Well people will just take those AWD cars and remove the Front half shaft and convert it to RWD.

If you don't believe that's possible a simple "RWD STi" search on YouTube will show you some footage of RWD subbies.

RWD and AWD have more power loss, correctly stated as drivetrain loss, than a FWD vehicle.

Unfortunately, FWD cars cannot handle more than 290-300hp and still maintain good handling capability. That's why the 3.5L-V6 engine has to be detuned in the FWD TL-S. But on RWD cars, one can dump lots and lots of hp and torque onto the rear wheels and still maintain good handling capability, all because the front wheels are solely used for steering not for propulsion.

I hate to say it, but the Cadillac CTX is looking pretty good. If it wasn't for the damn pop-up navigation screen. That's just gimmicky.

I doubt the TL will ever see more than 300hp, unless they manage to get more fuel efficiency.

But Honda has never offered a RWD car so it doesn't look like you were EVER a Honda supporter/owner anyway. Your statement is like subtracting ZERO from Zero, the result (and thereby you) is in-significant.

I stand corrected. He was only "a bit" significant but on the otherhand, I have heard that they are doing a new version of these cars that may well put it back into the elite category of true performance cars.

I am sure this is not the final because it's very ugly...I think Acura is putting this out just to get an idea of what people think and suggest...

Once the new 2010 RL's RWD platform starts to trickle down to the TL model, probably after 2 more TL model cycles, the TL can then go over 300hp with ease without burdened by the heavy and inefficient AWD system.

A lot of wishful thinking here... As late as this is the Camoed TL is the final shebang.... Any suggestion coming now would not be feasible for acura to put in untill the next MY i.e 2010.

I personally think that the 09 TL will be visually pleasing and would will well placed in the market.

exactly

there was a big article about this in one of the recent C&D or R&T, and i think one of the pics was one of the older camo TL pics that is floating around somewhere. so yeah, acura doesnt want us to know what it looks like yet.

So what? It feels good to bash this car because we own 3G's and most of us won't be able to justify trading up! So let us bash this highly masked car as though it's the finished product. It makes us feel good, if only for a few months.

Where is that from? THIS design for the TL would be perfect. They should just rape this design and be done with it. I'd trade up to.

If that's a chop.. that's a very good chop, because it follows the lines of the spy shots with all that camo

If I'm not mistakened, Honda had an AWD or RWD Civic back in the 80s... I forget which it was, though. I'm sure it was one of those once in a lifetime models that are never heard of a year later type of car.

it doesnt, but common sense would say if they decide to upgrade to a 3.7 then it would be the same as the MDX which pushes 300 hp.

It was the 3rd generation Civic wagon that has the Real-Time four-wheel drive system and a lame 91 hp 1.5L-I4 12-valve fuel-injected engine. The term "AWD" had not been invented at that time.

Ah... I see. I knew it was a Civic Wagon, just wasn't sure about the details and the what-nots.
