TL Door Sensor

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue that I have. i own a 2006 TL and whenever someone is in the passenger seat the open door sensor will go off for a brief second when I turn left. I have checked the door to make sure that it is closed all the way and it seems to be. Anyone else had the same problem? any fixes?

Open the rear passenger doors; you'll see a rubber stopper on the door itself, this comes in contact with the door sensor. Any adjustments can be made by extending the screw in the door by a thread or two to ensure full contact during turns.

I have the same problem with the front passenger door sensor. The light will go off when turning left and sometimes when putting arm on the arm rest too.

Spoke with an Acura Tech about this. According to him, this problem is corrected by making an adjustment to the sensor or door panel. The sensor does not have enough pressure on it, there is slightly too much space between the sensor and the door when it is shut.

I had the same problem with my passenger door. I unscrewed the sensor on the body (i think its on the body, its been a while) that gets pushed in, and folded a piece of paper a few times and stuck behind it, so it pushed it out more and make a better contact with the door then screwed it back down. Fixed in 30 seconds.

Thanks, I actually did this inadvertently. I unscrewed the sensor to see if it was hooked up to a harness to make replacing it easier (it was). Thinking I'd go to the dealership later to buy a new sensor, I put the sensor back in but didn't screw it back in as tight as it was, since I'd be taking it back out in a few hours. I drove around after that and what do you know - no more open door chimes!

I had the same problem on my TL and I was finding the source of the problem which was my door sensors going off showing that the doors are open which it wasnt and it happened when it rained and then it started happening after it stopped raining. I found at that by the fuse and relay there is a fire wall that leads to the outside the car which was by the driver side wheel and I reliazed that there was water coming inside the car so what I did is I removed some of the carpet and socked all the water and patched the hole and the door never showed that it was malfunctioning again.
