I think Nichio and Kurbs have my favorite color TL's....

Around. Actually, idk what the issue is but I'm having "script issues" and AZ has been useless lately. It freezes and then I get impatient and do something else. Right now it's being good, probably because it's like 4am. Also I lost my job...after being transferred to that area of the University.
So I am cool enough to have a nickname, you are not...got it. Also no. Fish FTW.
Lemme know when you sends them, the stupid delivery people put packages at the wrong door. How hard is it to tell the difference between an F and an H???

Thanks for the friendly banter, my fine feathered friends. Much love to you all and Josh...that's the point, man...to make everyone smile!
Steven...did I miss something? I don't know what you mean. But I agree...that green color, carbon bronze, and kinetic blue are my absolute favorite colors for the TL.
Look what I got to see coming out of the local Chili's this afternoon...what a gorgeous ride!
Some contrast...LOVE this one. Car is filthy for these shots btw...tried the FLP lense (meant for fluorescent lights)...still haven't used the UV filter. Last week I tried the one that increases saturation
I also shot these in NO FLASH mode, since it was dark, auto was trying to kick the flash open which ruins the shot on NBP. I didn't really have enough time to mess with Manual mode.
Just trying to get an idea what different combinations of lens and filter give the best result depending on the lighting etc. I'm not SUPER proud of this set of shots, but there are a few decent ones, I guess.
Also, I'm becoming a Nazi photo purist...I edited 2 shots, and I hate them. I feel like it's cheating.

Bro editing FTW, sometimes the camera can't display what you want it to, so some editing is needed, no overdoing it though. I like the spot you picked out though, the red looks awesome!
Also if you put the camera in "P" mode (one click towards manual from the green box on the dial) it will shoot on auto but you can keep the flash down, if you want the flash, press the button that looks like a lightning bolt on the front of the body.

Hmmm...really? SO Program will shoot LIKE Auto but NOT pop the flash up? Great to know, my friend. Thanks for that!
Let's see what's up with doing your headlights...once you get all the stuff, we'll try and nail down a Sunday morning I can get away and give you a hand. Maybe you can do the bumper and remove the lights the night before and I'll just help you with popping them open. To be honest...once I popped ONE open, I was like...MAN, was THAT what I was worried about?!?!! SO EASY!
I liked that last one that I touched up, obviously...new avi!

What Ive been doing lately with most pics is just keeping it simple. I adjust the brightness a bit, maybe the colors to make them a little more true, and thats it.

Most pics I crop (if needed), adjust brightness, contrast and vibrance, and some slight saturation changes.
Also, my night pics I did the other night, I would edit the whole pic to make the car look good, then edit everything else around it separately.

I've been editing lately, much to my own hatred of it. Basically just been shooting in RAW and using the Camera Raw in CS4 to get the lighting and shit perfect since I can't always get it. Also can get some cool effects sometimes. Nice pics J

Double I've been shooting in RAW for the past two years or so. Theres a huge difference and much more adjustability.

Just to give you an idea of what editing can do for you J...

Much more pleasing to look at IMO colors are popping instead of being bland and overall boring. I try not to over-edit but it's easy to get carried away

I need to stop being cheap and just get some flashes with remote triggers. My friend has them and I played with them for a bit. They're pretty fun.

I need flashes so badly, they dramatically improve photos and you can adjust them so they can bounce off walls and such, they're just too expensive and I have car mods to do

Exactly! Ive heard good things about the relatively inexpensive wireless triggers though. And if you lurk the forums enough you can find used flashes for a good price.

Yeah, I feel you on the pictures, they do look great with a little editing, but I was feeling pretty good about not needing to edit. BUT, in some instances I can see that it is still necessary to clean up/darken lighten/sharpen and desaturate.
I appreciate all the compliments and comments, boys. I am taking notes, trust me.

Always here to help
You're right though, it's better to set up your scene first instead of taking a snap shot and editing a ton later.
Do it right while you're there and you'll reward yourself when you get back home

Haha no
You'll be rewarded with minimal need to edit because your photo will be nearly perfect to start with.

Isn't that kinda what fapping is trying to achieve?!!?
I know, Austin...just kidding around. Trust me, I try and make sure I pick a kind time of day where the sun isn't going to be TOO revealing...and a cool spot that'll make the NBP pop with the backround (hence the red this time). Then, hope they come out crispy!

Dawn or dusk are the best times to shoot a dark car. Or if its overcast. Of course you can go heavy on the editing and try to bring the car out if you shoot in direct sunlight, but its a pain in the ass.

I've found that too...
in full sun, it'll wash the car out and make the details SUCK. Dawn, dusk and rainy time are my absolute favorite times to shoot...or at at the least, in full sun, but find the shade of a tree etc.
In that photoshoot in front of that school, I hid under the shade of the awning. Much more forgiving!
