Rims look sweet man, and the drop will just bring it all together. WDP is such an awesome color on these cars, and really allows for nice accent colors. I'm having a hell of a hard time deciding on what color to do my calipers, whereas with a WDP, I would have done exactly what you did

Thanks a lot man!

And as far as coils no, not looking to slam it. Its my DD and I'm putting 1000km on it per week, plus the roads aren't very good and my driveway is pretty steep. I'm just looking to get rid of the wheel gap. Maybe down to 1 finger gap? thats why I'm leaning towards coils cause I'm not exactly sure how low I want to be! But there is a set of used tein ss for sale local for $650, really really want to jump on them but I don't have the funds right now. I also like the idea of adding the edfc possibly later on.

And everyone is always more than welcome to post pics here!! The more the merrier!

say no more, my friend!

Here they are...fronts are maxed out, rears are 1/4" threading left with 19's and camber corrected from the upper arm all around.

You can go PLENTY low.
And PS...not to shoot myself in the foot if I ever sell mine, but the Tein Advance replaced the Tein SS and the price dropped to the $800's. So a used set of SS, you might be able to get the seller to come down a little bit.

I don't want to contradict Anil but I think for someone not looking to ride too low and wants a bit of a "softer" ride, the SS might fit the bill.

Also, did you see the link to the hubcentrics for $8, shipped? They should do the trick.

Yes I did see the link, just ordered them! Thanks a lot! saved a little bit of $$ that can go towards coils now!

And yea thats what I was thinking too. Might as well just spend the little bit extra and get new ones. So many choices though! Just trying to find the best bang for the buck. I don't think I'd go as low as you but you never know. Your car is so nice! I'd say its just about perfect!

KJ & k1x- Thanks for the compliments!

KJ, silver is a tough colour to get a theme with, but i've always liked the sliver/blue combo. Its a little hard to pull off with a TL though and you would need blue accents elsewhere as well. Blue lugs and blue ring in the headlight like rockstar would look pretty good I think!

love when someone hits that high mileage !!!

welcome into the 6 digit club

I love the Teins....I went from Tein Basic to XLR8 ISC N1's and love the amount of adjustability it gives me....Tein Basics give only height adjustability and SS/SA give height + Dampening adjustability and cost around 800 odd bucks and you have to reuse your top hats....

XLR8 N1's offer height + dampening + preload adjustability and come with top hats and all for 850 shipped

with the Teins your can get EDFC and hence adjust your dampening with an electronic unit, ISC n1's dont offer that....i hope this helps you make an informed decision....

either way, you can go wrong with either setup....if you order Teins from HeelToe, use "swoosh" as a coupon code and i think you will save 4 or 5% off your order....more details in the thread in my sig

Not so high mileage, remember it km's so I'm actually only at about 60 000 miles (I think that's the conversion) but it's not going to take me long to get the high mileage!

The top hat thing I'm not so fond of but I don't think I would consider it a deal breaker. The EDFC like I said before I think it would be a nice option but once again, not a deal breaker. I'll see what kind of price I can get on the used tein's. But If buying new I think the ISC's are a little bit better buy.

aaah....well hoping you get in the high mileage pretty soon

and the only good thing about preinstalled top hats is that you can install the suspension setup in less than half the time....

i was wanting to buy teins SS as well but i went with ISC just because of the preload adjustment....as you said having EDFC/Top hats is a good thing but not a deal breaker....i was on the same boat

Oh I'll be joining the high mileage club fairly quickly! I'm putting about 1100km (684 miles) per week just driving to school and back everyday.

And yea the preinstalled tops hats would be nice just to cut down on installation time and to keep the work at a minimum but the price is more important to me right now since I'm only working about 16hrs/week making minimum wage. But right now the used tein's look like they're going to be the ones for me!

our "knob" is a cute green allen key wrench that we insert into the little adjustment knob up there. They are there...well, one looks like it's missing, but it's probably because the green top alignment hat is in the way in the picture.
I'm hoping you got BOTH of those...

I don't know why, but it irks me when people that are selling something don't take the time to clean it up beforehand. I'm the new owner, why am I cleaning your sh*t. Unless it was super cheap, of course

They are the SS's that I mentioned earlier. Not quite a year old and they were never on during the winter. So they're practically brand new.

Yes I have both of the green alignment hats. The only things I don't have are the wrenches for adjusting the height and the little green knobs.

I'm with ya on cleaning your items before selling!! But not big deal I guess

You just need an allen wrench to adjust...and that's only if you drill out the strut tower bar or get the RV6. Otherwise, you can just do it by hand.

Rims is hot, but i'd say loose the amber reflector, lower the car, slap a aspec kit on. Brembo's color match'd with car. Stands out. Now u just need to do da same for the rims, like 213swampy

Thanks guys!

6SPD- I just picked up some coils, I'm not sure when I'll install them but most likely in the spring. I have thought about modding the headlights, I'm just not sure if I want to tackle it. Aspec kit is on my list and I will get it eventually! And swampy's car is nice! a little too low for my liking though.

My progress is probably done for now, at least until spring time. I need to save money so I can afford to continue going to school and I don't have much free time for installs. When I'm not in school, I'm doing homework/driving to and from school (1hr each way)/working etc. and when I'm not doing any of that I'm sleeping! It sucks!! But I will still collect parts over the winter and I will install the easy ones right away. The bigger installs however will need to wait for the warmer weather to come!

How can you have your suspension sitting in your room and not install it? Don't they have one of those mechanic bays you can go rent locally!?!?!

Lol trust me, Its killing me!! But I still need top hats, and I noticed that I'm missing a bump stop plate on one of them. So I need to somehow track one of those down. But even if I did have one of those bays around I just don't have the time unfortunately. I'm sure they'll be installed the minute I get the rest of the parts and get some extra time on my hands!!

If I recall correctly, the bump stop plate transfers over from your stock suspension...but once seated you need a hammer to knock it loose. I bet that one you have is leftover from the other guy that owned them and didn't take 1 of them off.

To be honest I have no idea. I've been trying to find an installation manual online but I'm not having any luck. It looks like Tein took all their manuals off their site. And I have 3 bump stop plates, I'm missing one. Do they come with the top hats? Not sure if these are washers or the plates pictured here.

^^^Yeah, but that is depicting stuff you'd get with your oem tophat set...not something you'd find on your TEIN already. Don't quote me, but I don't think I got anything but the coilovers, dustcaps, springs, 2 front sleeves...that's it...all else is transferred over from oem.

Oh yea I know, that's why I was looking for the installation manual. To see what the Teins come with and compare it to what I have. Then I'd be able to see what I still needed to order.

Well "swampy's" car is mad low. doesn't mean u must "slam dunk" the car.. But since u got the "coils" u can utalize dem when u get the chance & then slap on the Aspec kit to get make the car more presentable

The coils come with just the basics. The shock, the spring, wrenches, damping tool and instructions. Everything else comes from your OEM suspension or you can get all new parts for ~$130.

Look for the TEIN Street Advanced thread in the Tires & Wheels section. He has been kind enough to provide all the part numbers required.

Personally I really liked having all new parts, new suspension, why not new bushings and stuff? It made it really easy, yank out OEM suspension, replace with the coilover fully assembled. Done.

Thanks man! I've been to that thread a few times I must have just missed that info! And I would much rather get new top hats and what not just make the install go faster. And just incase I have to sell the car or something goes wrong, it wont be that big of deal to swap back.
