I don't really see any significant similarities between the spy shots and the Camry.

I like the side shots so far, with the exception of the front fenders. And that is way too small of a trunk opening for a car of this size.

It looks like Acura's forcing the TL to fall in step with their image and lineup, rather than with the competition.

I'm really not liking the rear end, at all (referencing this picture: http://sohc.vtec.net/news_files/770023/09tl_jf-02.jpg). The way it slopes down... eh. I guess I'll really have to wait and see the final product, but really, the only thing that's "hidden" right now is the front end. And, seeing as how Acura is going to that awful large single bar up top design, I don't think I'll be too happy with it once it's revealed.

What is going on with that rear bumper on either side of the exhausts? Looks like an M5 bumper that someone stopped making halfway through. And that trunk opening looks like an escape hatch... will make it tough to put things in the trunk. And the rear overhang below it that's about twice as deep as on the Civic? There are too many lines going every which way on this car... nothing is unified no central styling cues either. The side of the car is okay and except for that hideous grill it's not too bad but that is just the nastiest butt I've ever seen on a car... make the CL's ass look like a model's. Looks like the worst parts of the Civic and a Lexus IS we used to create that trunk.

It's a shame because this is Acura's bread-and-butter car but I wouldn't be caught driving such a strange vehicle.

The sales numbers will prove who is right.

I was looking at the camera phone pictures as well... unmasked.

Oh please! That statement is quite silly. There's the Aztec, Durango, Focus, Escort, etc etc etc. Making that statement at this time without even seeing the car without the camo is just asinine.

As for the rest of the masking on the front... beauty might be skin deep but ugly goes clear to the bone.

Thanks for the Vtec link....hadn't seen that. However (per above), there is absolutely still masking on the rear (lights at a minimum...but potentially other places in the same color as the car). Did I miss true 'unmasked' pictures?

After looking at the rear pics a few more times I'm less optimistic that the rear is going to look 'good' to my eyes... Oh well, time will tell I guess.

Those tips could have been done better, they should have used the type-S tips, it would have looked much better.

I'm kind of seeing Lexus RX in the white/silver LED pinpoint lights thing.

The exhaust tips can easily be changed... the bumper cut-out is maybe less easy to do and I think that looks pretty bad. Looks like a malformed M5.

The basic shape of the trunk is going to make loading that car very difficult. Masking isn't going to conceal the basic shape of the rear end. Like I said, too many design themes going on there.

I am starting to wonder about that rear quarter window.

It's been covered all through the "reveal". Still is.

I am starting wonder if the apparent "strut" for a rear quater window is real. Maybe there is no quarter window, just one big rear window. Or maybe its a body colored panel.

Pure speculation on my part. I just find it odd that with so much in the open, *that* peice they choose to keep camo'd.

Those 2 ovals are probably reflectors but unlike the ones on 3G TL/2GTSX these look pretty dated in shape...

this thing is gonna sell like hotcakes...its sumwhat ugly but by next year it will grow on me...the exhaust system looks pretty damn serious and the trunk looks huge. Dont see any problems with loading anything. Shouldnt be loading anything that big in an Acura Sedan anyways

Is it me or do those headlights look like they're painted white? The 3G TL had the clear/orange pastic housing for the head lights. It looks like they've painted them to make each light look like it's individually encased. It also looks like there's a much bigger front grille and more turn signals. Looks like they've removed the side markers. My guess that they've taped up the rear window is due to the fact that there won't be a split in the window anymore. Just 1 large window for the rear passengers. Nice.

Good point, although it kind of looks like there is a divider there, but maybe placed there to throw us off. Also, as far as the grill...if you look at where the openings are, it doesn't look like the grill looks like the RL...like its smaller and more integrated, not like a big acura shield...

If you look at this old pic, you can kind of get an idea of what the grill looks like, unless they've changed something.



Also, if you look at the Car and driver tsx chop, there are SOME similarities...like how the back lights look if viewed from like the right front tire view, and how I imagine the grill might look

I agree it looks better without the lip spoiler. But I think that's where the backup camera is going to go. If you look at the lip spoiler carefully, you'll see a black dot in the center..... next to the guys right hand. Looks like a backup camera is integrated into it.

Oh, and the car looks like a G35 in this pic.

I thought that dot may be the keyless entry dot, like on the door handles. Then again, it wouldnt be on the spoiler, because the don't all have spoilers? Interesting... your pic isn't showing btw...

i am honestly trusting honda/acura......

a lot of cars got heat when they first came out: e.g. the 5 series, the 7 series, audi's new front end, etc.

remember that this is ACURA's flag ship car, the one and truly only 3 series contender in the market today......they won't mess up with the design of the car......trust acura, they won't disappoint us at all.

they will build it and we will all come.
