If this releases cycle is accurate we haven’t seen 6 new models that are suppose to be release this year and with the New York auto show being delayed I think I the release of those models will be delayed too.

I have some doubts about the ILX coming out this year. We've seen TLX and MDX mules but nothing for the ILX. Unless Acura is planning to literally take the Civic and Acura-ize the vehicle with a few cosmetic bits and call it a day.

I though the new pilot was coming this year via temple of VTEC and their model matrix and there was spy shots of a plug-in pilot. Which I’m sure is for the next gen.

COVID-19 and all events getting cancelled. Also production will slow down.
I believe the TLX and MDX news but not the ILX.

I hope it'll be more than tacked on pieces. I realize that is AHM's usual M.O., but wider fenders and unique bumpers (ala RS4/5, C63, and M3) would allow them to be taken more seriously. I realize those aren't the intended targets, but since Type-S is their best offering, might as well go all out. Heck even the A-Spec TLX got unique bumpers, so why not the Type-S?

I think it depends how the body panels are designed....e.g. the CTR has flared fenders vs. the standard Civic and isn't much more than the touring trim, but they are a bit more subdued compared to those Euro examples. But I'd probably be happy with just unique bumpers and side skirts like the 3G, but the more differences the better

Manager at North Jersey dealer whom I've known for years told me today no Type S this year, will come out early next year. Sales are in the crapper this year, their lots are overflowed with 2020 models. 2021 TLX will be out this fall.

If the sales are bad, I wonder why they are waiting so long to release the regular TLX and why wait for the Type S for the next year. The tech just isn't good enough for the 2020 TLX which is why sales are down. No value. They need to drop the price and try to move them off the lot.

Some GMs are being told base in July with the Type S Sept/Nov time frame.
MDX in November with Type S early 21. Guess we'll see with this new social distancing. Acura plans to have a private event in April/May timeframe depending on how things are going. They've delayed the CTR drive.

On another note, looking at BMW's move from kidney grills to pig snout, maybe Acura doesn't have much to worry about! Good grief, the front of that 4 Series coupe looks absolutely horrible. Among gaping maws, Lexus spindle grill looks better.

Yup, if things don't improve anytime soon, there will be a lot of businesses hungry for a sale. It would be a good opportunity to score a good deal. The winners (i.e. the rich folks) that have tons of cash on hand will scoop up properties and other expensive items for dirt cheap. We're all taught to buy low, sell high, but realistically, how many of us are able to do that?

Deals were too good decided not to wait. Picked up a Black on Black M40i today. MSRP $70,505. Deals Capitalized Cost with discounts & rebates was in the high $50K's, car is a January 2020 build & had 18 miles on it. Am plus $30 a month over the 2018.
Had planned on a 2021 order but the local dealer had the exact car I would have ordered.
Let me bring it home overnight & was able to cruise some two lane blacktop moonshiner roads. Took it back the next morning & leased it.
Will do the Tail of the Dragon when the breakin is done.
Keeping my 440I till its lease runs out in June. Owe two more payments.

Well, things aren't looking too hot right now. Does anyone know how long Honda/Acura has a car on the production line to build up supply before it is released? Feel like the hope right now has to be that the 2.0T version is finalized and only the Type S is still in testing.

Took a quick run up the interstate to blow some pollen off. If you don't look to close you can see it. Was out last night interior lights up like a club without a Disco Ball, need to dial it down. Still trying to set up driver configuration. Way more computer stuff & nannies to change. So far have my default all in Sport for everything. Wife mode is a setting called Adaptive. Basicly Comfort + a GPS predictive of road surface to continually reset the basic Comfort defaults to handle bad road sections.

Still a little green here & there but its going to be this way for a few weeks. So here goes for better or worse.
All the vents & slots are functional. Radiator, oil cooler, secondary water cooler for the turdo's intercooler. brake cooling ducts, air curtain air effects system.
Fender vents are for the engine compartment hot air removal. Pressure to push the hot air out is generated by air coming in the front of the car.
Vents for rear wheel wells & full undertray. Physically the car & front seat setup are a shade wider than the 440 was. With no back seat car is about the same length as the 135is next to it.
Not much to see its all hidden under the plastic. 183 Cu In inline 6 DOHC TurboCharged advertised at 382 BHP @ 5500-6500 & 368 Ft Lbs @ 1850-4500
DynoJets are showing about 373.5 HP and 425.7 lb-ft lb-ft of torque, all at the wheels. Figure 10% drive train loss & its 410BHP against 382BHP advertised at the crank. Hard to say what the exact numbers are but the sub 4 second 0-60MPH & 116MPH quarter mile with a curb weight of 3457lbs suggest the dynos are closer than BMW to the actual number.
Personal settings for panel HUD has tachstrip
WAZE through CarPlay. 10" wide panel can be configured as a single full display like it is now or multi windows. Will most likely stay with single windows easier to see. The HUD will not take Carplay Input so will use both WAZE & BMW maps at night.

A number of German cars being talked about here because there have been pictures of the TLX benchmarking against Audi, BMW & MB. Some people are actually interested in how the target cars perform. If the Type S pushes up into the $50K range it will need similar features & performance.
If it's all just a tease like the original TLX turned out to be not so much as long as they maintain a bang for the buck profile & pricing.
Personally I have always downplayed the advertised BHP numbers while many here really want to see a 400BHP number like the Infiniti Red 400. The Z4 @ 382BHP @ sub 4 seconds shows very specifically why the 400BHP number does not have much meaning. The BMW 340 has also be timed under 4 with the same engine & is a $50K car.

As for German SUV's many of the X series have performance envelopes that are just wet dreams to Acura Type S product planners, plus thay are all built in South Carolina & employee USA workers like Acura does. Some one could very likely shop a SUV against a 4 door sedan, pretty sure thats done everyday, as the SUV's are winning the competition while sedan sales crumble.
My personal choice was let the 440 go & pick up a new SUV & a 2 seater.

I had asked BEAR to share the pics and looking at them beats absolutely no new news about the TLX and all of the speculation about what might happen, at least with his car I can see what IS really happening out there.
Nice ride, congrats!

If you say so. But if said 2 seat sports car rides on the same but shortened platform, with the same engine, transmission, suspension, brakes & tires as the M340 while being just a few hundred pounds lighter its overall performance metrics might be of value to some. It just goes a little deeper into the 3's & is just a bit quicker & faster in the quarter than the 4 door.
