Double Dee's Progress Thread

So I joined way back when I got my first car, a 2000 TL. I was going to mod it but decided not to since I wasn't planning on keeping it. So I've been lurking ever since. I always wanted a 3G so I started saving and after a really long search I found one! A 2008 WDP TL Type S. So far all I've done is dinoc the center grill and the rear bar over top the plate, Interior LED's and I also tinted the side mirror blinkers. Next I will be painting my calipers white with the G2 kit.

Future plans:
Aspec kit
Mild drop-most likely aspec suspension
Tint
Black roof
Rims- Either Avant Garde M310 or Rota G Force

And I'm sure this list will grow. And here are a few pictures of course!

Nice job on the grill. I'm very interested to see what the calipers will look like white, the G2 paint is great stuff. I did my base calipers black and it came out very nice. WDP FTW!!

Thanks! I checked out springs just a little nervous about not getting an even drop with them.

I've heard good things about the G2 paint, I'm just unsure of what clear coat to use to put over the brembo decals. I've heard some clear coats will yellow and that wouldn't look good at all on white. I'm open to any suggestions on this! Would like to get this done asap

Hmm, I don't think you will need any clear coat after using the G2 caliper paint. The way that it dries leaves a nice shine behind that does not fade or chip. I had this on my previous car for a few years and color never faded and the paint never dulled a bit. G2 is really good stuff.

Yea that's what G2 says under their FAQ's. They don't recommend using a clear coat, but I don't know if the decals would stay on without a clear coat over them?? The only other thing that might work would be sticking them on while the paint is still a little wet. Just don't know if I trust that method though.

Dee, I've never had a problem with uneven drops with Sports Springs. They were only $245 as opposed to over $1,000 with coilovers.

ya dont do clear coat, I have mine done yellow and its glossy as hell already. as far as the decal I've had zero issues with mine sticking on and my friend on here has had his done longer than me and no issues with his. I mean worse case if it does come off two or three years down the road clean the caliper off and apply another decal.

Love the ride. The Type S ride is stiff already. I feel like it made it even firmer.

Lol yea sorry no ....yet. But thanks! And I just took one big piece and took my time with it. Its really really hard piece to do, but patience will pay off. I actually had to cut it twice to get it perfect, but I was careful where I cut and I also cut along the weave so it blends in better.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

A little update for you guys, I forgot to add that I installed a HID kit in my fogs. I used the 4300K Morimoto Elite system from The Retrofit Source. Nice kit and very easy install if you take your bumper off. I only have one picture for now.

Thanks! That means a lot coming from you! Really appreciate all the compliments!

A little mod update: Aspec kit is probably going to be the next mod, I just don't know if I should get that or fuel my other hobby...Dirt biking. Looking at a new bike right now too. Have some decisions to make!! Or I'll just say screw it and get both!
