04 TL P1078 Code

I have an 04 tl 6 speed, recently the check engine light came onot and I read the codes and it comes up with a p1078 which is the intake runner manifold controller.

I have noticed a large lack of high rpm powers since the cel has been on.

I can't find any info on this, from what I've seen these are on the type s only and I don't even have one?

Does anyone know where to even look?

Thanks

Only have my phone as I'm on vacation, but I believe this is underneath the plastic engine cover, on the left side when facing the car. For me this triggered anytime I went over roughly 4k rpm. I thought it was an issue with the controller, but it turns out that the plug just wasn't plugged back in by the mechanic when he did a valve adjustment. I'll try to post some pictures once I get home Sunday night

I think I have found the problem. I took off the intake manifold control valve which is on the left side of the intake when your standing on front of the car looking at it.

The gear that opens and closes the flap seemed to be stuck, I put it back together and somehow had the power back that I was losing. Now I only have code p1077 instead of p1078 and the cel is still on.

I know there's a problem with it, so I'm going to order one and replace it. It seems like there's not much info on this for some reason, or at least on the 04-08 tl's.

I'll report back when I get a replacement.
