If you look very closely at the front shots you'll notice all the padding. On the hood there are 2 bugles that go up the hood. The fenders too, where the headlights and camo meet on the fender (big gap). I think this 4gen is going to be more angular with edges. The headlights look that way.

Somebody mentioned "Transformer" like looks.

I'm sure the bone stock TL will look like crap, but I also would bet that the A-spec version will be nice and aggressive for those who want it, and they will have to pay out the nose.

I disagree, I think the 09 TSX will not sell as well as the first gen did.

Did you see the general consensus for the 09 TSX A-Spec add on? Its expensive, ugly, and its full add on bumper. Even the enthusiasts hate it.

Sorry to say looks like the 09 TL is going to look unattractive as well just like the 09 RL and the 09 TSX.

Its really interesting seeing a company go down the drain, the Acura Public Relations and Marketing have they ground to cover since all those NEGATIVE and BAD reviews are starting to pour in from the Media, Newspapers, and Car magazines.

If Acura doesn't offer a manual with the weak 300hp engine and SH AWD they are FK'N retarded. But with the new TSX, Honda Pilot, I think they are really screwing up BIG TIME.

Covered up, it does indeed look like a big nissan. What's with the "bloated" look on all new cars coming out?

I was thinking the same thing, but I have this theory, We are getting older, and like modern music and clothing trends, the new style usually frowned upon by the older generations. But it is accepted by the mainstream youth. Maybe we are outgrowing the hottest trends? Yet I alwasy thiunk to myself, the last Gen TL (3rd gen) was a knockout, everybody loved it and it sorta put Acura back on the map.

It kinda looks bulky and boxy from the spy shots. Not a fan. I like the current 07-08 TL-S

welll one thing i think we can take from the pictures is that the trim around the doors is chrome, which i am not a fan of, i always liked the fact that my tl never had that silver garbage like the accords had and audis.

I understand that the rear end will look similar to the Cadillac CTS meaning boxy and angular. The pictures from the Cel Cam on I-5 seem to bear that out as well.

I think Acura is just rethinking it's customer base. The TL is a fairly big car for it's class (midsize sport/luxury) and it interested maybe a lot of older buyers, who were then turned off by an aggressive look, and a (relatively) stiff ride.

Maybe Acura thinks that a more relaxed TL would appeal to a higher and broader age range, and that means more buyers. Acura is going in the same direction as Jaguar, or Saab, for instance. In the '90s, they used to be premium automakers, known for luxury, and sometimes sport. Then they sort of fell in with the step of their owning companies' cars, dulling them. I think this is what is happening to Acura. Their cars are not getting dull, just...recalibrated.

Given a known size for the rims in the profile spy shot, can we tell how much longer the new TL is than the 3G?

from the cel cam photos, seems like the rear may be similar to the new RL.

That looks like a cross of between a G35 sedan between the doors, a Lexus GS at the rear quarter, and an 08 Acoord coupe at the rear. The front looks like a bigger version of the new TSX. Not sure if I'm that impressed.

meh, it's not ugly, but's it doesn't look like the radical hotness that a lot of the rumors out of New Orleans promised either.

General shape looks a lot like the G35 from the B-Pillar back.

I don't like the chrome trim.

Wheels/Tires look beefier (I assume they are 18's ??). Brakes look bigger too.

I don't think I will purchase another Acura after my TL. What are they thinking when they design cars like that?

I think these pics ressemble the front wheel drive TL with 286 BHP (based on side mirrors and extra lights in the back plus the single tips)

Maybe the old spy shots at the nurburgring resemble the 300 BHP all wheel drive (based on quad tips, and the side mirrors..are just black (lightweight???))

anywho these pics both are alike in a certain way, but we will soon find out..I actually like some of these

Enlarged pictures, quoted from thread in off topic section.

The back reminds me of current gen maxima and GS

I really like the way the C pillar blends into the rear so far back.

Too bad no RWD and or V8.. Maybe the 5th gen will have those.

TL has lost its EDGE, literally. I like the current gen TL with its "just enough edginess" compared to some overdone hideous creations like the CTS. The 4G looks like a blob from the back like the current gen maxima and GS.

-A reduction in wheel gap.
-19x9.5 Volk TE-37s
-Pearl White
-Rear apron
-Aftermarket front bumper
-Chrome window trim delete

...should look pretty good after those modifications.

I'm loving the trunk design.

One set is for DRLs and the other set is of foglights same way as they are in current gen MDX.

Good thing. Because we have obviously just gotten our first glimpse of a new significant styling que for Acura's going forward. As we know, the TSX is just a Euro Honda Accord and the new 09 RL is still only the Honda Legend rebadged. Not much to gleam from those. However, this TL offers signficant clues into the future RL (which will probably coincide with the launching of the Acura brand in Europe and end of the Legend) and the next NSX. Get used to that rear end and that front grll. Like it or not, here it comes.

Cool Ohhhhh

But on the MDX they are side-by-side instead of one on top of each other ... I hope that it looks OK once revealed ....

Man, I hope that's not the new TL at leftlanenews.com. Way too tall. If it is, I'll wait for a coupe or go ahead and push the button on a BMW coupe. Too bad. I have loved my '04 TL since day one. 4 1/2 years old with 16K miles. Yes 16k miles.

I hate to say it, Mike, but I have to agree with you. We'll see whether this design is any more integrated than the TSX or the MMC RL when the full reveal comes.

All I can say is....I'm loving my 2G RL more and more after seeing these pix.
