Perfect. i have a WDP 07 Type S as well and i love the look of those wheels on the car. Im thinking about pulling the trigger on these bad boys but i gotta sell my TSWs first. With the XXR's, are you running any spacers and if so, how big? Thanks

^Correct. No need for spacers unless you get the +35 offset and need to clear the factory Brembos.

Aspecs are less concave but +45...wouldn't a 35 clear without issue too?

^^ You would think J, but someone over in the XXR 530 thread had an issue with the +35 hitting him Brembo brakes and scratching them a little, so I think he is looking to run a 7mm spacer to give it some clearance.

no kidding...
that's the one concept I'm not too comfortable with is taking the concavity or hi/low disc on a deep dish into account in relation to the offset.

Yeah, a lot of it depends on the shape of the face of the wheels. My Works are +35 and clear the Brembos fine without any spacers.

did you ever figure out which locks fit with these wheels? i saw earlier that you said the muteki locks won't fit in the holes? i would def need locks on mine, but haven't found anything either.

also, TLdude sent you an ebay link in the xxr 530 thread but it was for 12x1.25...but we are 12x1.5 correct?

The ebay lugs/locks that TLdude mentioned will work fine. That vendor also has the 12x1.5 thread pitch for Hondas/Acuras.

Just to clarify, the Muteki locks fit on the XXR's, but the lock key is too thick.

Sorry, inside joke about the semantics of calling the lug "hole" in a rim the lug socket...and then needing a socket to get in the socket for lug removal. John and I ended up being right about many different uses of the word socket.

Ok Thanks. Currently i am at stock height untill i gather some funds for a nice set of coilovers. I plan on going with +20mm offset. How much poke you think i will have with the 9.75 in the rear? and how much if i go with 8.75 all around? i want as much concavity as possible so im not sure if im willing to sacrifice concavity for less pokeage.

Since i do not know when ill be able to lower the car, i dont want my car to look ridiculous with 3 feet of poke until i lower it haha

Thanks!

^The poke won't be extreme. Look in the 530 thread. There are pics of the 9.75" that show the poke without being slammed...

Updates:

Did the "stage 3" exhaust mod last week, which is the removal of the mid muffler and replacement of the OEM resonator with an aftermarket resonator, in my case, Dynomax model #24235. Here are some pics and a vid:

In the air with OEM resonator and mid muffler section cut out:

Mid-muffler removed:

Welding new sections in:

Dynomax resonator and mid-muffler delete done:

Overall, I love the new sound. It adds a nice G37'ish growl from 2-3k that sounds very smooth. After 3k at cruising speeds it gets very quiet again. The WOT tone sounds more throaty now without being too loud/obnoxious.

HD Vid:

Lastly, I couple outtakes from the mini-shoot I did the other day:

I really like it...loud when I want it to be and quiet when I want it to be. I'll be on a road trip Monday, so I'll get to see what it's like on the highway, but I'm fully expecting it to sound just like the stock exhaust.

Thanks Anil. I was looking for an inexpensive way to make the car sounds better, which is why I went the "stage" route instead of a full bolt-on setup.

That's what I'm looking for too. Not something loud and obnoxious 24/7. Loud when you stomp it and a nice deep hum at idle.

Any specific reason you went with the Dynomax as oppose to something else?

And where did you buy it at? Internet or what?

Went with the Dynomax after Chip (The Machine) used it to calm is rasp issue. The Dynomax is roughly the same length as the stock resonator....anything shorter will be make the exhaust louder and potentially raspier. They sell the Dynomax I used on Amazon for $50-60, but I got lucky and found mine new on ebay for $30.

Any pics of the Oem resonator? Was it straight through, like the mid muffler? I hate to say it, but sounds almost exactly like mine with cat and mid muff removed.

Here is a pic of all three resonators, top one is the stock resonator, the middle one is the resonator John and I have on our cars. The third is the typical resonator used in the stage three mod, but if you have a j pipe installed you will get rasp.

The only difference between the stock and middle dynomax resonator is the overall circumference of the resonating chamber. Each resonating chamber is 18"

Cool. I meant more looking through the pipe. Any chambers or rifling to it? I know the mid muff was straight through, just with perforated pipe, like a "turbo" style muffler. I have a Magnaflow resonator camping in the garage, but liked the way Jpipe, cat delete, mid muffler removed (Stage 1?) sounded, and didnt want to mess with it further.
