HEY GUYS If you pick up the latest issue of Car and Driver (June) , The title is 24 CARS worth waiting for! theres actually a picture of the new ACURA TL, and hate to be the bearing of bad news but i think its ugly as hell. it has the same front grill as the new tsx which makes it sooo hideous. its still FWD and its built off the 08 accord architecture. the engine specs steped it up tho, a 3.7 liter wit 300 hp. it says here
What might go wrong: Buyers may be turned off by the new styling - particularly the grille - or the idea of 300 HP going through the front wheels.
starting cost is 35 g.

Someone try to crop that second TL and see if we can get a better view of it's ass.
Looking at it directly reminds me of looking at the rear of a new lancer for some reason.

the rear lights you photochopped arent really that accurate. Only because it's still masked pretty heavily.
i'm willing to bet they didnt deviate too far from the 3G look because it's a "WIN" look.
and regarding that cooncept car look, i think there's hope yet. (at least i hope there is, else it's 4k for me with a s/c lol)

That rendering has been floating around for a month or so. Some say it's the next RL, but that's probably BS. It's no doubt nothing other than a concept idea (that's if it even originated from Honda)

I'm driving through C-bus, OH this weekend on my way to Colorado. I'll be sure to keep a lookout for camo'd TLs and will have my good camera with me.

Looking grim. Hopefully they do some innovating inside. Hopefully a new hard drive based navi and not just reuse the existing stuff and add a perk like XM weather. Even more so, hopefully they have a new transmission.....DSG would be a great way to offset the power loss from the AWD, instead of just reusing the existing tranny from the RL/TL/MDX, like they're doing with the engines.
What's scary is there seems to be nothing next gen about the vehicle spec wise other then new body paneling and ------->even that isn't looking too hot. Guess Honda is thinking, since it's new.....err different.....people will buy.

im good with my s.c gen 3. thanks a lot honda engineers for copying every other import sports sedan in the markets lines and curves. VERY dissapointed.
and is this going to be the new trend with new honda/acuras?
if you look at the assend and rear qtr panels of the 08 accord, does it not look 7 series-ish?
same with its dash board.
jesus. be original honda, thats what made you famous

I want a 09 TL in OCT. have an 04 tl with 90,000 just minor wear and tear problems. no matter what the car looks like I'm gona enjoy it. I thought the accord was ugly but a month or 2 I started liking it but not the previous accord that I never like. so deep down you guys are gona want one. you wouldn't buy a nissan infiniti and bmw. because you had hondas since you got your first car. also I like acura Z pictures thats hot. also if the car looks like a transformer that was a pretty good movie

I just noticed how almost every aspect of the spy photos are being compared to other completely different cars. It looks like Honda seems to be copying a bunch of design aspects from completely different car companies, but it's not working.
the TSX s original in its own way, however, so there is hope.

Yeah I would agree with what you've posted, I think TSX owners should be happy with the new generation, its not bad at all, although it doesn't get incredible gas mileage for a fairly underpowered vehicle.

a little off topic, kind of. but it really wouldnt hurt honda to make a rwd car. i mean right now we've got nothing on the line up. G35/37, 3 series, almost the whole damn Lexus lineup is rwd. i'm just gonna keep praying that the techs/financial people over at honda notices and makes a slight change with the next gen Acuras

Hey everyone, I have read pretty much every posts in this thread and I agree with you guys, the new TL will not be for me. I have seen "non camouflage" 09 TL and it will not be as pretty as the 08 TL thats for sure. I was holding off buying an 09 TSX until I saw the TL but after seeing what the TL will look like, the TSX is the way to go for me. I am very disapointed in the latest designs of Acura and although I haven't purchased my 09 TSX yet, I may decide to hold off as I am very concerned about the Acura brand... And for the record, in my opinion, the front of the TL is not extremely flattering either, the headlights seem too small for the rest of the front fascia
