Sweet, 2009 TL AWD
http://www.leftlanenews.com/details-...-acura-tl.html
And now, just a few weeks after Honda/Acura's dealer meeting in New Orleans, information has been leaked about the upcoming 2009 Acura TL.
According to a source who attended the meeting, the 2009 Acura TL lineup will consist of two models: a base front-wheel drive car and an up-level all-wheel drive model. The front-driver will be powered by a 280 horsepower 3.5L V6 whereas the AWD model will receive its motivation from a 3.7L V6 producing 300 horsepower.
Despite boasting 300 horsepower and all-wheel drive, the range-topping model will not sport the Type-S nameplate. In fact, the source says that Acura will not offer a Type-S model, at least not in 2009 guise. It remains unclear if the performance model will eventually join the lineup.
Acura has promised us a new TL by the end of the year so a Los Angeles Auto Show reveal seems likely.

In Europe the 80% of Audi, BMW and Merc C and E classes are sold with the Diesel 320d, 220d compressor, 2.0TDI engine or, at least, the 3 liters engines are sold in small amount...

It is basically a "fully loaded" TL with a 3.7L engine in it. Furthermore, usually AWD system should only cost extra $2000 (Max), because even Audi did not charge over $2000 for their quattro. Therefore, I would predict the all NEW 3.7L TL with AWD would cost around the edge on $40000 maybe little more or maybe little less. (Remember the ALL NEW TSX price tag only increase little bit)
And the Sh-AWD costs more than 2000$, more likely 3500-4000$.
The new TL will get many new features and technologies, it's the most important model for Acura... Thinking that the first spy shots of the 4gn TL we got at the end of July 2007, and the car looked almost READY, means that Acura is working like crazy on our next baby...

anything less than 300 hp/tq, V6 (possible turbo?), and SH-AWD would be a death wish in this segment.
i see it two ways, the 4G TL will either be a HUGE hit with fans and buying public alike or a HUGE disappointment. with a model this important, there is no middle ground.
i would love NOTHING MORE than for Acura to give the BMW's, Infiniti's, Mercedes', Cadillac's, and Lexus' buyers in this category a reason to regret their purchase. Honda is too good of a company to continue to let Acura be the underdog.

I''ve seen the new TSX in person, and to me, it looks like shitty, but once you add the A-spec kit with parking sensors, it looks pretty damn good, the kit is a one piece now, unlike my TL which is just a cover, I also got to drive the car against a few others, like the A4, 328, and is250, against the A4 and 328, hand's down the TSX is better, maybe not against the BMW's V6 but atleast in cornering, and well... personally... i hate the is250 with a passion, it's small, and cramped, and it makes me feel like i'm driving an enclosed motorcycle, but against the TSX in performance, the 250 actually won, i mean on acceleration and on cornering, just not on the space and comfort.
The new RL feels nice, and love the fact they paid more attention to detail, but goddamnit, THE FUCKEN CAR IS UGLY!!! lucky that this RL is only going to last a few more years, and i hope that the next one will really come out with a V10 and better styling!
I also had a chance to talk to the trainers about the grill, they said it's now acura's Hallmark image, so we can all forget about it going away in the future, but if it's anything like the TSX then once you see it in person, you might like it, it's just for now, acura takes shitty pics!

If the Type-S comes out a couple years later (2010/11) it will have to be a chart-stopper! I mean, it couldn't just match the hp of the base, so it HAS to be up there at the

I think Acura is going to FK it up. With the MDX and turbo they know how to do it.
IF THEY OFFERED a 2009 TL-S with SH-AWD, a turbo 3.5 or 3.7 liter with 350hp and 300#tq with a 6 speed manual, and not FK-UP the body, IT WOULD SELL LIKE HOT CAKES, and I would be all over it.
HELLO ACURA CAN YOU HEAR ME ?????

I hope they don't FK it up, but I think they will. IF SO its BMW TT Time.

I read somewhere that it will be at a car show somewhere in the USA in the early summer.
If they ONLY put the 3.7 liter RL engine in it, ACURA IS RETARDED.
330 HP MINIMUM, and a manual. Later ACURA.

Went to my dealer on Friday, according to the General Manager who attended the Acura meeting in Louisiana, the 2009 TL is VERY impressive inside and out, the outside style according to him is way better than the current model -he said "gorgeous"-
and has many design cues from the Concept4. The SHAWD version will have 310hp (3.7L). Take it for what it's worth.

Some of you guys need a reality check. 2009 TL-S with AWD and 350HP?! Get real. This is honda/acura we're talking about. Why don't you go buy a muscle car or something if you need that much power. Gasoline is at an all time high and diesel is over $4/gallon. The majority of Americans don't want 350HP AWD.
This is why you see Acura and most of their competitors offer two models; base and sport. And the base model sells a lot more than the sport (i.e. IS250 vs IS350 and 328i vs 335i). Even those two max out at 300HP.
I wouldn't expect too much of a change. Perhaps a 250-260HP base and 300HP sport with AWD. I for one welcome the 300HP AWD model even if it's slightly slower than the current TL-S. It's not like I really push the TL-S on my way to work or to buy groceries.
If you guys want race cars then don't buy Acura. Go get you a plastic Pontiac G8.
