I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you may like the styling of the MDX and Accord, but I don't, and I'm not the only one either.

You know, the new TSX looks like crap, but I bet it will sell very well to the standard crowd like the real adults and such, lol. And Acura has the A-Spec bumpers and stuff for the real enthusiasts like the board members on here. So they cover alot of ground. I'm sure the bone stock TL will look like crap, but I also would bet that the A-spec version will be nice and aggressive for those who want it, and they will have to pay out the nose.

Busting some beats...
Point to the wise....stay with the third gen...if the new TL it looks anything like the TSX or the new Accord sedan, it will suck...but apparantly its supposed to be "completely different to any style Acura has ever done and will set the bar for all Acura's to come"....I just hope whats up and coming doesnt look like droo droo. But judging from the TSX.....*shame*.....

^ I agree...I was looking forward to buying the 4G TL-S but based on what the 4G is gonna look like, I may have to go else where. Maybe Infiniti or Audi, we'll see when I'm ready to buy.

I bought my car at Rallye Acura and the sales guy confirmed that there is going to be a 3.7 liter with AWD, but NOT a TypeS. It is also going to cost over 40k.

From looking at the spyshots, I don't like the exhaust tips already. I really think Acura is going to FVCK this up big time. Don't matter to me, since my 08 TLS to me looks sweet as hell.

I'm actually really starting to dig the new styling of the TSX. The fact that a lot of people don't, makes it even more so appealing. The new style Acura is going for, is wicked. The TSX commercial is also done very well.

The TSX is not appealing to most current Acura buyers to be honest. From all the people I know that have Acura's even other brands, the look of the current TL and TSX is more appealing than the new style of the TSX. But you never know, it might grow on people like the new STI is doing.

i think it's funny that ALL over the internet, nothing is said about a 3.7 liter OR a type s version. If acura/honda sticks to what it always has done you'll see a base model then a type s model...
just like back then with the integras...
integra....gs-r integra....type-r integra, discontinued....
civic.....civic si...
2nd gen TL....then 2nd gen TL type s....
Type-S versions are always the LAST to come out....

Same for the 3g. Look what happened.
I don't know if they'll go for a 4g type S because they already have a sport model coming out. We'll just wait and see.

6G TLX-S
Looking at Acura's trend, the Type-S models always come out in the MMC (mid model cycle) update, i.e., 2 to 2.5 years after the initial release of 5-year-cycle new model generation; never at the beginning of a new model generation. According to Acura, the addition of a Type-S trim at that period of a model cycle is to put back some momentum in the sale figure as the model gets old and the competitors catch up with it.

Guys, the OP wanted to keep this thread strictly to photos of the 09 TL (or spyshots). If you want to discuss the 4G TL, please do so in the other thread or start your own topic/thread.
Fsttyms1 has kindly requested you all to keep this on topic. As you can see, I deleted a bunch of posts after his request. Let's try and focus

Personally I don't understand the concept of buying an ugly car. The cheese grater grille is a deal breaker for me. I have to like how it looks before I buy it...it's fundamental.

The Acura brand is not marketed outside the US , Canada and recently China. In other markets like the UK ,they call it the Honda Legend.

Overall the general shape looks pretty good to me.
I do wonder about the "quad"-exhaust. In one pic it looks like one side has a round inlet pipe. So I wonder if the other side is for looks only (i.e. non-functional).

I have a feeling everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised, why would they go way radical on their bread and butter??
Some people are pointing out that they don't like the exhaust tips, whoopee, some people its the grill, again.......whooopee. These are purely cosmetic things that can be changed, either by body matching the grill or replacing it, of course thats depending on how its put on. Exhaust tips, come on, thats real easy for them to change, this pic I just a test mule, thats the whole point, they don't want to give away to much.
In the end this is just going to be another great vehicle put out by Acura, and people are going to buy and mod it to their liking just like we have always done, especially if it comes in at ~300hp and SH-AWD

I agree, that can easily be replaced, but it would be much better if Acura just MADE with a nice grille and exhaust tips. But then again, I'm not a fan of the 3g's tips but it blends with the styling of the whole car, which is amazing, so it works out.
Agreed on the last part, though.
Judging from the spy pics, i see...
rear-view sensors
wide-ass tires (for stock)
boatloads of interior space
bulge on the trunk? probably test equipment.
