Yes sir, I just might be selling it. Was hoping for local...not sure how much shipping would be!?!? $40? I still have the original box/wrapping etc to ship it in. I also know dates and how many miles I put on it to the exact mile as I write that stuff down in the my maintenance log (shocked?!). Plus, it's just a pipe...a pipe that never saw snow/salt etc. Was thinking somewhere around $375ish without shipping...that saves the person about $75 from buying it new since it's $450 on Richie's site.
I'm appreciating the quieter exhaust...and better gas mileage associated since I don't want to press the go pedal as much. BUT, that said, i change my mind a lot so was going to sleep on it for a week before putting it in the BM.
I'll keep y'allz posted!

J! I need your help! Some other thread is going on in the tires/suspension section and a guy said it's like $400 to counter-weight the car once you install coilovers, what is counter-weighting and do I need to do it?
#2487
No, you don't need to do it...counter weighting the car is the weigh all four corners of the car so that they are balanced. If I'm not mistaken, this is only done for people that are trying to track the car etc...not necessary for practical application of just lowering the car and driving it to piggly wiggly.
Anil, price just went up to $550 for you.
It's a pipe...that I paid $75 more than that for PLUS shipping...maybe 375 is a bit much, but I won't be "giving" this thing away after spending so much on it. Like I said, it never saw snow/salt so there's really no downside to buying it used rather than new.

Jeremy keep it.
Put it away in the attic and forget about it for a while. One day you'll be like "OMGZ MY JPIPE, I HAZ TO PUT IT ON!!!!!!". And then you'll love it once again and you won't be losing any money.

got 3 ideas for you....
i remember you got accidentally got the exhaust wrap for the intake wrap right....so
1> wrap it and sell it for 375+shipping (now thats a fair price)
2> wrap it and keep it....you might be able to reduce some rasp by wrapping it....
3> do as Tyler says....the man speaketh the truth !!!

They're right you know, you swap mods back and forth, the amount you paid for it and how wishy-washy you are, just keep it man. You'll end up missing it one day.

Whether it's suspension or not, you'll spend WAY more than $1200 on your car

No siree...that's why you have us...to keep you from spending dumb money!
Anil, that was what i had in mind..375 plus shipping, something like that...better than 450 plus shipping!
You know something funny, I actually thought, what if I wrapped the stupid friggin part of the Jpipe (where the ATLP has the race pipe) with the exhaust wrap to see if it stopped it from having that annoying rasp at that particular tone. I wonder, but if I do, i need to get 2 new sets of bolts for the primaries...those ones that I have that are seized, i don't want to deal with almost cross threading those again.

And no, I forget that you have your own custom set up and probably don't remember how the Jpipe bolts up...the ALMOST stripped and seized nuts are on my primaries, the jpipe bolts up using your OWN nuts (yeah, those...). My problem is that 2 of the 6 that bolt the jpipe to the primary are seized, which affects nothing since instead of the nuts coming off, the whole bolt that is threaded into the primary comes off WITH the nut.
I'm not even sure I'm selling! But yes, in theory, that is the case! But no way, I bought high and am selling lower! We'll see...I never see these Jpipes go for sale in the BM (the V3 one specifically) and when/if I have, the price drop isn't that much. I may try and make it work, I DEFINITELY miss the growl and added torque. That much I admit.
Thanks Ty...I swear, with friends like these!
Fixed
You don't hate nuthin...and if you did, it would probably NOT be me!

SO then go walk some of dem HO'S you're inevitably hiding in your dormroom then!!!!
Don't worry, your secret is safe with us!
Wow, y'all really got me thinking about this whole "wrapping the Jpipe in exhaust wrap to eliminate the rasp". It seems adding another resonator would likely do the trick, but I would guess it would have to be added to the Jpipe itself where the catalytic normally goes. And cutting up my $400 piece of exhaust seems NUTS.

^^^ thats what i was telling J....350+shipping is what 380-385 and it will be sold quick....
you put it up at 375+shipping which is 395-405, might take a while to sell but it will be tough....
again Jer, not trying to be a pain in ya ass, but just saying.....recently Richie had a thanksgiving sale and the Jpipes were 405 shipped ? I know Steven got it from him around the same time....
and about my stuff, explain my how an amp looses its usefulness over the years and about items being desirable....you remember what you wrote in your PM ? about the amp/CD player being tough to find
i guess you missed out explaining demand and supply in that email
and trust me when i say, i have installed more exhaust setups in the neighborhood than....never mind you know

guys, are you serious?
I started the price bash. But I'm cheap, and know that shipping from florida makes it a bad price. But that is NOT because of the part cost. I was saying I could go locally and get new for around that, or even $25 cheaper.
don't act like you don't know how list pricing works. You have to price higher, to keep the lowball offers at least semi-serious. If you cut $25 of the price, the buyer is happy he got a deal, you are happy you got the price you actually wanted.
Chill, bros, chill

^^^ if you drop the price by $25 a prospective buyer might wait a little longer for another price drop.....the best sale is when its sold within 1-2 days of posting....2 cents....
also i dont think anyone is bashing Jer.....we are just voicing our opinion....
he can start at 410+shipping coz its still 40 bucks less than retail and work his way down to 370+shipping or just mark it at 360+shipping and sell it the same day....his pick !!!

^^^Anil, your punishment is "Thanks" for everyone but you!!!
All good fellas, again, wasn't SURE about selling it. I am all for saving my buddie's some money, trust me. I have had a bunch of opportunities where I get stuff for a killer price and I just sell it to people for the same price. I just don't want to get nailed TOO hard on money loss on it. About the radio/amp...on one hand, yes, you can't just go buy another radio for cheap, but on the other hand, it's a used one and there is no guarantee that it'll not have the same problems your did. Whatever, you get my point.
PS, did some research on the rasp of the V3...I think for the same reason it makes more power is why it adds rasp...one solid pipe with bigger and a long run with no break in it. The ATLP ends up with an extra joint, even with the race pipe attached. I also researched the idea of wrapping with that heatwrap...but it won't make a difference. Since the resonance you're hearing at that frequency is coming from inside.
Hmmm...I wonder about adding the OEM Resonator back in in addition to the Dynomax. Supposedly the amount of length you have of resonator (in one piece or 2) will affect the ability for the exhaust to combat rasp. We'll see. I guess ideally, I'd cut the Jpipe and put the res on there...but then it'll be worth MUCH less...since nobody is going to want to buy a jpipe that got cut up. Maybe right after it...
We'll see. I wish I had a welder and lift...

^^^ again couple things for you:
pop the old resonator off and just add 1 longer resonator....this way you dont have 2 resonators....
and yes rasp comes from inside the pipe and when you wrap it, it traps the heat and hence increase exhaust pulse velocity.....and hence the pulses exit quickly hence smoother flow and hence less rasp.....it wont change the exhaust note but a little tone change can be expected....
and i never had problems with my cd player/amp so you shouldnt either (you being generic for anyone)......
btw you can also sell your old resonator for almost close to your new resonator....so you will end up loosing less monies in the longer run and you will still have the HP.....
LOL and dont worry about "THANKS" dude....just hit it when you mean it and not just coz i posted on here....i dont post to get thanks

It was a joke, buddy...I usually thank people when they post in my thread! or when they post something helpful.
I'll look into it...the whole wrap thing would involve getting the tube to operating temp then (to take heat into account) and to be honest, when it was warm, the rasp was really not bad at all. Figured adding the oem resonator back on would be fine since it would would increase overall length of resonated pipe. We'll see!!!
About the CD player, I agree...I guess the amp was more my concern since mine developed a bad engine whine...after 4 months of chasing the noise, found out it was the amp. Others are having the same issue now. I guess I should have told you to sell the radio for $500 so you'd support asking price on the jpipe!!!!
