^^ I'll go with that theory *lmao*

Pretty exciting stuff about finally seeing the TLX coming into the camo pics eh?! Are you planning on upgrading or are you one to keep your vehicles for long time?

So many people abandoning Acura...You, Keith, Birdy*Feet.....who's next? Me? Only time will tell when the camouflage gets removed and see how serious Acura is about making exciting cars again and truly want to be a force to reckon with.

Nexson is already over there as well. I will keep my eye on Acura. I do like them and hope they figure out what they want to do and if they really want to play. IMO, they need to bring back the coupe to go along with the sedans.

Well I actually left 3 years ago, but was hoping to come back now, unfortunately the lack of AWD on RLX and no TLX pretty much seals tha deal.

How tall are you? I know a guy who is 6'3" and he's comfy in his 911. NBA players Lebron James at 6'8" and Andrew Bynum at 7'0" seem fine in their 911s.

Had her broken in to, they trashed the car with broken glass and contents of my glove box, broken windshield and passenger window, broken headliner.. they got most of the glass out but still felt violated ina way.. it's hard to explain... was without the car for about a week

then about a month later... a jerk changed lanes and ran into my car, crushing the driver's side fender and bent the hood and door..etc... was without the car 2 weeks..

numerous flats.. then the stick.

I am still waiting on repairs from this one...

I was off of AZine when the other stuff happened....

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Acura and TL fans brace yourself, there is no love at all in this article for the brand. Normally I don't read these rags as I find them biased by personal likes and dislikes. But it came up in a search.

Acura doesn't seem to care that they are becoming (or already are) the red headed step child of the luxary sedan market. I feel better about my decision now

I'm confused by your statement -- the article closes with this -- " The outgoing TL starts in the mid-$30,000 range, and we don’t expect the TLX to deviate far from that mark. In fact, there’s not much wrong with the current TL’s pricing when you consider that the sedan packs a lot of luxury and technology content while splitting the prices of the smaller Audi A4 and BMW 3-series. Based on how finished-looking the test mules in these photos are, the TLX likely will debut soon, probably as an early 2015 model. "

You should definitely check it out. Go for a test drive. For years, I was afraid to test drive one b/c I was scared of it, lol. At the surprise encouragement of the wife, we test drove one. It was awesome in every aspect! Now I just need to figure out a plan to put one in the garage

Yup, that is supposedly the rumored TLX. I personally didn't sense any love or hate for the vehicle in that article. Here's hoping the exterior design will be a knock out and less polarizing than the 4G.

I may do that..eventually. I do like a sedan but... never say never. It's nice to know that I can fit in one and it can be in my sights in the future. Thanks!

I'm a little confused when I read things like this. Someone, I believe in the RLX sub-forum, posted a listing by model of sales in the mid- and entry-luxury level. I seem to recall the TL over the last two years was about the 5th highest selling car.

It's okay to be confused. Acura is what, 5th out of how many in that segment? Overall sales are pitiful compared to the #1 - #3. I am just pointing facts and making my own conclusion.

I hope the TLX is a hit and does very well.

Not related to the thread but the previous chart of sales really emphasizes what a home run Mercedes hit with the C-class. These are more ubiquitous around here (Los Angeles area) than flies on dung. Our friends who have owned 3 or 4 previous Lexus ES just bought a C250 and got about $5K off of the $43K sticker price. Personally I don't think it comes close to comparing with the TL since it clearly feels like the low-end entry level vehicle that it is. However, the grill/facelift that Mercedes did is really making people look at the C.

My uncle (67) had a 2011 911 4S and now has a 2013 4S Cabriolet. He is also 6'3" and is comfortable in the 911's.

I could be wrong but in the case of the NBA players they usually have the seat tracks modified so they are more comfortable. My best friend is 6'4" 240 and has a Viper. He also had the seat track moved back slightly and the seat lowered which he said made a world of difference in regards to the way he fits in it now.

I know the article says that it will be shorter than the 4G but it looks so "4G-ish" under the camo..

So assuming the article is correct, if the TLX is introduced early 2014 how many months after until production?

They probably are shaving some inches off the front or rear ends (or both) but keeping at least the same interior cabin space hence the similar roof line. Just my guess.

I'm also a huge Acura fan and loyalist. While there have been some models I've preferred over others, I don't see myself ever leaving the brand. From the spy shots, it appears that the front end will be beefed up a bit, which I like.

I agree that the shape screams current TL, the narrow green house with wide hips. I like the shape, I don't want them to trim it to Accord size, they can nip tuck a little,, but I have grown to like the 4G TL size. I am not sure, but it looks like a vertical bar in the center of the grille or is that from the camo. If that is part of the grille I don't like it. The current 4G MMC beak is acceptable, stop screwing with it already.

It sounds like the TLX will be smaller than the current TL but hopefully not as small as the Accord but more stylish. As I get older I'm leaning more towards comfort than sport but I don't want something pedestrian-looking. It's hard to tell exactly what is camo and what is grill. My guess from the spy shot would be something similar to the ILX's grill but I guess we'll have to wait until an auto show appearance to know for sure. I'm actually still fond of the beak on the 09-11 but know I'm in the minority. The current beak is certainly acceptable.

With respect to the story in LLN....I agree that the shape looks like the 4G sedan but from what I read in TOV, they will often try and create illusions and add a few things here and there to fool the audience. By seeing their pics, I also hope Acura has something better in store for the rear because in the dead rear view, you see tail pipes that are not well integrated so I hope they tuck that in.....Its almost as bad as seeing a guy in a speedo with the two things sagging too low. Tuck that in Acura.....Tuck that in

On a separate note, but related topic.....Now that we are starting to see some movement in the TLX and pics being released etc, when do we expect the moderators to create a new tab for the 5G TL(X)??
