Well, if you're just staring at the RPM gauge then no, they will beat you. You would have to move the little knobby thingy down to "D" which stands for Drive.

Need to do more engine work...

I know!
But I can't because I'd have to rev up to 3k+ RPMs on each shift from a stop and that wastes gas? lol

Thanks, my favorite acurazine friends...

and a quick maintenance update:
by by squeaky clutch! went on ebay and looked for molykote, then used the dow corning chart for what each thing was for to pick one that would work. The tube in the pic didn't work out, ended up putting the grease into the syringe from the top, squirted some in the clutch, as well as in the boot of the slave cylinder...and used my finger to put some around the boot that surrounds the master cylinder. When it rained out, it would become super squeaky. Hopefully that'll help.

Also, back off the plug thingy that gives the clutch a little more slack...it being so close to the engagement point was causing this metal on metal squeaking sound.

Gave this badboy a shot, my mityvac 7400. Pretty cool but still 1/2 a quart in there when I got done. Probably since I wasn't totally on a level surface. Will likely just keep this for emergency jobs where time is of the essence or just to bleed brakes/clutch lines. Otherwise, pretty cool how it works. Yes Swoosh, I got you bud...you are right.

And then swapped out plugs...
mishimoto magnetic drain plug.

I also had this annoying "thwak" noise every time I'd hit these speed humps by work or if I'd hit the brakes abruptly...figured for SURE it was going to be the top 2 bolt on the suspension or something loose from my brakes or rear sway bar. Was too tired to tackle it on Friday night so just went around and test drove the car with the clutch fix...then it dawned on me...I had recently thrown one of those X shaped lug nut removers in the trunk...it was bouncing back and forth making the noise. What a relief!

^Curious, what's the difference between the oem plug and the mishimoto plug?

Is that the engine oil or trans oil plug? The head size on the mishimoto looks way bigger than oem. Just wondering what made you switch

that is the engine oil plug.....the OEM plug does not have a magnet to catch on the metal shavings from the engine.....whereas this does....

also yeah the head looks a lot bigger....that almost looks like a 24mm or a 1 inch bit.....

Veggie, you can run any brand magnetic drain plug....i am running some knock off ebay plug which i got for 10 bucks....just make sure the magnet is not toooo strong or not toooo weak.....i am also running a magnetic drain plug on my transmission....

Swoosh is right, as usual. 24MM. I actually need to find a short 6 point 24mm 3/8" socket to be able to torque down properly.

It's 20 bucks or so, shipped...mishimoto makes random stuff for our cars and integra's rsx's etc. I like the logo...i have a shift knob coming too. My tranny plug already had a magnetic plug in it.

THanks man...I used rustoleum automotive gloss black from home depot.

Swoosh, I may have to consider swapping that too then.
I just don't want to lose the GM syncromesh friction modified I have in there.

Well I was going to get a Fumoto valve (had one on my STi and loved it), but this one looks equally appealing.

Thanks Steven, you're the man...as always.
John...dude...NOW you show me this...I'd definitely look into getting one of these for mine AND my fiancee's car. FK...
If they were magnetic, it would be just as good, huh.

Well the Fumoto could benefit from being magnetic, but it sort of defeats the purpose of having it. Once you install it, you will rarely ever remove it. You only open/close the valve. I had it on my STi for almost 2 years without removing it once.

I see your point...
another thing I'll mention for the TL is that that little area where the 17MM bolt goes is pretty tight and may not allow to install this properly. Plus, since ours points back and not down...might not be too good for our application. I just need to get a short 24mm socket for a 3/8" ratchet...I used a deep 24MM 1/2 and couldn't really get it to sit right on the nut. Enough to tighten but not properly.

Maybe for fiancee's accord I'll do this...her filter etc are already so well placed on that little 2.4L engine...

No worries, if you look at the Fumoto site, they sell an extension for the valve because of the way our oil pans are shaped. You pretty much have to buy the extension attachment in order to use the valve.

http://www.quickoildrainvalve.com/Se...ts.asp?Cat=137

Valve (with nipple) + adapter = $33

^^^ hey John....i know there were couple people who were unhappy with that quick drain valve....also if you check the BM, you will see couple people selling it....

i think the quick drain valve is a great great idea for SUV's or cars which are not lowered....in our case where the car is lowered, you have to jack it up and pop the bolt anyway, so, this provides less advantages....

Hmm...what were their qualms with it? You have to jack up any car, lowered or not, to change the oil....the point is that you don't have to unscrew the drain plug and splash oil everywhere. It's literally a mess-less process with the valve and so much quicker. Not sure why I haven't ordered another one yet hehe...

True that...I guess if I hadn't just bought the magnetic one, I'd be more inclined. But thank you for the information, regardless.

Side note, any here know what size the nut that holds the rear hub in is? You know, when you pop the little cap off...it's bigger than a 27MM and I don't want to have to buy 5 different sizes.

PS, used the Optimum No Rinse on both cars yesterday.

Started on Accord since it's Alabaster Silver...and scratches would not be evident. All I can say is this stuff made me a believer. Not even kidding...I kinda wish I lived in an apartment to be FORCED into using this. It literally just felt like you were just gliding along the painted surface with the water taking the dirt and making it run off the car. used it for the wheels too, and they came out perfectly, not even a water spot. I absolutely LOVE the product. Yes, I won it here on AZ...but that's not why I'm talking it up...if I didn't like it, I'd probably not say anything. Give this stuff a whirl...it's the bomb. It took me the same time to clean the car that it normally takes to just dry it. It actually left me enough time/energy that I whipped out the PC7424 and went ahead and threw on a black pad and did another coat of Zaino Z2 on both.

I recently ordered some good quality foaming soap and bought a nozzle for foam for my pressure cleaner, so this likely won't replace my normal car wash techniques, but it will definitely be an additional tool in the arsenal! I'm serious, I kinda wish I was forced to use this product at all times...during water shortages or if I didn't already have so much invested in other products. I'd be using this all day. Left a smooth and pretty finish even PRIOR to doing the Zaino.

Thanks again, Nick!
J

Thanks Anil, honestly, I took these with my phone and emailed them directly to my photobucket account so didn't have a chance to touch them up...a LITTLE overexposed.

Yeah, I say give ONR a shot, man...it's pretty amazing stuff.

When I bought my Type S, I started out with Zaino. I still like the stuff-I've got a soft spot in my heart for their line of products.

Nice pics, J. I also cracked open my bottle of ONR yesterday for the first time, but I just used it to wash the bugs off the front of my car real quick. At first it effs with your head because there are no suds, so it seems like you're just washing the car with water, but yet you end up with a shiny clean surface. I used it on my wheels also, and it did a great job. I can't wait to use it again soon!

Johnny Boy...you got a white car...gtfouuttttaahheeaaahhh with that "I was afraid to use it on my paint"!!!! Try using it on NBP!!! Then we'll do a ball weighing session, my friend. OMG, seriously though, it defies logic...you wipe down...and the dirt runs off the car, you don't even really FEEL like you're touching the car at all. It's incredible.

Steven, want to know something funny...when I first ordered it...I was not going to be using a machine...just by hand. I called and spoke with one of the Zaino brothers and the guy was like, do it by hand...I asked about it hiding swirls vs. removing them with the ZPC. He's like, "dude...if you get to the level where you're worried about swirls, you've got a show car. In the real world, if you have to drive it every day, just worry about it looking great overall so you don't really notice the swirls".

I loved that down to earth talk...made me realize I'd probably be a customer for a long time.

I have ZPC that I no longer use, since I've moved on to machines and Optimum line as well as Megs. I have Z5 I used on my fiancee's car as wax. I have Z2 I still use to seal my paint. I have their leather stuff and tire shine. I ended up buying a 2nd kit so I have products to last me quite a while. Next time though, I'll probably give some other stuff a shot.

J.

LOL trust me, I wasn't afraid. I knew exactly how it was going to perform. It's still awkward to use at first because it's sud-less. I share the same mentality as the Zaino guy you mentioned. If you drive the car every day, you can't sweat every detail or it's going to drive you crazy. There will always be scratches, dents, swirls, etc. It's inevitable. He was absolutely right...it's the overall picture that really matters.

I feel you, bud...well, I WAS afraid. I was just projecting on you! It is absolutely amazing stuff. There's still something pretty awesome about spraying the whole car down with foam and how nice and sudsy and lubed up it is while you're wiping down. But I still love this stuff.

Yeah, that's what I was saying...I email myself the picture (to my upload photobucket email) and it just appears in my album. It's great! Thanks for the suggestion though...what I DID notice in the mobile app is I can't copy the link for some reason, so have to wait till I get to a computer to post it.

Wow, quite the friggin compliment, man! Thank you!
Honestly...I've taken off my spoiler twice...mainly due to forum members pushing for it. BOTH times I didn't make it past a week...wasn't even the holes...I had made little carbon fiber covers for that. I actually MISSED IT. Very rarely do you see a full sized spoiler that matches the body lines of a car so well...
PLUS, i started looking around and EVERYONE and their MOTHER are getting the lip spoiler and the roof spoiler combo. No offense to those that have it, it's nice...but I honestly like the regular spoiler.
