cost $70k in 2007 barebone.

2007 Audi RS4: Test Drive and Review
And make no mistake, the RS4 is a true supercar. Its over-the-top hardware makes it go, stop and turn with amazing speed and agility. At the RS4's heart is a 420 horsepower 4.2 liter V8 (link goes to photo) with FSI direct fuel injection. FSI improves throttle response and fuel economy (which isn't too bad, all things considered; I averaged 15.7 MPG). The 4.2 is used in other Audis, but the RS4's version is unique both for its higher 8250 RPM redline and the delicious noises it makes.

2007 Audi RS4 Review - The Truth About Cars
Until this week, Porsche’s Boxster was the champ. I could whip it through the turns at 70mph. For comparison’s sake, the nearly-as-nifty handling Miata could “only” do the twists at about 60mph. The RS4 dominated the two-mile stretch at 100mph, and if I wasn’t so ham-fisted it could have gone faster. Much faster.

i'm more surprised that 10 year old car which about 1/3 of the price of fully loaded NSX kept up this long on the twisties. he only stopped chasing because he blew out his tires which could've been 10 years old..

You are assuming the NSX driver really want to go extreme. we dont even know whether the owner was driving NSX or some loaner from Honda.
The point is car handlings of cars like RS4 and M3 hasnt been changed that much in past 10 years. and this very twisted road. not straight line. you can see enormous noise from RS4 tires. the car cost $70k in 2007 with practically no luxuries. NSX is true luxury everday supercar. i wont take unreliable Ferrari or Lambo for sight seeing trips.

i guess you didn't detect any sarcasm in my post..... this guy always talks about tires and tires... this video didn't prove anything... it's like comparing apples to... peanuts... RS4 driver was stupid even to follow the NSX while almost killing himself and passenger in the process.. if this was NSX vs R8, my comment would've been more sincere..

lets look at it this way.. it would've been sad if new NSX with new tires couldn't really get away further from a 10 year old crap car as you described.. doesn't make sense to compare these 2 cars.. different layout, pricing, year, tech on and on.. please find a video between NSX vs McLaren S570 or something similar.. which would be worth comparing...

i think it's the other way around since we know about its (s570's) performance.. and it doesn't have to be s570.. anything around that range for comparison would be nice..

Do us a favor and stay under your bridge.

I'm certainly not a Mopar guy, but it seems they're offering a car for nearly half the cost that breaks records on 13 different tracks.

This.

Who in their right mind would compare these two cars?

We don't know how these cars will perform with big all season tires and higher elevation. so you can't extrapolate there performance from track.

That's because only Acura would put "big all season tires" on a mid-engine supercar! McLaren knows better.

I haven't been following the new NSX news very closely but I guess it depends what Acura sought to do with the new NSX, the original NSX was actually marketed as the "everyday supercar". I agree though, it should come with some seriously sticky ultra high performance tires IMHO.
