Andy, my guess is dairy queen...no reason behind it...just my guess.
Anil...no sir, I sure didn't...but you're certainly close! Got a killer deal on something I'd been thinking about getting for the longest while (shocked I'm sure).

rockstar, went and got the Cmax's yesterday. i just picked up the front pair, they were $59.99. also got a bosch oil filter, total with tax was $72 even. good fucking deal

but i realized after i left i need a bottle of brake fluid too.

quick question (because let's keep your thread the best one in here), for brembo's, you do the inner bleeder, then the outer?

Make sure you keep a little 2x4 wooden plank under the brake pedal if your having someone push on the pedal....the pedal should be pressed only 60-70% of the way in....pushing it all the way in will damage the master cylinder seal

and you will have them, my friend!

and I don't know your budget, brother...but this was the best investment ever. Santa bought it for me this Christmas

30 minutes I bled the clutch and brake system on the car with not a drop spilled. I tried the type that forces air in master but it was a mess...i sold that one years ago. this one sucks fluid thru...my hydraulic bike brake tune up gave me the idea to give this a whirl...

ALSO,works for tranny flush and oil change.

i need to take a minute to think if i should buy it now, and wait to do the brakes and then also delete my check valve....or just do it the old fashioned way

Dude...if you're a hands on guy and think you'll be one for the majority of your life and have a little space to store it and have a job to pay for it...it's a no brainer. I'm telling you, it was PAINLESS and when I was done I was 100% confident I had zero air in lines. I plan to keep this car a long time so changing out hygroscopic fluids every 2 years is something I plan to do. It'll pay for itself eventually.

Plus, I know some people say NO to not pulling the drain plug on your oil...but there were a lot of people saying they change their oil with this then undo the plug and nothing more comes out. Dude...I'll take not having to get under my car all day long.

Just sayin...

Jer and Sean....i said this before and i will say it again....

That fluid Evacuator might be a savior for the brakes and the clutch but i wudnt use that in the tranny or the engine where you have minute metal shavings....i would honestly do a proper flush of the tranny/engine.....use the Evacuator all you will in the clutch and brakes where there are no metal shavings left in the fluid....just my if you want your engine/tranny to last you a while

DAMN. oil too? Sign me up! I'm gonna wait though since I ordered my sway links today and told myself like a $100 limit of maintenance for the weekend or whatnot lol.

I want to keep this thing till 300k if I can! I think it would be sweet as fuck.

But but...in my manual tranny I've done the normal flush and got all me shavings out!

I'm not saying it'll be my ONLY method of doing maintenance but it's a pretty clutch way of saving some time and effort! Plus, I've never seen ANY shavings of any kind in my oil. Why you tryin to scare us, Anil?!?!?! You jealous of our SUCK!??

^^^

i would love to see all our cars (everyone's) to last as long as we want

am at 160K on original tranny and engine and i have all the possible mods....coz i do my regular maintenance very rigorously....i dont mind sharing my maintenance excel with you folks

but yeah not scaring, informing you folks.....the reason i hate a dealer tranny flush is coz they use a similar m/c.....try replacing your tranny drain plug with one with a better magnet and you will see some metal shavings

ooops did i just make you guys spend a little more money LOL....

Ha ha...give me this weekend fellers...got my wheels at Acura of Pembroke Pines getting mounted. My buddy tech just texted me a picture saying he got done.

I was able to fit all four new tires AND the 4 rims with the old tires on them inside my car with 1 in trunk with a bungee holding the trunk closed.

Even I was amazed...price to mount/balance at acura was comparable to tires plus AND it's people I know know how to work with rims and they just got a new roadforce machine I'm excited!

Trust me, it was tight!
2 on front seat back to back (faces out)
1 ON the passenger seat (took off headrest)
4 new tires in back seat
1 in trunks.

PS...all mounted, stay tuned, this weekend might have some new pics if I can find the time. If not, I'll wait till next weekend for the rotors to come in.

PS: WORTH A SEPARATE POST:

I just got back from Advance Auto Parts and they told me they still offer the pads replacement warranty and they will replace rotors if its within 2 years

so got the Rotors + Pads for my girls Lexus....
Front Pads
Rear Pads
Front Rotors (both)
Rear Rotors (both)
was $157.67 after discount (BIG50) coupon code....after 8.65% tax it came to $171.30

am expecting a 10% cashback as I used Discover card....

So another $15.7 back

$150-ish for a full brake job....buhahahha cant beat that

man...ain't no motherfukn cardboard in ma shit!
lol...no, I lined them up back to back...for some reason the inside rim already had a billion rock chips so I really wasn't worried. My buddy at the dealership was slow today so he cleaned my rims REALLY well inside and out. Gave him a little $10 tip for his effort. I appreciate it!

J.

Dude...I once brought home 10- 8 foot 2 by 4's, 1 full sized piece of plywood...my entire system with 2 12's and a 12 foot little giant ladder and my entire line up of duct testing equipment (i work for the power co) in the hatch of my 2005 RSXS...it there is a WILL, there is a WAY!

Yes Murph...my WORKS are going back on.

Hey All, post Super Bowl update!

Ok, so, after work I swung by Acura to pick up my wheels...I dropped them off Thursday night and a buddy of mine mounted and balanced them (thanks Dre, Eric and TJ at Acura of P Pines!). Cost was similar to what I've paid at tires plus except these guys have a new roadforce machine and already took it on the highway and it's butter. I'll likely get an alignment with them just for peace of mind.

As it stands, I have another year on my alignments from Tire Kingdom but I'm really convinced they either don't know what they are doing or the machine is off. My last tires were probably shot with 5k left of tread due to bad toe...even after 3 alignments during the life of my falken 452's.

I found these on clearance at tirerack for $105 per tire...225 35 19 is going out of production for the continental extemecontact DW's. My first impression of the narrower tire...friggin awesome clearance, no more slight rubbing. Tires are quiet...seem to handle really well (solid sidewall!) on turns and curved acceleration. Took it from exit to another on the highway and the tires feel nice...So far, I love them.

So happy to have my works back on...I missed them.

on a side note, my engine covers are holding up great! :

Ok, my ninja mod was that I picked up a used set of work RS lugs...funny enough, the blue doesn't match the valvestems perfectly but honestly, you can't tell and i love them. I didn't want the open ended because I like how chunky and obvious these look the black backdrop.

On the fronts...of course I just recently put on extended studs to use a 10MM spacer with the aspecs...well what do you know, +25 (+35 rim with the 10MM spacer) was too aggressive up front with the camber set almost factory. Putting in negative camber was not an option for me. So since the closed ended lugs would accommodate the longer studs (it was close...a couple of mm's) I had to carefully and frightfully drill out the inside of the lugs...worked like a charm!

I'll be able to rotate this way, since I noticed I don't think the tires are directional...can swap left and right and also, with the use of the v2 20mm spacer on the back and the 10mm v1 spacer on the front combined with the +35/+45 offset wheels I'd be able to make permutations and combinations to be able to rotate as normal and keep the stance.

MONEY SHOT! Can't wait for my next mod to get here...

and ps...I know, unsprung weight yada yada my wheels must be so heavy...not a LIGHT set of wheels by any stretch of the imagination, but was VERY happy to see that my oem enkei 18's with tires are only 2.5 pounds lighter than my works. VERY happy. I'll take the extra weight, no problem. If it helps, the Work lugs are super lightweight so maybe that balances out?

and thanks to my super hot awesome camerawoman...I got some stagnant rolling shots!
Oh, and did another quick mod today...didn't need my switch to kill the remote wire for my amps anymore since they are quiet now, so I jumpered that out (easy to reverse in the future) and used the switch under my kick panel as an ON/OFF for my DRL module. I'd been such a schizo about whether or not I wanted yellow lights on or off, especially since I've been rockin the white parking lights lately and that clashed with the yellow DRLs in the oem fog location. I kept having to pop the hood and pull the fuse on the DRL module. So I ran two wires back into the cabin to the switch and can now cut it off...you'll see in the 1st vid. I also took the time to clean up the engine bay and I tiewrapped and cleaned up a lot of other little wiring that I'd let get messy over the years. LOVE the outcome.
similar but different zoom

Goodnight all!
J

Looking really good J....really like you works and hence in my last comment I asked you to put some cardboard between them when stacking em like that

great surprise with the lugs....but then I think open ended longer lugs would have looked a lotttt better.....

finally the video looks sweeet.....i would rename the 1st one as "warming up my new tires in slo-mo" LMAO

Overall glad you got the works back....

EDIT: always ask for the alignment spec sheet....if you want i can post up the one from Firestone's Hunter machine....so you can compare the range and see if Tire Kingdom are doing a decent job....

Glad to see you rocking the wheels again...Sell me your aspecs now!

Do you happen to know what the measurement from the ground to your fender is? I'm having my car aligned next week and im still tinkering with my coils height. I do understand wheel size makes a difference on adjustments, but im looking for a similar stance height.

Right mow i'm at 25" all around (ground to fender height)

Thanks

Looks great man. I love the Works, but I can't get over those A-Spec wheels either. Both look really good on your car. Moar vids!

btw, where are the Accord pics with the 25mm spacers installed?!

great surprise with the lugs....but then I think open ended longer lugs would have looked a lotttt better.....

finally the video looks sweeet.....i would rename the 1st one as "warming up my new tires in slo-mo" LMAO

Overall glad you got the works back....

EDIT: always ask for the alignment spec sheet....if you want i can post up the one from Firestone's Hunter machine....so you can compare the range and see if Tire Kingdom are doing a decent job....
Hey Anil...trust me, I know why you said it...but I had the rim faces away from each other so there was nothing really to scratch up but the back faces of the rims which are all chipped up from the road anyway. I was careful...trust me. Thanks btw!

About the lugs, I did like the open ended, but a couple of factors played into it for me...
1. I got these for 1/2 the price I found the open ended ones for...and I didn't like the open ended ones double how much I liked these.
2. The open ended ones, although longer, didn't look as "chunky" and have as much blue to look at...also, I had concerns with the lock portion sticking out too much making it easier to use a one size socket tool to remove it easily for theft.
3. My fiancee and visual analyst looked at them both and agreed that although she liked them both, the closed ended got the thumbs up.

I won't say that I'd NOT think about it in the future though...if I found a killer deal.

Do you happen to know what the measurement from the ground to your fender is? I'm having my car aligned next week and im still tinkering with my coils height. I do understand wheel size makes a difference on adjustments, but im looking for a similar stance height.

Right mow i'm at 25" all around (ground to fender height)

Thanks
Thanks man!!

Yeah, I'm too much of a schizo to ever sell my aspecs...I love how they look too! So when I get bored, i have them...or to have a backup set of wheels and also to have the oem's for when I sell the car one day.

J

About the height...I don't know what it is, but I'll get a measurment for you...the aspecs looked more tucked but the car looks lower now. I know I have the front threads measured (the way Tein tells you to, lower perch to bottom of shock body) at about 3/8" and the back at about 3/4". BUT, my measurement will also be thrown off by the camber because I have it set pretty straight which raises the car up a bit too.

btw, where are the Accord pics with the 25mm spacers installed?!
John...thanks, bud. I DO love both sets of wheels in a major way. I will get someone to drive my car and get a rolling video of it one of these days...I have been meaning to do that for the longest time.

About the accord, it's filthy, i didn't have time to clean it up for her...and again, thanks to you, I'm now waiting on my H&R 15MM v1 spacer to show up for her since now she decided the front looks silly with the back being so flush. I've created a monster. Found a killer deal on ebay...make an offer $60 shipped...the guy took it. So I'll probably be doing that next week. OEM 8th gen accords have super weak offsets...her car stands out, that's for sure.

Thanks again for the swap, glad the 20mm's will work out for you. And ps...great looking family too. that pic of your and your kids shadow is amazing.

J.

haha that cracks me up about your fiancee. My wife would never notice. Sounds like you got out of it easy though...$60 is a good deal for 15mm V1's, especially since they aren't knockoffs.

Thanks for the compliments...every once in a while I'll snap a decent photo. We'll be in Orlando for spring break. Drive up so I can take some pics of your car. It's just around the block for you lol. Besides, I'll be having TL withdrawals all week I'm sure...
