52 here, I remember my first car was a used 70 Ford LTD back in 1978 and it was a rust bucket, and when I think how purely cars were made back then and no safety features. I had a 8 track deck mounted to the dash. My second car was a used 69 Ford Galaxy.

Similar to myself. I always lease my vehicles. I've been on a Acura kick for the past 8 years. With Acura it's easy to trade out early since they hold the residual so well. I've been flipping at 22-28 months on 36 month terms without a penny in loss.

How did the Lexus lease? You of course don't have to disclose your deal as I know financials are private, just curious how they lease compared to Acura.

dwest,
I can beat that. I'm 67 and my first car, a '59 VW Beatle had a reverb unit. My second, a '68 VW Karmann Ghia had an 8 track. And maybe my next car will have a Krell?

This is my first lease since the bad old days of leasing in the early 90's when they ripped us off. I had some decent equity in the TL and they suggested taking that in cash because rolling that into the lease would lower my payments but that is all it would do and not help when I turn in the car at the end of the lease, so I went for that. Residual is 34K

First car was a two year old ‘57 Ford Fairlane 500 Convert with an AM radio, rear seat speaker option & an aftermarket reverb. Top 40 was Alan “Payola” Freed on 1010 wins in NYC. This song is dedicated to Joey & Sally, Bill & Mary & the gang at the Sugar Bowl

Stew does the GS Nav lock you out when the car is in motion and what was your average mpg on the trip?

It does to an extent, can't type out an address, but you can zoom in and out and change nav modes while in motion.

I really can't give an MPG yet, most of my driving has been short trips over the weekend. I'll know more after the week

I was just sitting here thinking, "They don't release spyshots and all people can do is lament about Acura not allowing any spyshots of the 5G and how Acura has to catch up to the competitors. The moment 5G spyshots surface, everybody decides to talk about 8-tracks, cassette decks, and cars from the 50's and 60's".

Lol. You guys are nuts.

Wow. I thought I was the oldest here. Highest respect and honor to you sir.I hope I stay as young as you. Here hoping I get a Krell in my next car. It won't be in the RLX though. I'm not liking that car so much. Just hoping the TLX is a home run.

Thanks dwest. I'm not yet sold on the RLX. It was a bit too soft in the handling for my taste. I'm planning to keep my 2009 TL for another 2 years, and hoping the TLX will offer the Krell package. Or the RLX AWD will have better handling, plus be available at a much lower price than many here are speculating.

When I test drove the RLX, I came away with the same conclusion. The suspension was a little wobbly for my taste. Not ready for a Buick yet. When I got back into my TL after the test drive, it felt like a Indy sports car after the RLX drive. My weekend warrior( miata) can be punishing, but it's fun to drive.

Not sure what price you are expecting for the AWD RLX but the Caddy vs. RLX feature had the FWD as tested RLX at about $62K

Honor to you too sir. I admire that you still enjoy a sporty car. I had a 2006 TSX and in some ways I wish I had of kept it. It was a great car. My Tl is nice, but to be honest, it's way more car than I need.

I was about ready to write off the Acura after the abomination that was the 4th gen TL.

I have been researching the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid though and it has a lot to offer although the price is very high. I could use it in the HOV lane in CA, it has very good acceleration for a hybrid with such good gas mileage and seems to have an up to date infotaintment system although I'll need more info on that.

If the TLX is anything like the more stylish Honda picture back on page 2 or so before this became a discussion about the oldest living person to own an acura, I think it could sell very well. I'm not hauling a yacht and I am not allowed to race on the streets so the sub 8 sec 0-60 should be sufficient for my needs.

Just so there the spy shot pictures aren't lost -

Front grill on the TLX

I can't find squat on the TLX front grill but they are going to have to do something to replace the hideous beak on the current TL.

I'd prefer just a clean sports grill - no logo bar just a logo "floating" on the grill.

Here are a couple of their other designs.

Hopefully, the Hybrid-SH-AWD RLX will get the more sport-tuned suspension, just like the stiffer-sprung AWD TL vs. the softer-sprung FWD TL.

I'm hopeful that they don't hide the tail pipes on the TLX. The side shot spy photo seems to show a hidden tail pipe underneath the bumper.

Some on the RLX forum are speculating the Hybrid AWD RLX will run $70k-$75k.

Keith7120.....They will....Acura is going with a theme throughout their entire lineup of having the dual exhaust tips hidden. Why is beyond me but they are. The simple fact is that the theme started with the ILX, the RDX, the RLX and now the MDX. Why would Acura leave the TLX with the single vehicle showing its exhaust tips would make no sense so they are gone. It doesn't mean that the vehicle will be a disaster but I agree that showing the tips can give the perception of aggressiveness but alas, this isn't meant to be on the TLX.

Thanks. Although, its not a deal breaker for me, I just hate to see them go. On the flip side, its one less thing I have to worry about keeping sparkling clean.

^^ *lol* That is a good way of looking at it I just hope they tuck the exhaust nicely though, on the some of the spy shots floating around, there is one shot where you can clearly see the tail pipe pointing downward, I just hope this is not what its going to look like when its the final product.
