Completely understood and not surprised by the response. I just know that there are a lot of members here on Acurazine that have been told that their batteries tested fine and ultimately found that the battery was in fact the problem. I know you are in a difficult position with the dealer, but you should keep this in mind and/or ask them to replace the battery. As mentioned previously bad batteries have been know to manifest themselves in all sort of odd electrical symptoms.
Maybe you could ask/convince the dealer to swap the battery with another new TLX on the lot.
Keep us posted and best of luck.

I talked to the dealer today. They drove it around and the warnings went off. They say its the APP sensor which they are replacing. I mentioned the low voltage and VSA code from the first time, and also asked about the battery. They again said the battery tested fine and I pointed out that there are cases of batteries that test fine but are not. They knew about that. They seem to be confident replacing the APP Sensor will fix it. By the way, the Indiana Lemon law gives them 4 attempts......

Well at least the dealer was able to recreate the scenario. Maybe it is the APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) sensor and you will be back in the driver's seat with a fully functional new car again soon. I'm happy to be wrong, but I have my doubts and still believe at least part of the problem is the battery.

Please keep us posted.

I have my doubts too. I agree it would not accelerate when the warnings went off because the car was trying to protect itself by shutting off the systems. I had no other symptoms of an APP sensor failure prior to that. I'm going to mention the battery again when I pick it up. Crossing my fingers on this. I've had 8 or more ACURAs since my favorite 1996 Acura Integra Manual Transmission. Don't fail me now!

I've been thinking about creating a laundry list of known issues for the 2G TLX. It's probably better off as a standalone thread. Off the top of my head, I can think of the following:

1) Wireless charging doesn't work on iPhone 12 and above.

2) Radar element in front of car can deactivate some safety features when "slush" or similar precipitation remains.

3) CarPlay usage has been inconsistent (not sure about AA).

4) Some owners are experiencing steering column creaks.

Any others I've missed?

My CarPlay connectivity has been spot on in my A-Spec; the wireless CP in my MDX has been problematic though. I now only go with the wired connection which seems to be fine.

I'll wait until tonight to start the new thread (hopefully with more owner experiences) but looks like we have a pretty decent list to start!

Post in the "Problems and Fixes Category", that's what it is there for. Really should have a thread in there for each specific issue so people can find them easily. That way you can see how many people have the issue and how they resolved it if they did. It's helpful to other owners.

Posting in this thread is fine but when people go to look for info the "Problems and Fixes" is where most will look for info on such things. Also potential buyers browse through them to see what issues people are having.

That creaking steering wheel thread should really be in "Problems and Fixes."

The issue is I don't know if "Problems and Fixes" is the first place people look. Not being able to see which threads are new/updated with a quick glance really hurts the sub-forums.

If you go in that category the threads with the most recent activity bubble up to the top. Very helpful when you have an issue and also the number of posts in the thread can indicate how widespread. Used it many times in the TLX gen 1 forums. If you put all the issues in one thread each individual one gets diluted. Sometimes the mods will move threads there anyway.

I have see the puddle lights issue scattered in a few threads here.

It's not meant to be a comprehensive list of issues/fixes for the TLX. Just a list of known issues for potential buyers to consider since it's the first year of the 2G TLX.

Regarding CarPlay - I continue to not have any new issues at all since I started using this USB cable: https://us.anker.com/products/a8453

I have a heavy duty Anker cable as well and didn't have any issues for the first 8 months. CarPlay has been cutting in and out in the last couple weeks.

I had long drives into NYC today and the CarPlay behaved. It's really flaky the last couple of weeks. Can't put a finger on what causes it to "behave."

I purchased a heavy duty 12” Anker cord. Provided I wait for the infotainment system to power up before connecting my phone CarPlay has been fairly reliable though it does seem to be taking more time to load up. Once loaded it will play continually without dropping out.

There has been an iOS update in the last 2 weeks - that could very possibly have something to do with it.

Got 24.8mpg on the first tank of gas. Not bad considering that I kept shifting between 8, 9, 10th gears to vary the rpms on the highway. Love it so far. Comfort mode is perfect for cruising on the highway. Felt good getting out after the 4 hour drive.

Y spokes are next, once they're off back order.

So far so good! Only complaints are how big the damn key fob is and I miss having a door handle to put stuff in. I'm already used to the touch pad. I actually find it easier to use than reaching up for a touch screen. And no finger smudges!

Once you memorize your icon placements in a week or two you will not even look up at the screen... People that dump on this set up have not used it for more than a few days....

First mod checked off the list, carbon fiber trim. Note to others: don't shut the trunk with the battery disconnected. To get it open again, you have to pop off a cover behind the rear seats and use the key to turn a knob.

Next time hook jumper cables to the jump points under the hood, maybe that will work to open the trunk?

Looks great! The carbon fiber brings out the silver trim of the LED lights, which you wouldn't notice with the standard metal offerings. Looks more sophisticated.

Do it! It wasn't hard to swap the pieces out and put it all back together. No broken clips and was only $500 if you DIY.

Side spoilers are up next.

Has anyone bought a moonroof visor / deflector?

Weathertech has one that looks nice. Appears to be a pretty low profile.

Was it hard to install the CF trims? I have them on order but debating if I want to pay the dealership $350 to install them. I'm just scared to take my interior apart. But if it's not too hard then I will Dynamat the doors since the door panels will be off anyways.

No, not hard at all. Watch the AHC vid on YouTube for reference. Console pieces were very simple, they just pull off, no screws.

3 screws and one torx per door panel and then it's just a bunch of screws on the inside of the panel. Popping the panel off the door wasn't hard, helped being new so no brittle clips to worry about. The hardest part was attaching the door handle when putting the panel back on. Probably took me about 30 minutes total. If you're doing to Dynamat, then definitely do it!

Thanks, man... I appreciate your input. I will install them myself and Dynamat the doors.
