The more I look at it the more I see part of the problem besides the material itself. That metal sleeve is just too small in diameter. You need something that's twice the outer diameter and of course the same inner diameter. It would leave less urethane to deform (and slightly more NVH) but you would have much more surface area which I think would cure this issue. This would be a very simple mod from the maker of the mounts. Maybe I should patent it lol.

This is pretty close to Rodney's turbo kit with the exception of the AEM EMS, fuel return and injectors. Not sure what the custom turbo actually is but the turbo we all have is obviously capable of 12lbs of boost.
I wonder what the longevity of the engine is with stock internals at that level of HP.
Rodney said that the rdx injectors run into the upper end of their duty cycle at around 400hp and has them modified to provide more flow. Seems as though it only takes a bump of 30cc/min to gain another 100hp but it's probably close to their limit as well.

From the video it doesn't sound like 500hp either.

I would be interested in hearing from Joey as well about the EMS and how that works out since I thought we would lose fuctions like the gauges, headlights and others that made it unattractive for most of us. I also feel like I have seen that car on YouTube for the last 4 years and wonder what took so long to tune.

The torque damper can help with shock but the mounts will have the same amount of load on them during steady state pulls. They have no effect other than to slow down the movement which can help with wheel hop and response but the mounts will still have the same failure. You could probably modify the existing mounts without even buying new ones if you can find the proper sleeve in the center.

replaced the radiator hoses with some silicone ones. even though the rubber hoses were wrapped in dei exhaust wrap, they were still cracked in the area where they touch the manifold piping. these silicone hoses are a little easier to manipulate in terms of bending so I need to twist them a little more so they dont sit on the piping
added an oil temp sensor to the drain plug. it certainly takes a lot longer then i originally expected for the oil temps to reach over 180.

I just had an argument on another forum with a chick and i tried telling her that on a cold start in a cold climate, if you let it idle for 10 minutes with no driving that sometimes the oil will never hit a minimum temp of 160 degrees. I also tried to explain that the oil takes a lot longer to warm up than the water but she apparently knows better lol. How long would you say it takes the oil to get to 160 without driving?
i would think it would take a minimum of 15 minutes for the oil to get over 160 just from idling.

That's what I'm talking about, some real boost lol. Life begins at 20psi.

damn
but Bert, not to shizz on your turf, how much usable HP are you putting down? if you go to a track what do you think your 1/4 mile time would be?
either way, congrats on being the first TL to hit that boost level

but in 5th gear at that boost i can put all that power to the ground. i certainly dont see that much boost in any other gear...only 5th.
going to buying nitto nt05s pretty soon so I can put some more power to the ground.
ive been wanting to hit the track but i think im a little scared lol...i waited so long to get this car done and after 3 months of teaching myself tunerstudio, i have a solid map and tune with little to no bugs. i would be so pissed if i hit the track and break a gear. breaking an axle is nothing but having to pull the trans is bitch.

I haven't posted or checked this thread since the first kits were released. So glad to hear that you guys are running 500+whp. I do have a ton of questions, specifically towards Libert, whats your CR? Did you only replace your pistons and rods? Have you had any other troubles with the car handling power aside from the old A/T trans and the original pistons? Who built the motor? And finally can i have a ride?

no major problems now with the power level. not getting traction below 70mph and with the cold weather its worse. tires are pretty bald so new rubber in the spring. if and when i start to hook in the lower gears i may begin to break things but theres only one way to find out. just had a 300 mile road trip to atlantic city from long island without a hiccup. im always tunning on the fly just so i know things are perfect.
still get 28mpg on the highway also.

I dont understand...
I am new to acuras, have always owned camaros. Anyway, my buddy owns a supercharged cobalt ss, he is putting down around 500whp (dyno). one thing i know is that even with top and bottom end work, it did not cost no $10g. I dont think he even spent 5. that is a 4 cyl. my TL is the 3.2 v6, whats the difference? i want to be able to whoop his ass! i need someone to simply tell me that the choice to go from chevy to acura was a good idea...
Thanks!
Thanks!

ive been running a custom magnaflow exhaust since the start. 3" ss piping from the downpipe all the way back with a 16" or 18" (cant recall) magnaflow resonator where the stock mid muffler would be. after the split the piping is still 3" and theres 2 magnaflow straight through mufflers
i swapped just the magnaflow mufflers for 2 of those HKS hi power mufflers. now, im very disappointed to say the least. the car sounds almost exactly the same as before. I know the turbo acts as a muffler but damn...not even the slightest change in exhaust note expect for deceleration at higher rpms. even then its nothing major.
anything i can do to try and replicate the tone that is supposed to come from these mufflers? (seen here)...i dont think removing the resonator will do anything other then give me that unwanted drone

I'm going to do some experimenting with the exhaust. I have to move or shorten my mid muffler because it drags over speed bumps. I have a feeling that the mid muffler is doing most of the suppression.
I also want to fix my downpipe so it's tucked up next to the crossover pipe. It's another source of dragging.

what do you mean by "dragging"? is the muffler/crossover "dragging" the exhaust tone?
