I've searched around on this forum for a possible solution to this issue and it seems to have gone cold.
The other day I was driving home and the rear passenger door ajar light came on, and went off intermittently. By the time I got home it had stayed on. I've done the following troubleshooting;
a) I've ensured the door rubber ring hits the sensor
b) I have depressed the sensor and the light will not come off on vehicle. Replaced sensor and still getting the same issue
c) I've switched the sensors around on the passenger doors (drivers to passengers and vice versa) and nothing seems to be working.
My alarm keeps going off, and I don't understand what could be possible issue. Any insight into this would be great guys. I've parked my TL in the garage unlocked to avoid my alarm going crazy.
Hey Thoiboi. Thanks for the reply. The door as barely any play when i push on it from the outside. Even holding the sensor in as had as I can, doesn't make the car recognize it. The striker to be clear is that circular rubber donut on the door that hits the sensor when the door is closed?
is the door ajar happening on the same door? You said you replaced the sensor, did you use an OEM sensor? Did the wires on the connector for the sensor look good?

yes i used an OEM sensor. The sensor wires looked the same as the other side, nothing out of the ordinary.
according to the Service manual, that should have 0v when open and 5v when the door is closed on the switch. That switch connects directly to the driver side fusebox (MICU/Multiplex integrated circuit unit) with a green/yellow wire. The issue is that wire or the issue is the MICU.
I survived this dumb virus...it mangled me. Im 100%
And to my luck the door ajar failure seems to have had some pity on me and went away. When it gets a little warmer here in canada i will check the fuse box below the drivers side steering wheel.
