@ GTR

and about exhaust drone, I wudnt mess with the exhaust by putting a resonator/etc until you know for certain that a $25 wrap wont do a thing....

I like taking baby steps to fixing an issue....i dont do a $100 mod thinking it will fix when $25 will do just fine

also when the exhaust gets hot (and stays hot) the exhaust pulses move at a certain velocity....when they reach the muffler/resonator, different pulses make different noises, some frequencies create drone, some create rasp and some create a different tone....hence you will only have drone/rasp at certain rpm which is the gasses moving at certain speed....by wrapping the exhaust you tend to keep the heat in and hence "modify" the speed of the exhaust pulses....it may or maynot help with the drone/rasp....but I certainly think its worth a try....

in the end, its your dime and your car

Don't think so Steven, I was a little away from colleges. That place is all business people
Tomorrow is the crazy day of Boston Steven
Sep 1st, thousands of students moving out from their houses and moving in at the same time
and dads restaurant is at right in between all of them

Anil, whatever happens I know I will not be happy if I cut the exhaust or something
So I might try wrapping the test pipe? at least?
and I am ok with it right now, so if wrapping could reduce it a little bit more, I am cool with it.

By the way my MPG went up soooooo goood, it's like night and day difference, I wasn't expecting that, might be 225s balance allignment and exhaust, but car goes soooo smooth now and could breath and exhale finally

Dude, does that sentence go with my personality?
I am going crazy to hold my self to not floor it , I did for 4 times actually but guess what, happy with the MPG
Testing it for couple tanks, after that, naaah I know what it gives, so no need to save gas

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Won't be able to do that as well
See below

I am driving like a normal person since last 200 miles (did half tank)
Will post pic later on
anyways,

This morning, drove to Boston from Woburn, like a normal person again
Got on Comm Ave, car doesn't shift to 4th gear
It got
Grabbing it, leaving it, grabbing it leaving it
Didn't see any flash on "D" light any any

I guess no threads on 4th anymore
Will see what it will do this evenin haha

Ohhh, you guys know my check engine light came on again
After not driving the car for a day, check engine went off by itself
I guess takes 24 hrs for my tanny fluid to cool down
Next day, it came on again
I think I need another drain fill

It sucsk though, why would you put so much power if your tranmission sucsk...idiots
By the way the guy that does a MT swap, said he is full for 3 weeks, and it takes 2 days and only works on weekdays
Everything comes to $3900....everything

Faruk, I am going to ask Acura about that refurbed tranny swap. Still haven't

Don't know how she got in there

^^ pfft 26 mpg

Took my 3G to Toronto on Wednesday and just came back yesterday, 1200 miles , average mpg 32 this is with a trunk full of luggage and three other occupants beside my chunky self

I should mention that my TL is pretty much stock now beside the Jpipe and type S precats.

Dude, I still say the same thing, you have a very very good case of getting a tranny replaced through your dealer

check out this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/another-transmission-takes-dump-106k-894917/

OP is original owner with a good track record with the dealership and I know you have a good relationship with your dealer as well, fight with them and get it done.

Steven, guess what

Faruk don't compare your MPG with mine
Here's mine,

Anil knows this, If I don't leave MA, most I was able to get from my car was 300 miles per tank, 150 half tank
That's when I live with my parents, Woburn to Boston (city)

While living in Woburn, 150 half tank
While living in Boston, 100 half tank
If I go to NY and come back with little Manhatten city drive, I used to see 410+ full tank

First time without leaving MA I saw 200miles half tank

and guess when? While slowing down on highway because my tranny didn't grab gears anymore
I swear to God, look at my speed, I was slowing down and saw 200 miles, took a pic
After that car just didn't go

YUP ladies, my tranny died
It just doesn't change gears. I take it to R, or D...it feels like in N
Doesn't move
Got it towed to Acura

and this is exactly right before it failed, after this, car felt like it was in Neutral
I am holding the gas steady

and here car is slowing down by itself...just doesn't go and saw 200 miles half tank
It suppose to be 150 miles. I live in Woburn right now
Same roads, same distances but 200 miles half tank

aaaaaaaaaaand we stop

Thank god I was not slammed. 5 or 7 threads up at the rear teins don't remember exactly and less than a finger gap between pavement and exhaust tips

Look it's on R by the way

Faruk, will do every step you told me on the text. Hope I'll pass with this by just paying the labor

yup its the 3.7 SHAWD Manifold and TB...yup, the manifold is ported and polished and the TB is polished open....yes, its so simple that even a caveman can do it....you, not sure

it wont benefit the most unless you run a 3.5" - 4" intake...3.5" should be an easy fit for you....the 4" intake was a pain in the butt to fit....

also, you will need to port and polish the runners, that helps you gain even more....

I have the list of part#'s that you will need for the swap....let me know if you want it

PS: be ready, the setup (with air intake and filter) will run you ~1000 bucks....the most expensive part is the TB....you will need the manifold cover as well since our covers do not fit the 4g manifold....

You can run the ZDX TB, that is cheaper....but not sure if people are having any issues with that....I have ZERO idling issues with mine

if you want a cheaper alternative, send your TB to King and have them bore it out....then take your manifold and runners to a shop and get them ported and polished and port matched....add a 3.5" intake to this and call it a day....this should be ~400-500 bucks...

You asshole hahahaha

Dammit, I didn't expect that to be 1k
Second choice sounds smarter, but can I drive my car without the manifold?

Not anymore
What Faruk told me about tranny is the best way if works out.
Pay the labor, done
Throwing 4k is not smart I know but biggest thing that pushed me away was, go get parts, spend 3 days, drive to Paul, has to be on weekdays, no warranty, who knows what's going to happen but...

Faruk, they took the car in today, friend gave me a call.
Told him about the refurbed... he said he will do something for me but lets see.

^^ Glad there is a decent hope, as I thought.

The biggest thing you got going on for you is the fact that you are the original owner, you had the car serviced with them forever plus this is your first blown tranny.

Should be a smooth experience but as I said in my text, if they start to show sign of negating the idea then mention my case and how sunnyside took care of it.

Will you be slightly adjusting your driving style/maintenance to ensure this next one will last?

How much will you be out of pocket for the refurb?

Of course not.
This one took me 126k, guessing new one would at least do 80k
I am watching Senna again to recharge myself
Left me right at the time while enjoying the exhaust

28:50 to 37:20
Son of a b. Prost

It's around $900, which is just the labor. That's a different Acura dealer. Sooo.. waiting for a better price from the dealer I go to.

Haven't got a call yet. That's just my thoughts about replacing the tranny...

Anil, what do you mean bore out the TB?
What if I just take the IM clean it get it ported and polished?

1:12:22 to 1:12:53
Exactly what I said after testing the BMW 335
Felt the same thing with the M3.. brothers friend
I just can't love the new cars, too much electronic

and movie is wrong, it's not the suspensions that killed Senna

Jeremy,
From now on all I am going to do is highway miles to work... usually
Like 45 miles per day
Don't think I am going to harm the tranny too much like before
