I was days away from pulling the trigger on new tires and I really had intentions of heading to the track. I was aiming for a 120mph+ trap

It's probably too early but I've run that turbo on my car and I really like it. Also need a rear BBK, wastegate, and oil temp gauge. When you get the time and if you decide to break it up, let me know what you want for those items. Im guessing youll want to sell the turbo kit as a kit but thought I would ask. That turbo would get my car back on the road and I promise to use it for all its worth. I could always trade you a bad ass Dynaudio sound system for some parts if you decide to do a system in the new car.
FWIW looking at your videos, that car would have been deep in the 120s without a doubt. Sometimes sitting on it for a while is the best thing to do. It would be a shame to sell all of your turbo stuff and then decide you want to take another shot at it with a TL though I totally understand your point about FWD.
Sucks they didn't get the dude. I'm sure if he had clipped you without sending you into the rail you would have had no issues catching him.

Short and simple, I was in a accident and the car is totaled.
Good news, motor, trans, turbo kit (minus 2 intercooler pipes) are fine.
Story...ill say it now, i wasnt even racing. Just driving home from work. Thats the part that pisses me off the most. At least if I was racing I could blame myself and say the car went out like a champ doing what she was made to do lol.
I was crusing at 70mph in center lane. I see in the passenger side mirror some headlights coming up very very fast in the right lane. Didnt pay much mind to it because i was on the hfl and his lane was clear ahead. This a*shole cuts in front me and clips my front bumper. I swerved hard into the left lane, car fishtailed and went into the center concrete barrier on an angle. Bounced off the barrier and went across 3 lanes, clipping another car and going basically head first into the shoulder barrier.
I blacked out for a little bit but when I got out, the only car that was stopped was the one I hit when going across the lanes. The car that started the whole thing was gone.
I walked away with just some soreness so im lucky.
My car is considered totaled but I bought the salvage back. Not sure what direction to go right now. I want to part EVERYTHING out but that just might be a huge hassle. I have the equipment and shop space needed to tear the car down, including pulling the motor.
On the other hand, I have considered picking up a used 6sp TL and swapping every thing over and making a complete sleeper.
Needed another car so I picked up a 2013 Genesis 5.0 R-spec. V8 429hp. Not bad for a hyundai lol

Dibs on the AC condenser..... Sorry, I couldn't resist. Probably too soon for that. But seriously, with a hit like that I hope you don't have any problems down the road, keep us updated. Take it from someone who has been too stubborn in the past to go to the doctor from pain from an accident that what feels like nothing now can become much worse down the road if you don't get it looked at.

Damn!!! So sorry to hear about this! At least you are ok...for now at least, i would definitely go get checked out. I was in a accident like this last year and didn't think anything was wrong but now my back still hurts. Month old 2013 BMW 535i with traction control off in the rain at 70 = hydroplaned into the wall. Total loss.
Maybe too soon but... i've always wanted a turbo tl!!! So far done all the bolt ons i can without going to sc or turbo. Its a sign for me to upgrade I have a 05 6 spd btw. Would like 400hp on the stock top end but we would have to talk more for sure.
If money permits and so do you ill try to buy the whole kit..
aem gauges (boost, a/f, oil temp)
megasquirt ecu w/knock sensor and aem extension harness
catch cans (moroso can and custom can for both valve covers)
pt6262 turbo polished
manifold piping
walbro pump
fuel return setup with p2r fuel rails
aem boost soloniod
tial wastegate
hybrid shifter bushings
intercooler
couplers
clamps
amsoil 8" air filter/piping
Not sure about these items though. I mean i would love to but probably out of my price range at the moment
980cc modified rdx injectors
polished IM
polished TB
3" electric exhaust cutout
2 hks mufflers
3" exhaust
tilton twin disk clutch/flywheel/pressure plate
maybe? (pauter rods, wiseco 9:1 pistons, kms valvetrain, type-s heads)

As much as I would love to buy some of your parts I think you should do another TL.
That sucks about your current and previous injuries. I've been there, improperly diagnosed thank goodness. The constant pain will make a person go crazy. Luckily I'm almost 100% again and I can't imagine living with that level of pain everyday.

Damn Bert! That sucks about the car, but glad your ok. Let me know if you decide to part it out, I'll probably buy some parts; otherwise a stock looking sleeper would be a lot fun. Also if anyone needs a J&R ECU I have one for sale in the BM right now:

libert69,
I have been following your build for quite sometime now. I'm very sorry about what happened to you and glad that you managed to walk away from it.
I would love to see you buy another TL and swap everything over. You've done amazing things for this community and opened many new doors. Whatever decision you make I'm sure will be the best one. Best of luck, and I wish you a fast and painless recovery.

We got our M-factory forged straight cut 3rd and 4th gears on our TL transmission for our turbo Odyssey. The work great . Not as loud as I thought they would be. Normal driving they make a small whine but at redline they make a really cool whine. Enough that the first couple times I lifted because it shocked me a little.
They shift great and run with no issues. Unless you noticed the whine you would not know they were there. Patrick said"This will fix your issue".
We are running 19lb of boost and 532whp and 460ftlb of torque.
So far so good. Check out our facebook page for some pictures.

Would you recommend these gears for a DD turbo?
Sounds like they're not crazy loud and something that wouldn't draw unnecessary attention for a sleeper build?

I hope you get better Bert.. have you tried traditional acupuncture (not the bs kind)? It helped with my slipped disc. Also, lots of swimming and keeping the spine and muscles active.

I sold the car to AckTL05. He will be tearing it down and parting everything out. Contact him for any parts you may want. Im sure he will be making a for sale thread when he gets everything taken off but you can still contact him and he can pull the parts your interested in. The list I made earlier is everything he has. I still have a bunch of parts here that Ill be selling also.
If anyone has questions on particular parts from my car you can contact me and Ill help you out.
I was 50/50 on swapping parts into a new TL but with the purchase of the new genesis, I really didnt want to start building something right now. I was going to part everything out on my own but again, the hassle of tear down, storage, shipping etc really turned me off. With the insurance payout and the money for selling the car, I have recovered a little over half of everything I put into the car. I can live with that.
But man, did I love that car. Something about dropping to 4th, spinning the wheels a little at 80mph and blowing the doors off M5's was a huge rush. However, the constant worry of destroying the trans again, axles possibly breaking and so on is just a pain in the ass. Theres always some nervousness of hard part failure on a heavily modded car but there are much better platforms to start with.
Ive been eyeing a few supras for the past couple years and I loved those cars for over 10 years. But with all the new technology being integrated into new vehicles, its hard to buy a car that is over 15 years old and throw a lot of money into it. If I can find a good deal on a slighty used GTR then that will more the likely be my next project.
Certainly not my last post on here but no more turbo updates

Dude, it totally feels like I just lost a family member or something. I'm gonna go to my room and listen to my Sinead O'Connor cd now and think about the posts that were made when she was whoopin' ass..."nothing compares...to you" (the car, not libert69)
Lmao. As much as I dislike Hyundai, I hope you find a newfound fulfillment until you obtain the desired car you're looking for. I was actually looking forward to becoming a new member of the few elitist that hang out on the turbo thread but without you on board, it won't be the same. I guess that's how things go sometimes. I will righteously take your spot here and build on your legacy bro. You were a pioneer on long term boost on a j-series. You gave lots of knowledge and advice for others.
We want pics of that GTR!
