Reason I want that Audi is,
even some S4s has wood interior trim which I hate
interior is not gray or white everywhere, it's black but only leather parts on door and seats are white, which I love
and that's the knob I know from 1999, which I have been fan of since then, b5 s4 has a different knob. I love the feeling of this friggen a4
It's clean too

Ok forget suspension, will get coils but, kind of scared about the arms after what we had with friends c5 2.7T

But after looking at my TL... world stops

I would personally keep the TL over the Audi.

My cousin and brother-in-law, both had that particular Audi and hated them. My brother-in-law eventually traded it for a 6MT TL and my cousin only had it for 6 months before getting rid of it.

 

^^^ Wil usually am suggesting people to stay away from Audi/BMW but not sure if I will on this occasion....

Audi is AWD, TL is not
Audi is MT, TL is not
Audi's transmission is working, TL's is not LOL...

Meko, before you buy that Audi though, take it in for a 150 point inspection....sure it will be $100 but you will be sure that stuff works on it and it doesnt need a $3000 transmission....

and if you buy it, first thing I would do is spend $500 only fluid and get new engine oil and filter, transmission flush, coolant flush, bleed brakes, bleed clutch, power steering flush....new cabin and engine air filter....check brakes....this way you know whats in the car

For the Avalon, i looked at them before I got the TL and even though it says 280 hp I think the Corolla was faster for that year (0-60 times.. and I also could be exaggerating but not by much) ... that is what annoyed me.. it rides great.. like a cloud.. but the handling and performance suck.. but if no one cares about speed, acceleration or driving into and out of corners then it is a good gradnfather type of ride

with the A4s... just do your research which I am guessing you are doing.. I just hear horror stories of money being put into it.. then again you putting money into the TL too

however I love the FXs.. gas mileage sucks but it is fast and looks great

Did 270 miles half tank. Takes around 20 gal I think

Including getting in to NYC traffic a little and passing to NJ
And on the way back, oil change light came on. Not a fresh oil

I did redlight run with a 4th gen TL, non sh-awd, he was faster haha

I used Rt-15 on the way back, for around 90 miles
I don't know if you know that road but Anil knows probably,
Fun road, so many turn and only 2 lanes, didn't go lower than 95mph but this thing just can't pass 100 mph
I hated it, handles nice everything good but slower than I expected
TL passes 120 before I look at the gauges

Sound of the FX? Nah not loud enough like the first gen
It has an amazing tone, I am serious, the tone makes me think of Ferrari, amazing but it's not always there and have to listen it very well Not loud
Have to heat up the exhaust and you hear it sometimes with middle RPM range and high gears

This thing is a must
This car is completely stock with only the exhaust.
Stock: Max Power 258.38, Max Torque 222.07
w/ Exhaust: Max Power 274.17, Max Torque 242.06


People throw G37s muffler on it (bolt on), sounds just like G37, nice but....this is FX you want something better

Take it as your gift, enjoy it for this winter and maybe another few years and then use it as a down payment on your next fun endeavor.

 

Mek...get the FX. Then get yourself a cheap crazy 5MT car you can work on and drive REALLY hard on the weekends and when it's nice weather out.

With miltek exhaust, oohhh sounds damn nice, but still was nothing compared to MT TL

I totally have no idea what some people talk about our clutch being hard
Know all BMWs Audis blah blah but this was like the best MT I've ever driven
Especially the shifting, close, not too much angle, short.... it was just perfect for the timing of a fast shifting
Didn't even loose a gap, perfect...that perfect

Yes I did 0 to 60 on the back of the Auction place

Dude, I understand...I promise you. I test drove 4G AWD, 3.8 Genesis Coupe, A3 TDI, Mustang 5.0 (3 times) and nothing made me happy enough to want to sign away $30-40K

Every time, I felt relieved to get back into my TL and drive away. She's not perfect, but she's all mine.
