2009 TL Pictures? ***NEW PICS ON PAGE 44***

Answer : You'd get that back end.
Question : What if a Camry had sex with a Cadillac CTS?
I remember when I first saw the '04 TL in a pic someone posted on here. I had researched and made up my mind that my next car would be a G35. I had thought about buying a G35 for about a year. In less than 1 minute those pics of that '04 TL parked on a city street changed my mind. It was damn near instantaneous. No RWD? Didn't care. It was a beautiful car. I have to say from these recent spyshots of the '09 TL, I am not equally impressed. I'll wait though, to see what it looks like sans the costume. They took a car that could've been a killer in the RL and turned it into some mutated luxury Hyundai/Honda experiment. I pray they don't do that with one of the best designs to come from a Japanese carmaker in a while - the 3rd Gen TL.
I patiently wait as I see my odometer about to hit 100,000 miles on my '04 TL...

It was the same with me. I saw those 3G TL pix on the old acura-tsx.com before it became part of AZ. I drooled immediately. I had no thought of RWD or FWD. I simply KNEW that I had to have one even though my 2G TL was only 1 1/2 years old.
I put a deposit down on my 3GTL and was the very first person in my part of the country to drive one off the lot.
Again, it's hard to get a feel for the whole package from these lightly camo'd cars, but the overall theme seems to be there, and I'm just not drooling as much as I was. We'll see in August. Why August? Because that's what happened the last time. We had a much earlier reveal (NYC auto show in April), then production models were pictured in Seattle in August.
We'll see....
EDIT: A trip down memory lane......TOV's pics of the undisguised 3G TL, 7/25/03 Still looks good.

There is a photo of what appears to be the new TL in the June issue of Car & Driver. I haven't seen this photo anywhere else - it's not camouflaged at all. Has anyone else seen this? It looks a lot like the photos posted here prior.

i dunno, i actually don't think it looks too bad. there's definitely some masking going on in the rear but i think the overall outline is somewhat aggressive.. def need to see it naked though. it's weird, a lot of us bash the new tsx now, but i find that a lot of the non-acura owners are digging it (at my work place at least)

On the bright side, if the 09 TL looks like crap and still maintains FWD until they come out with the AWD version, the resale value of the 3rd gens might not decrease as much, especially once they stop producing them :P
And it looks like it has that new lovely (sarcasm) Acura grille...
And the rear end looks like it consumed McDonalds for a few years... obese and bloated lol.
Oh well.

What a shame. Maybe the true reveal will tighten it up a bit. What happened to the distinctive crease running from the front to the rear that gave it that aggressive stance? Oh yeah, now I remember. The new Accord is now sporting it.
Overall I think the whole thing looks kind of clunky. And those front fenders with the extra little bulge are right off the new TSX. I was hoping for something aggressive looking. What we seem to be getting is something aimed for the retirement generation.
So, when's the 5th gen coming out?

Yanks in '08!
At quick glance of the side profile, it looks like a BMW 7 series. I've taken a closer look at these pics and I noticed the entire side and rear of the car is masked. You can see some air bubbles on the front quarter panel, driver side door right under the side mirrors and rear bumper. Also if you look closely, the trademark TL line is still there but is hidden from the mask. Come to think of it, the only areas that are not masked are the cutout of the front/rear windows, tail lights, hood and roof.
Also, I think the trunk is unfinished because I doubt that will be the permanent location of the license plate (bottom of rear bumper) for a luxury car. I actually think it will look nice.

Effin' sweet!
Now I don't have to kick myself in butt for buying an 08!! Woo-hoo! IT's a good thing that I got one of the last editions of the best looking TL-S' on the planet!
No amount of tech wizardry or horsepower inside that 09 will get me to regret buying an 08.

There is certainly a lot of masking remaining there. I don't understand what is going on with the trim around the rear side windows. It looks like the design, molding, whatever transitions right into the C pillar.

depending on the masked area it can look good or bad.... it still has a lot of potential
the bumper design is similiar to the current 3g as well as the handles, hood, and doors...
the tail lights wrap to the rear quarter panel like the 8th gen accord, the headlights still resemble the same shape/style of the 3g tl and 1g tsx
grill obviously, is their new "trademark" but again its an easy fix for those who don't like it... more to mod... maybe a good thing

The tail lights are my biggest concern looks wise. I hope there is still alot of masking present, because the split lights look awkward and the angle to the trunk lid breaks up the lines of the rear end. It that is all tape - then there is a pretty good chance that it will be a pretty hot looking car.
Yes, it borrows from the Infiniti G35, Lexus GS and Cadilac CTS - but I actually like those cars. If they did a decent job upgrading the electronics/interior this might be my next car.
Things I want - Keyless start (handles have sensor!), adaptive cruise control, vented seats, and better Ipod integration (like TSX). If they hit those and the car looks good without tape, my daughter gets an 04TL....

Undisguised front end on Autospies ??
Im not sure how to post the link - but on Autospies, they have a pic of the front-end of a red Acura - possibly the new TL (or is it the RL)?

There is a body line there down the side. There is just A LOT of vinyl tape covering a lot of the styling up. If you look very closely you can see it. This thing may end up not being that bad once they take all the band aids off it, I tend to really like the roof line and the side profile
Those wheels won't be on the production model as well. Whatever wheels they do put on will help the rest of the car without a doubt.

Eagle-eyed Ohioan Sean Wolfe spotted this TL prototype undergoing testing over the weekend. Here you can clearly see that the '09 TL will have a keyless entry/ignition system. We have also heard that it will also have pushbutton start.

The rear shot from the new photos clearly shows vinyl tape still masking a distinctive design element. The red reflectors on the lower part of the bumper certainly look like part of that disguise.
I can't really make out any kind of body line along the side though like the 3rd gen has. I hope there is something there.

There is still a ton of tape covering body lines and changing shape.

Let me just say...that is one BIG-ASS CAR.
anyone noticed the exhaust? kinda hard to miss.
Otherwise, from what I can see, headlights and taillights might be a bit different from the TSX, wheels look tiny compared to tires and rest of car.
Wipers don't look like they can clear the entire windshield. Doesn't look like it's sporty at ALL.
Acura f'ked up...BIG TIME.

honestly, i think some here are just hating for the sake of hating.
it doesn't look bad at all. nothing ground breaking, but certainly not ugly.
c-pillar is straight from the altima though.

IMO Honda sucks at making good exhaust tips. They always overdo it. the 3g, then the new Accord, now this.
