I bet many of the "haters" wanted to get the TLX after seeing the prototype but were (and still are) frustrated by the production version and its specs.

Face it, you completely assume the identity of your favorite car toy of the moment, and any criticism of that toy is forbidden!
Anyway, which part of mostly every thread in this forum is not ? Of course, only the agreeable posts are original, right .

Moving away from the horse, does anybody know the part# for tlx's brake calipers? I am thinking about putting covers on the calipers with custom Acura logo. Definitely cheaper than going the Brembo/Rotora route, and im not tracking the car so no need for BBK, and still looks very good

Be careful as I've heard sometimes brake caliper covers can rub against the rims and then you'd have wasted your money.

Too early to know if it would do that on the TLX or if certain brands do or don't.

Saw my first TLX on the road today. It was a graphite luster one and that thing is NICE. Spotted the jewel eye lights from far away and at first I thought it was an RLX. Love the way it looks from the front, still not really sold on the back yet though. And this is coming from someone who owned an 09 Sh-AWD Tech and now a ZDX. I'm a fan of the more aggressive back ends. TLX is alot smaller in person too. Seems more like a TSX replacement rather than a TL replacement. This is something I may consider as a second vehicle once my Z is paid off in a few more years.

HAHA! nice try at deflecting! No sir, I am only responding to your continual crap of "it's down market' and 'it's just an expensive Accord" You feel the need to say that over and over and over and over and ... I understand it's your opinion but, if that was all it was, why must you use repeat those things so often?

Damn, here I am on an Acura TLX forum being told I am the bad guy for defending my position. Carry on with your mission and ad nauseam posts.

And is that BS that I have assumed the identity of this car?.. WTH is that BS? I have had enough.. I am out

No need to get completely bent out of shape just because my point has enough validity that you haven't been able to refute it. It takes a certain level of emotional maturity to coexist with those you disagree with, don't you think? Not to mention a certain level of objectivity to debate points you disagree with, even though your argument might be .

Take a deep breath... we are talking about the TLX, we are talking about the TLX. No need to get your self-esteem all wrapped up with the car now. Nobody, even myself, ever said you're a bad guy for your love of the TLX.

Besides, the fact that the TLX is a super-duper version of the Accord is a good thing, right? Not even Acura would deny that the TLX had to move a bit downmarket, melding the TL with the TSX, to generate more sales, which I think is a great strategy, right? If they melded the TL with the RLX to move upmarket, don't you think they would have advertised that, too?

Is that orange portion on top of the rear LED tail light the turn signal, or did Acura cheap out and use incandescents?
Sorry, but I haven't seen a single video with the rear brake lights and turn signals activated.

The chrome trim looks great on the black car! Very elegant and classy! I wonder if it translates that well on the lighter colors.

The turn signals are incandescent ... the strip at the top of the tail light is the parking light (led pipe)

I love the chrome trim, it looks great on your car! But I'm getting the SSM, and I don't think it would stand out enough on that color.

Here's a white one from instagram with it... not a good picture so you can barely see it... but it basically kinda blends in. I'm assuming that it'll do the same thing with the slate sliver, not very noticeable.

Cool Okay guys and gals... I did it. (Off Topic)

So I have a TLX Advance, SSM/Ebony pending production/delivery in a few short weeks. I made this decision after much much deliberation. One thing that sealed the deal for me was seeing the beautiful SSM color in person. There are a lot of things that I don't like/hate about the TLX (i.e. the rear end lol).... but there are many more that I love. I also want to stay in the Acura family for now because I have faith in the brand and I believe that things will turn around. Trust me, I was getting ready to jump ship.... but I came to my senses.

I made the deal this weekend to be eligible for the Advantage program. I also received a really good trade in, plus I was able to get the Graduate Program incentive of $500 (I got my MBA earlier this year)... Sooo, I couldn't really refuse this deal. Additionally two out of three of the dealerships were immediately willing to work with me with no question before even seeing my TL... the final dealership secured a dealer trade for me I am hoping that the car comes in earlier than expected... otherwise I won't be able to receive it until October (I'll be in California for a work conference towards the end of the month).

So anyway, I guess I'm excited now... not going to lie that I worried a bit about pulling the trigger too quickly and not waiting for the Audi A5 redesign. lol.... but I think this will be more worth it. If not, I can always trade it back in right? lol... now if Acura releases a surprise coupe.... bye bye TLX

Sorry, but I haven't seen a single video with the rear brake lights and turn signals activated.
Surprise, those amber colored strips are not actually amber. They are RED and are the actual running lights. This photo was taken with my cell phone, but when I take pix with my $2K Canon DSLR, they still show up amber.

Haven't figured out this illusion yet. But if you go back and look at all the initial prototypes, the lenses in official Acura photos also showed up amber.

The actual turn signal light is the outer most square under this horizontal strip and is red.

All exterior lights are LED.

Just for a visual.... sorry for the choppiness but it's 5am. lol

The parking lights and brake lights are LED, the turn signals front and rear are not, they are incandescent. Fortunately though the side mirror turn signals, puddle lights and fog lights are LED along with the headlights (not to mention the rear license plate lights are LED)... so, I must give Acura credit for all of that and let the rear turn signals slide!
