TPMS Compatibility?

Looking for an extra set of TPMS sensors for my soon to be summer wheels. I'm not all about paying $100+ for TPMS sensors (never have, and I've owned maybe 18 sets of wheels). I've always just purchased sensors that are on the same frequency spectrum as my stock sensors. For the RL that appears to be 315mHz. Does anyone know if any Honda 315mHz sensor will work, or are they RL-specific?

2005 KB1, BTW. Thanks guys

Not sure about compatibility, but I know the RL learns new sensors automagically. TireRack should be able to tell you what will work and what wont.

Thanks Spy. Follow up- I bought some factory Acura 315mHz sensors (from a 2012 TSX I believe). The car detects the sensors, but constantly reads 58psi, and then throws a sensor fault after some time...I assume because the pressure rises out of measurement range).

Any ideas?

How long have you driven on them and at what speed? Some systems suggest giving the system up to 3 days with some highway driving. Another technique for other cars is to drop the pressure quickly below the trip point with the car running and then reinflating.

Including today I've drive about 150 miles at speeds ranging from 25mph to 75mph. Every time I start the car there is no warning, but all corners read the 58psi max. After a few minutes (never the same amount of time) I get the TPMS error. The car is recognizing the sensors but not able to read pressure from them.

I've read about that dropping pressure trick. Will I have to do that on all 4 corners?

I think so, but could be wrong. You could try a battery disconnect as well.
